Kaito Maru, Onyx

Despite the turn of events and Fujitora administering a new authority over him, Kaito didn't appear to be bothered in the least. His serious expression didn't change at all, his body language showing no signs of stress, worry, or even anger. He matched the gaze of the man before him silently for a moment before letting out a sigh. He patiently waited for Ayame to finish her speech as well, slowly lowering his hand that held the cuffs as time went on. When the woman brought the rain down, Kaito casually formed a black, crystal umbrella and held it over his head. With his free hand he reached inside his jacket and withdrew a particularly shiny badge. The Superintendent and former Head Detective reached over to Fujitora, holding the badge out.

"When order is neglected, even for a single, special case, all other cases are taken in a new light," Kaito began. "If order is not absolute and consistent, then there can be no order. No peace or security can be found." After Fujitora took the badge, Kaito turned away and walked over to the large black crystal that contained Tsukiko Umene. "Do not be surprised if you two share the same fate as Zeno Hakaresu." Now his free hand moved over to the crystal that surrounded the enraged wild woman.

Tsukiko Umene, Honeybadger

The moment the crystal that had captured her was ground into fine dust, her hand shot out and latched onto Kaito's jacket collar. Tsukiko lifted him off the ground, holding him up with her single hand. Despite this violent reaction, Kaito managed to remain perfectly calm, even still holding his umbrella over his head perfectly vertically to remain dry. "Don't you ever try that shit again with me, Maru," Tsukiko threatened, lowering the man so as to bring them face-to-face now. "I'll put you in the ground before you can even apologize." After Tsukiko released him, Kaito took a moment to readjust his jacket to make it comfortable again. "I'm sure you will. I did you a favor, Umene. I never intended to apologize."

With that, the main jumped down from the platform with a splash against the puddles forming on the square below. Tsukiko angrily stared down at the back of his head as he walked away, but after a few seconds she returned her attention to Ayame and Fujitora. "And as for you two assholes!" Tsukiko pointed a finger at Ayame menacingly. While some of her rage had subsided with time, given that she wasn't immediately trying to kill either of them right now, it was clear that she was still mad. The rain didn't even bother her, she seemed to not even notice it despite how quickly she was getting drenched. "You two might be smarter than me, but don't think that gives you any kind of right to make a fool out of me."

"You should both feel fucking lucky that I didn't kill you. Considering how pathetic you made me look I have every right to end this stupid revolution here and now."
Now she aimed her finger and furious gaze at Fujitora. "But I like you guys. So I'm willing to give you two a second chance." Her hand went down now, both now resting on her hips as she leaned forward to look more imposing. "The next time you feel like betraying me, fucking don't." With a huff, Tsukiko turned away from the Choko siblings, facing the crowd that had gathered in the square.

Only now did she seem to notice the rain coming down. Tsukiko brushed her wet hair back over her shoulders and looked down at her feet. The blood from Zeno's corpse was being washed off the platform, draining past her boots. The woman faced the corpse now, crouching down to get a better look at the late Hokage. While she would never admit it, she did have respect for the man. He was strong, after all, and he had also done a lot for her in the past. One of the reasons she wasn't put down as a child was because Zeno had shot the idea down after she was brought to Konoha. Though she would like to think her entire career came from her ability alone, Tsukiko knew that Zeno kept her out of a lot of trouble by turning a blind eye to her disposition and outbursts. Her violence could've ended her career several times already, but he kept her instated as a shinobi rather than lock her up.

There was a kind of sadness in her heart, but her expression didn't change. The wild woman still appeared angry as she reached out and closed Zeno's eyelids. "Will of Fire, eh?" Tsukiko mumbled to herself, proving that she had heard everything when she was in the crystal prison. "... stupid philosophy..." Standing upright again, she looked up into the sky, uncaring of the rain falling on her face. After sniffing a few times, Tsukiko looked back down at the crowd. There was obvious mixed feelings about Ayame and Fujitora's revolution, and Tsukiko had her own mixed feelings too. "I'm gonna take a week off," Tsukiko said aloud, still not looking at Fujitora or Ayame. "I need to kill some things."

Shin Maru, Topaz

The young detective rushed onto the square just in time to see his father jump down from the platform above, where the Hokage had given his speech. And where the Hokage lay now, deceased. Ayame, Fujitora, and Tsukiko stood over the body still. Considering the clothes of Ayame, it didn't take long for Shin to figure out what had gone down. An anger began to burn inside him, previously unheard of. Shin was never known to get mad. But something about this whole situation changed him. His hands clenched into fists and he bared his teeth in a sneer. How can they do something like this? How long have they been planning it? What do they have to- The teenager didn't even notice his father approaching until a hand fell on his shoulder.

