The Rise of the Guardian

Both considered this proposal and looked at each other. The younger nods and so does the other before they look at Ash. "We accept your offer." Both held out their hand to be shaken. Each would introduce themselves. "My name is Altoron." "I'm Kanarus."

Orion left the article of clothing where it was before going to get some other supplies. First, he applies some salve that helps with pulling the piece of wood out as well apply a numbing agent. He lets it sit while he prepares his station. "You have a piece of wood sticking out of your back. No worries, it might require some stitches. You bruised your back pretty good too and I have a salve for that. I also applied a numbing salve on the wound and bit outside of it so I can operate effectively. It is near your spine but with steady hands, we have a high chance of getting the wood out without making you immobile." Orion explains.

"Our mission is to learn more of this. To see what your role is since they want you alive." But it seems you know Ash much as we." The older surmised.

Orion came back over as he set some things aside. "Here. Chew on this. It's a natural pain reliever." Offering her leaves of an herb. Once she took it, he gently rolled her over. "I'm going to check your back. Excuse if I hurt you." Her gently lifts her clothing to see the damage to her back.

"They think they've been chosen to carry out their ladies will, will even commit suicide to not be captured. We don't know who "she" is, but the only thing we are sure of is that she wants you." The younger tells her.

Orion chuckles as he opens the door. "We're here." The hooded figure enters the room, Orion motions where to lay Ash down before bowing and taking his leave toward the barracks. Orion began gathering his supplies along with getting some water boiling. "Scarlet? If you are awake, on a scale of one to ten, how would you rank your pain?" He asks.

Carth grumbled though followed carefully behind Ash toward the barracks. It was weird to feel like he was crawling about but he guess he would have to get over it. Being at the barracks, Carth situated himself in a corner that was clear and laid himself down immediately before going to sleep all nice and curled up.

Both of the hooded figures looked at each other before pulling back their hoods to reveal their faces. Both were young but the younger-looking one was about half a foot shorter than the other. The taller one spoke up. "Our informants had been getting news of the creatures suddenly arising from our brothers that encountered them or have seen them. After we have been getting reports from each town about a person who would suddenly attack anyone that they decided was a threat and would come looking for you. As more reports came in, we got assigned to look into them. We noticed you from the last town but weren't sure of our suspicions till we got here." he explains.

Orion looked at Ash when she approached him and nodded. "I'll take her to my quarters and treat her there." He looks at the hooded figure with Scarlet in his arms and motions him to follow. The man nodded and followed Orion.

The dragon stirred slowly, blinking quickly as he slowly focused his vision. He then looks up at Ash with tired human-like eyes. With a mewling-like growl, he slowly lifts his head, and then his body. On his wings and feet, Carth feels like his crawling but then realizes he doesn't know where he is going. This was a whole new height but he wanted to make sure he wasn't going to break or step on anyone and/or anything.

"Asteria. We had speculated that Ash was for short when your companions spoke of you." One of them explained. The other with Scarlet in his arms seemed a little uncomfortable. "May we continue this conversation elsewhere so this young lady may rest?" He asks.

Orion stayed with the Drag-Carth as Ash went over to the hooded figures. They looked from Scarlet to Ash when they were asked the same question. "We were under orders to tail you by our Master. He has given reports from our informants of Servants of Darkness looking for you. At least the only thing they would say was your name before killing themselves." One of the figures explained. the younger one nodded in confirmation. "We were ordered to find out why your name was all they would say."

One of the three figures caught Scarlet as she fell forward and scooped her up in his arms. The young on looked to her and his companion. "Careful Brother." "Watch it little Brother. Don't need you flirting." The man teased. The third shook his head in disapproval.

Orion looked to Ash and suddenly confused. "What is it Ash? What can't you believe?" He asks.

The young man looked rather confused, looking to his companions before looking back to Scarlet. "I wouldn't be shocked if you did not. That was quite the impact you took and still with minor injury."

"We will wait till he wakes and see if he can move to the barracks. It is spacious and he will be able to rest further till he can shift back." The Captain explains. He gives a salute and leaves.

Orion was next to come over though more into assessing the Dragon before him. He seemed rather speechless.

The young man helped her sit up but helped her slowly. "Easy there. They're fine. But I think one of your friends is no longer human." He explains looking at the dragon and the woman.

The Dragon looked at Ash, Recognizing the name she spoke. Carth....that was his name? But yet he was so tired, and calm. The Dragon nuzzled into her, feeling her warmth upon his rough skin. His eyes began to droop as sleep was starting to consume him. The Captain slowly approached. The soldiers dispersed on his command, assessing the damage and planning how to take care of the bodies.

"It is shocking that there is still a Dragon on this Earth." He comments. "How did you know how to calm him?" He asks.
