@Agent B52 We'll be part of a larger unit, but will each be playing a singular character or a squad of them at most AKA We'll have plenty of NPC's to do the dying for us! That, and I'm looking at infantry because, well, a Leman Russ is not much use on a close-protection job...or an assassination...or a recon into hostile territory...or...well, you get the picture.

Nevertheless, if you wish to take a Leman Russ, I'll let you have it.

S'll good, I don't expect everyone to just run over there...I'll likely have another idea up within a couple of days anyway; it involves Grimdark Space Pirate warp-trickery goodness.

On that note, don't be afraid @Rotmouse, 'advanced' is somewhere I put things that I expect a good standard of writing from. That said, I never expect more than people are capable of and, if you're adding to the RP but make one or two mistakes along the way, I can easily ignore it. :)

Aaaaas for why the Red Robes are coming, I will eventually be discussing objectives and agendas with all participants over PM. I forsee this RP becoming something great, if everyone can keep it together.

As for the Consortium, they are former Imperial servants with large resources, well-trained and equipped PDF/Guard regiments at their disposal, a burning desire of independence and will certainly prove a challenge for the Imperium...not quite Horus Heresy scale, but dangerous nonetheless.

Standard or Drop are both fine-and-dandy, all have their uses to the Imperium...

As for the fleet, what were you thinking, Enzayne?

I honestly believe that, with a few dedicated writers, it could work out to be a brilliant and enjoyable time.

Two things here;

1) I'd prefer, but not demand, that we be an infantry regiment/company/squad.

2) If you wish to remain as a driver or the like, please make it something useful to infantry; a chimera or something along those lines...I might also consider one of the less 'exotic' LR variants.

Thanks for showing your interest though, either way! I don't think people actually realise just how much can potentially be done with the Guard - all manner of scenarios and missions, unlimited creative ideas for your Guardsman/woman, the thrill of being an average Joe in the middle of a universe trying to kill you.

Oh the joys of the Guard.

@mattmanganon While I do agree that the Alpha Legion are known for all looking the same, and so on...where the Hell did you find that they drink blood and grow as big as Primarchs? Sounds like steaming horse manure to me.

I will make this as concise as I possibly can;

- This will be a 'high casual - advanced' RP, correct spelling and the like is encouraged (although I'll let less obvious mistakes slide), and at least a paragraph per post. An entire novel is welcome, but not necessary.

- A decent grasp of the 40K lore is welcome, but newcomers are entirely welcome as well.

- This RP, for reference(s) sake, could be compared to Band of Brothers, Sharpe/Hornblower, Dirty Dozen as well as many more.

- We will be playing as a composite regiment I.E. one composed of elements from decimated contingents, allowing for variety and, hopefully, more interesting role-playing.

- All elements of the Imperial warmachine can/will be represented (minus Astartes etc); Mechanicus, psykers, Naval contingents and the like.

- This will not be a purely military RP, there will be battles and combat, but it will ultimatley not be the entire story. Thank the Emperor.

- While I do have plans for the narrative, I'm all too happy to listen to suggestions from participants, questions and anything else.

Firstly, I hope you mean a son of Alpharius, rather than the son of Alpharius.

Secondly, although I am willing to allow substantial freedom with characters and so on, I would honestly prefer Imperial characters; they can be deranged or rather different Imperials, but servants of the Emperor nonetheless.

@Frengo You ask many questions, I like that.

At this point the Imperium does not see the Consortium as a huge threat, yet it has sent hundreds of vessels and, as you say, millions of warriors to deal out Imperial justice to the misguided.

Can they go toe-to-toe? At this point, yes, there are Astartes and others with the crusade, but not enough to swing the balance massively toward Imperial victory against a whole system of unified planets. As time goes by, depending how it all goes, more manpower may be poured in...should word of it even reach Terra...

The RP will likely start with a space battle and landing - think D-day with huge spacecraft - forces making planetfall as huge ships blow one another apart above.

All very dramatic.

As to your idea, I have no problem whatsoever with it, and would actually welcome such a basic - but completely fine - fighting force.
