Paper Moon - Remnants

Theme: PAPERMOON - dj-Jo Remix

He had missed the dilapidated scenery far too much. A grin stretched widely at either end of his face as he whizzed his way off of a ridge into the remaining story of a languidly deteriorating building. The rogue broke forward into a flip, then jutted his legs out to optimize acceleration and lessen air resistance with the momentum UNDER THE MOON’S SHADOW had built up. He gracefully landed on the rusted metal surface, just in case the beam was on the brink of falling apart. Paper Moon peered behind him, estimating which level of the building he was on based off of his height. A fall from there wouldn’t be fatal, but it would definitely leave him incapacitated for some time.

Just to stay on the safe side, he treaded lightly as he expanded a map screen, displaying his current distance from Black City. The region could already be seen over the horizon of decrepit terrain, a diamond in the rough. A beacon of hope, even though it had such a dreary name. The player quickly patted himself down to make sure that all of his bearings were still in check, then without skipping a beat, continued his sprint towards the city.

”When was the last time I stopped by the cafe…?” The boy’s train of thought deviated from its tracks, he wracked through his memory in an attempt to pinpoint a fragment of any sort. It must have been three weeks at the least. Shiro felt a tinge of guilt, since he practically fell off the radar for nearly a month, it must have posed a bit of a concern that an avid patron suddenly disappeared. To him, the cafe was a relaxing place where he could wage the against homework with a constant supply of sugar-induced energy. He would probably have to buy some elaborate and overpriced parfait upon his next visit. Well, at least Angelina’s spirits didn’t seem to drop in the slightest during his absence.

Chances are, Shiro was probably one of the few people who knew both of her identities, but made it a point to not call her by her actual name within DGO unless the two were alone. And since stake outs were regular activities within the Sweepers, that was a decent amount of time.

Paper Moon continued to glance in all directions, just to make sure there weren’t any marauders trailing him. He kept his left arm close to the Harvest Carbine at all times, so in the case of an ambush, at least he would be prepared to return fire at a moment’s notice. But the rogue anticlimactically arrived at the city unscathed. Already he could hear the bustling of the scape right after his first few steps through the gate. If oxygen was a prevalent factor in DGO, all of it would have been exchanged with carbon dioxide because of how many people there were. Paper Moon straightened his jacket with a deft tug, then opened up his messages.

”I’m here. In one piece, as well. Currently waiting by the gates. Feel free to fill me in once you’re here.”

With that, Paper Moon hit sent and swiped at the UI, leaving nothing to obstruct his vision. The city seemed to never sleep, especially with the hints of sudden changes he’s been hearing about.
@Jedly

In other news, where's that post?

Yeah, sorry, working on one now. EA app deadline for college sneaked up on me, so I've been scurrying about to finish my application. Gonna read up and see what's new.
@Prince of Seraphs@Ryonara Just checking if it's alright that I had Delta and Eve attempt to diffuse the situation, with the latter jumping in between the fray.
Ended up posting with Delta/Eve as a voice of reason in the current situation. Can edit the post if need be, about to crash though.
Delta Snow - Airship Docks

Delta’s blank gaze scanned over those present. He knew a few, or could vaguely recall a vowel of their names from conversations he unconsciously overheard. He could already feel an agitated aura emanating from one certain individual with cerulean locks. If memory served him right, which it usually did, her name was Sapphire. It didn’t take an einstein to piece two and two together concerning the correlation between her hair color and her name, but he wasn’t one to criticize names, considering his own. At least, the daggers only but a breath away from another student’s neck were giving off an aggressive vibe.

Then Gren managed to step in just in the nick of time before they had a death on their hands, Grane ended up arriving at the wrong time, shortly followed by a person he recognized from lunch, and all the while this was happening, Delta and Cobalt were merely watching. The two quickly exchanged glances, waiting in expectation for how the scene would pan out. ”Hey, Delta, got any leftover popcorn?” The familiar asked from the pouch with Delta’s scroll grasped between its stubby ligaments, recording the whole entire duboccal with a mischievous grin. It was then did Eve’s mouth completely drop at the sight of the conflict growing, and just as quickly becoming extinguished. In a series of deft motions, Ebon was suddenly left suspended in the air, as if he was momentarily given the ability to defy the laws of gravity. And just like that, a student he hadn’t even known the name of plummeted out of sight.

It took Delta a few moments to process the events that transpired before his very eyes. His vision of a scholastic institution, albeit in this case a combat oriented one, was a place where peers didn’t exactly fling each other off the side of a cliff. He glanced down at Eve, who returned the same gaze of awe, and silently gulped in minute fear. ”I guess dad was right… women are scary. The silver-haired boy then found himself shifting in minute increments behind Grane. Kinda ironic how he was seeking refuge behind a closet drunk. But then his posture eased at the mechanical shield gravitating near the cliff’s edge, chances are, the student didn’t fully go for a dive. But what was he doing behind there?

”Eve. Getting any-” The familiar jumped onto his shoulder without any preceding cue. Its irises were suddenly rimmed with a golden hue, fluently circulating within the eyes. ”Yeah. Heat readings. You may not be able to hear him from this distance, but looks like they’re not done with their little… dispute.” Delta nodded in agreement, locking onto the two students involved. Did they not know where they were? A firefight then began to ensue, leaving a bit of the cliff to give way due to the oncoming fire. After a bit of gunplay, Sapphire took a quick retreat beside Gren. The boy was in the midst of opening his lips when Eve lept into action. The familiar dropped to the ground and paced its way over, taking a stand between the girl and shield.

”Oi, oi! Don’t you know where you both are right now?! Do you seriously want to do something that’ll detriment both the docks and Gren’s party? Calm down!” The squeaky voice didn’t really seem all that intimidating, so it wasn’t a surefire chance that they would listen. But Eve could at least try to stop the whole situation before it devolved beyond repair. Delta sighed and walked over, slightly shaking his head at Sapphire. ”Save this for another time.” The boy kept one strap of his hat tightly wrapped around his finger, he glanced at the earth's condition under the shield. The cliff probably wasn't going to hold for much longer, so hopefully the student behind could get a chance to relocate.
Posting in a bit. @harinezumikoukenAnd oooooooo, nice art. I got this printed out and hanging on my wall above my desk.
W-asian here. Quite the ethnic cocktail.
I might write a post later today, after one or two go up.

You lie. True coffee guzzlers never sleep.

Yeah, I love xKito and Diversity Promotions. I didn't spread that to you, did I? Oh well. What do you think of Monster Cat?

I've listened to the channel for a while. Haven't been too up to date with it, but I remember when they were in single digits for album releases. I think I was listening to 04 or 05 to help me fall asleep a couple of years ago. And yeh, that 60FPS is contagious.

Just gonna throw this off the top of my head, since it's 12:30, don't have a lot of time to sift around for better fitting tracks.

Eden Project - Times Like These

Would also throw in a bit of Voclaoid for ya, but as I mentioned, about to get ready for another day of classes.
@harinezumikoukenxKITOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

That's all I had to say. I also listen to MrSuicideSheep and GalaxyMusic, and maaaaaaay've picked up Diversity Promotions 'cause of a certain somebody. >_>

Crashing now. Have a good night all.