"Shin," Kaito greeted, snapping Shin out of his rage. "Father, can you explain to me what is going on?" His father continued walking, prompting Shin to follow him. They remained silent until they were no longer in the square, and thus out of earshot from the majority of the shinobi present. "Ayame and Fujitora Choko staged a coup. They killed the Hokage and took his seat," Kaito began. "I could tell that much for myself...""Tsukiko Umene was not a factor. She was, however, a wild card that seems to have ultimately sided with them." Shin brought a hand up to his chin as he thought about it. It did make sense that Tsukiko would support something violent, especially if the outcome would allow her to continue being violent in the future. "But what else is going on? I know there's more to it than that."

Now his father turned his head to face him as they walked through the rain. "They had been planning this for a while. I had always advised the Hokage against admitting foreign shinobi, as I did when they first arrived years ago. As always, however, he ignored my warnings. I had paid a close eye on those two for the past few years. I was aware of their opinion of Zeno, but never figured they would try to kill him. Perhaps I had grown too comfortable with them as time went on. But this was a good dose of reality." Shin began to look concerned now. While his father had always been the pinnacle of calm and concise, he was starting to have a dark tone about him. "I no longer doubt my instincts. When my suspension is over, I will take steps to bring law and order back to Konohagakure. Immigrant shinobi will be thoroughly inspected and screened with strict provisions. If I can convince Ayame to declare a state of Martial Law, I can purge all dangers to our society within a few weeks."

Shin slowed down slightly now. This was the closest to anger he had ever seen coming from his father. On top of that it had become apparent that his plans were quite morally questionable. "Wait, I thought you didn't approve of the revolution? Why would you turn to them for support?" Shin inquired, now picking up the pace to match his father again. "My job has always been to maintain peace through order, Shin. Today caused an upset to that. Konoha will be tested in the coming months thanks to the instability caused by the coup. My differences with the Choko can easily be put aside to protect the city. While I do not agree with their actions, I cannot change them. I can, however, make the best of the situation and begin fixing the problems that will arise instead of ignoring them to focus on our leaders."

The young detective scowled, but he knew his father was right to a degree. It was a waste of time to be angry with the revolution. "I suppose you're right... but your idea from earlier... don't you think that's a bit harsh? Surely people will disagree with you and denounce your plan." Now Kaito stopped and looked at Shin. His son was about the same height as him, so they could see eye to eye. "The world's opinion of me does not affect what I do," he explained. "I serve to keep order, by any means necessary. This will keep our current leaders from being violently assassinated and throwing Konoha into a state of upheaval. Repeating what happened today will only compound our problems, and I will ground out that possibility. I may not like the Choko siblings, but if they were to fall now then Konoha would surely fall with them."
Stats will not be put into play.

Alright, that works just fine for me.
I'm gonna say that I'm interested, but I have some questions too. Mechanics-wise. I assume there will be a class system, but will stats be put into play or is this more focused on the narrative elements?

Tsukiko Umene, Honeybadger

She was too late. The invisible woman landed on a rooftop overlooking the square and the platform where the Hokage was killed. Her route was angled, so as to preserve her stealth at the cost of speed. A mistake that resulted in being too slow to stop the assassin from killing the Hokage. A new kind of anger began to flow through her veins. A certain rage that she couldn't remember if she had ever felt before. It was not grief or remorse that fueled her temper, but humiliation. Failure. She had failed to stop this woman, despite knowing that it was within her ability to do so.

And her rage was not quieted when the assassin revealed her identity. None other than Ayame. Now that Tsukiko reflected on it, the scent was familiar but not quite recognizable. It dawned on her that she had taken deliberate steps to fool Tsukiko's senses. This betrayal was well thought out. Tsukiko's face contorted in a terrifying scowl. Her Hiding with Camouflage technique couldn't hide the powerful killing intent that began to wash over the square. She wasn't just humiliated from her own failure but deliberately set up to fail. And that didn't sit well with her, to say the least.

With a powerful leap, Tsukiko cleared the entire town square in a direct line for Ayame. The enraged woman slammed into the platform with enough force to rock the entire thing, her Hiding with Camouflage no longer in effect and allowing all to see her arrival. As she stood upright her rage was almost palpable. Her eyes were firmly locked on Ayame and both her hands began balling into fists and releasing in a rhythmic pattern. "So this is what it is, huh?" Tsukiko uttered, her voice low and incredibly dangerous. Already in her mind the entire world was beginning to fade out, a tunnel vision began to form with Ayame at her focus. "A grab for power, is that right? Just going to throw everyone under the bus, yeah? Who do you think you are, Choko!? You think you can just play me for the fool if it means you can get something out of it!?"

