Would anyone be interested in creating a Skype group for this? It might help with the planning a bit and would prevent spamming in the OOC?
An airship if possible wouldn't happen until Practically 2 years or so into it. Like you need 6 max level artificers and a crap ton more artificers whom are proficent or better at it.

Also the impracticality of it. Everyone can fly already. . .
However, I feel it is unfair for me to make two playable characters but not allow others to.

You're the GM, you kinda get to do whatever you want. Personally, I don't mind at all.

Due to my lack of familiarity with the setting I've probably botched up something so just let me know what it is (if it exists) so I can correct it.
Finished my thief, trying to think up a good name for my wyvern rider.
On a completely separate note, the Cait Sith are currently looking for allies. Is there any race which wishes to befriend us nature-loving pacifists?
This is unusual, but I would be willing to bet some of you have more expiriance GMing then me, so I may often ask your opinions.

With as many people as we have, should I allow two characters per person or will that be too much?

In my experience I've found that when people are allowed to play multiple characters they generally only do so when they're confident in their ability to handle it. I think that if you decide to split the players up into multiple groups then this would prove a satisfactory way to allow them to play multiple sides of the story. If you plan on keeping everyone together as a single party then I think playing multiple characters would be a bit extraneous as they're not really adding much from the player's perspective other than additional writing opportunities / increased work load.
"Attention on deck!"

It was only a moment or so after the colonel stepped off that a nearby trooper snapped to attention and offered a proper salute, soon after those around him followed suit in a similar manner. With a dismissive wave of his hand Colonel Morrel returned the action in turn, highly polished boots clicking against the cold, metallic floor of the ship's interior.

The colonel had always hated space travel. From the feel of zero-g pelican flight to the sick sensation one got when they realized that outside these metallic walls there was nothing offering protection from the vast expanse of limitless death, the Colonel had learned that space flight was and always would be a hazardous business. It was a few moments after the colonel stepped off that his staff followed suit, ten in total, these professional soldiers and intel specialists immediately returned to their previous actions: bombarding him with questions about the upcoming missions and the ships overall readiness.

Having been put in nominal command of the operation Morrel was obliged to answer a fair number of their concerns, though he was always wary to separate possibly restricted information such as their destination and total offensive capabilities. Indeed, most of these staff officers who were ONI themselves were not even aware that there were SPARTANS on board.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The walk to the CIC passed quickly as the colonel's aids one by one dropped away to resume their jobs at various points throughout the ship. Coming to a halt outside the CIC main hatchway the colonel's boots again came together in a smart manner, clicking softly as the doors slide open to allow him passage inside. "Avalon, status update. What's our time on target for departure?"

Name: Colonel Alexander Morrel

Age: 40

Gender: Male

Military Classification: UNSC MC Colonel

Service History: A well-respected soldier with many years experience, Morrel was brought on to the operation to provide mission oversight and Information Redacted. As ONI's eyes and ears on the operation the colonel is responsible for both keeping the team focused as well as making sure they don't step too far into restricted areas/topics.

Previous Missions of Note: Colonel Morrel got his start as a second lieutenant during Operation TREBUCHET running a line infantry platoon. After being selected for and passing his SF training gauntlet he was picked up by ONI and rapidly ascended the ranks after a branch transfer to military intelligence.
