The dropship landed, and the back gate opened up. The squad's two Smart Gunners, Hunter and Johnson, went out first. The area wasn't what most had expected. The noobies had expected Xenos as far as the eye could see, while the more experienced hadn't anticipated the near-desert setting. Drake shrugged it off, but knew sand would play hell with his arm. He pulled up the layout of the colony on his datapad. "We're heading for the Wey-Yu armory," he said. "It's well defended, and we can set up the field base there."

"Up against these guys?" Min said. His voice was steady. "So it looks like FILSS is trying to kill us." He swapped out the live rounds on his armor and in his weapons with training ones. "But at the very least we aren't getting up close and personal with Maine." He pumped his shotty and slung it across his back. "Distract and flank would be the best idea." He readied his DMR. "But then, they're the best, so they would probably expect that."
