Shadow DragonFirst it was an EMP then massive tidal waves third was disease and fourth well fourth let's say you can't trust anyone . About ten years ago these waves hit destroying society and the USA as we know it only the lucky survived the first two then the unlucky survived the third. Some say it was a government plan others just a weird turn of events from human interactions with the environment whatever it was we just know that third wave wiped out most of the population and people in military bases were massacred. Now nature has taken some smaller cities but the bigger cities are mostly just in ruins now. Your characters will be either one of three things these three things are:
Survivor: sounds how it is someone who survived the third wave and now is on their own in the ruined cities and countrysides they have whatever they kept after the third wave or whatever they have found through their wanderings.
Base recruit: some remnants of the military banded together and was able to get the word out for recruits or evacuate them. These recruits will be put in a platoon and told who the enemy is more so than not the enemy is other survivors nicknamed " teds".
Silencer: while nobody really knows when they began their mission they know this , silencers are deadly. Brainwashed or I guess you could say programmed from the womb silencers were sleeper agents . They activated shortly after the third wave and have one mission to kill the survivors, they are highly skilled snipers and got their name from the fact most survivors don't know one is stalking them. Though saying they don't feel human emotions is a lie .