Tsukiko's hands finally clenched into fists and remained that way. "I'll show you who the fool is!!" Tsukiko planted her feet for a quick charge, finally breaking the tension as she aimed to deliver a fist into Ayame's face. Having finally snapped it was apparent by looking that Tsukiko was no longer in control of herself. But in that split-second before Ayame would feel Tsukiko's wrath on a physical level, something stopped the woman from landing the hit. Almost instantly a black crystal had formed around the feral woman, completely encasing her and stopping her in her tracks.

Looking for Trouble

Kaito's hands separated from the Tiger handseal, having successfully stopped Tsukiko from slamming Ayame. Despite all that had happened before him, only a couple meters away, his composure hadn't been rocked in the least. "Settle down, Umene," he commanded, despite the fact the woman wasn't capable of doing anything at this point. After sighing to himself, Kaito took a final drag on his cigarette before completely removing it from his mouth and casually tossing it onto the platform in front of his foot. He ground the butt out with his boot as he exhaled the last of the smoke.

"You are incorrect, Ayame-chan," Kaito said plainly, removing his foot from the smoldering cigarette. "To prosper..."

"You need order."

Without his expression or tone changing, something seemed different about Kaito now as compared to before. His calm radiance had changed. His authoritative side was growing stronger. "It is not a matter of ambition or desire. Emotion does not bring a state to greatness, it only drags it down to failure." Kaito stepped forward now, crouching over the bloody corpse of Zeno. "Barbaric acts only provide shock value. You could've killed him in a much more graceful way..." With a sigh he stood upright again. He took a moment to look at Ayame before returning his attention to the masked man, whom he had already known the identity of before he even arrived.

"When it comes down to it, I too hold Konohagakure above any single life," Kaito confessed. "But that does not excuse your actions today. I was physically incapable of stopping you two, I was aware of that. But neither of you are above Konoha. Neither of you are above the law." The older man reached into his jacket, withdrawing two pairs of chakra-restraining handcuffs. "I am no judge and I am no jury. But I am the enforcer. Ayame and Fujitora Choko, you two are under arrest. Shimura will be joining you later."

"Will you comply quietly or will you resist?"
I'm also on board.
Shouldn't be playing Starcraft on school computers anyways. lol

Tsukiko Umene, Honeybadger

The fact the man turned and raised a hand to block Tsukiko's attack confirmed that he had acute sensory capability and not some kind of dojutsu like the Sharingan. However he further demonstrated his ability by allowing her spear to pierce his hand and grabbing the shaft, snapping the weapon with his forearm strength alone while simultaneously grabbing Tsukiko's outstretched leg. Wait, maybe he has Byakugan if he was able to see my attack with such clarity, Tsukiko mused briefly before feeling the squeezing force he exerted on her leg. Letting go of the Monicker, as it was a lost cause now, Tsukiko quickly weaved handseals. While the casual onlooker would see this man being stabbed by an invisible force and grabbing thin air, a poof of smoke gave undeniable proof there was an opponent.

Quite visible was the potted plant hovering in the air next to the mysterious man, briefly defying gravity before crashing to the ground and shattering. Tsukiko had used the substitution technique, reappearing inside a building just down the street. That son of a bitch, that hurt, she grumbled to herself, jumping down from the table she was standing on and looking out the window. The man was still in the street, but the broken spear was now visible and he was likely removing the rest of it from his bloody hand. And I can't believe that asshole had the gall to break my spear. Now I have to get a new one. That isn't easy.

Clenching her fist, Tsukiko finally looked over her shoulder to see where she was. There was an elderly lady sitting on a couch nearby, watching the TV. She was completely unaware of the invisible woman's presence. Tsukiko propped the window open and jumped out, landing on the street again. Though impossible to see by normal means, those capable of spotting the invisible would see she had a furious scowl. I don't know how fast he is. I have a headstart from this position, so perhaps I can reach the Hokage and do something. But he might be able to catch me again and all I would've done is waste energy... I have to stop this guy before I can stop that woman. Besides, I'll be able to track her down at any time now. If I can't protect the Hokage...

I can avenge him.

Tsukiko pulled out several meters of ninja wire, quickly tying the shape to form a small, pathetic-looking net. However, dangling from the ninja wire in several places were exploding tags partially wrapped around vertices where the wires interlocked. In total there was five. Holding this shitty mass of wire and explosives by another wire, Tsukiko dashed towards the mysterious man. "Block this!" Tsukiko called out, tossing the tangled mess at the man with her right hand as she held onto the 'leash' with her left. She deactivated her Hiding with Camouflage while the wires were mid-flight, bringing her intention to view for the whole world. Once the mass was less than two meters from the assassin, Tsukiko yanked the leash taught and channeled her chakra into it. The trademark sizzling sound being quickly accompanied by the near simultaneous detonation of all five tags.

Regardless of how much damage the man received, the explosion itself would provide great visual cover by obscuring the view of most the 11th corps member that were watching and the assassin himself. Tsukiko capitalized on this and immediately turned tail to run in the direction of the Hokage and the female assassin. If that didn't kill him it must've rocked him, Tsukiko thought, jumping onto the nearest rooftop and making a handseal again. Re-activating the Hiding with Camouflage, so as to be able to get the drop on the female assassin again, she took off as fast as she could to get to the scene in time.

Shin Maru, Topaz

The young detective and the jonin accompanying him arrived at the Hokage's Office, both clearly in a rush. "Go to their houses and see if they're home. I'll check things out here." "On it." The two parted ways as the man leapt off towards the city while Shin rushed into the building. Already news had spread of the incident, and though the building was mostly empty there were several people running about with various documents and papers. Apparently they were preparing as if Konoha was under attack with some kind of preservation protocols. Shin made sure to stop one, a thin nerdy-looking fellow. "Who can I talk with to find out what the Hokage had been doing this morning?" Shin asked him, surprising the man. "I wouldn't know, but we're all kinda busy here. Shouldn't you be protecting the Hokage right now?" "I'm trying. He was poisoned, I'm trying to find out what point in time he could've been poisoned and who it could've been. Something like that had to be an inside job..."

The mysterious woman and the Hokage were on the platform again, though the square was much emptier than when they first encountered there prior. However, a single man walked out into the open space, now being one of the few spectators to whatever this assassin woman wanted. He stood at a fairly average height and had medium-length, shaggy black hair. His glasses and beard didn't help his case, making look well into a mid-life crisis. Kaito Maru adjusted his glasses, looking up to the spectacle above the square. The Hokage, lying on the ground at the mercy of the mystery woman.

"Boys," the man spoke, his voice practically radiating a calm authority. This was only to catch Yamato and Tatsuya's attention, as he gave no further commands. Instead he let out a sigh and withdrew a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. "You know, this was a spectacular failure." While Kaito's voice still sounded calm, a tone of irritation could be detected. "Our forces performed poorly and reacted haphazardly." After lighting the cigarette and stowing the extras away, Kaito took a pause for a drag. After finishing it he looked back towards Yamato and Tatsuya. With a simple motion of his hand he indicated for them to stay put.

The middle-aged Superintendent leapt up from the square, landing on the very edge of the platform the Hokage and the assassin were standing on. Surely she would see this as an aggressive act, but Kaito made no further moves to get closer. "Honestly, this is just embarassing, Zeno-sama..." After another drag, Kaito blew out his smoke over his left shoulder. "It goes to show how unprepared we truly were. How little we used caution... By the way, assassin-chan... does your husband know what you're doing here?" The elder shinobi lifted his left hand, forming the Seal of Confrontation slowly and smoothly. While nothing happened from it, it was a good indicator that he was now prepared to form handseals.

Tsukiko Umene, Honeybadger

As Tsukiko moved in for the decisive blow, her senses alerted her to immediate danger. Almost as if he came out of nowhere, another robed figure had appeared in close proximity and delivered a kick towards the invisible woman. How did he detect me? Tsukiko wondered, twisting her body out of the way to avoid the incoming attack. Her effort to dodge and avoid damage reflected poorly on her own attack, causing her swing to miss the first assassin's leg. Instead the spearhead passed harmlessly behind her knee with plenty of space between the blade and her body. Fight this guy or keep after the woman...

The invisible woman slid to a halt, eliminating all the momentum she had from the speed she was moving at. Wielding her spear in both hands again, Tsukiko asserted a combat stance to prepare to fight this man. However she noticed something, prompting her to look up. Taking the high ground in various locations was a bunch of masked people, ANBU mask at that, wearing matching uniforms and a very familiar insignia. These were the guys who used to spy on me, Tsukiko realized, making sure to spot each and every 11th Corp member before returning her gaze to the second robed assassin that had interrupted her. This is all kinds of fishy. Why would our own organization try to kill the Hokage? Are these two people even actually a part of the 11th Corps? Do they all know I'm here!? How did this asshole find me!? And most importantly...

Who do I kill first!?

The Hiding with Camouflage technique masked it, but Tsukiko's expression contorted into one of rage. Her primal anger was starting to take control as she grew more frustrated with the situation she was in. I can track down the other bitch when I'm through with this piece of shit! Maintaining her invisibility, Tsukiko charged back towards the robed man, approaching him from behind. If he knows I'm coming, he's a sensor. The wild jonin hopped into the air, leaping at the man's back with her spear aimed to pierce his torso. She held her left leg out in a kicking pose, parallel to the spear, so that if she were to impale him as she intended she would be able to quickly yank the weapon back out by pressing against his back. That is if the attack worked in the first place. The spear was aimed to strike somewhere in the center of his chest, preferably through one of his lungs, but Tsukiko wasn't too picky and was ready to adjust her aim as needed.
