Yeah I edited it to make a different point, you Americans learn it diffrently to Brits, we learn it BIDMAS or PEDMAS. And you may have noticed I realised something as I was criticising you.

I give up being smart.

lolno, there is a difference between obelus (÷) and solidus (/) and a single correct answer to this problem. This isn't some magical problem that has multiple possible correct answers depending on the reader's interpretation, it simply exploits the fact that people have failed to learn the difference between the two symbols (As obelus is generally pointless to use past basic arithmetic) and causes confusion. In basic arithmetic, the difference between obelus and solidus is grouping. Obelus is simply the division operator, while solidus implies a fraction that contains everything unless it is encapsulated in parenthesis.6÷2(1+2) implies (6/2)(1+2) which works out to 9while 6/2(1+2) implies (6)/(2(1+2)) which works out to 1

TL;DR K97 IS RIGHT!!!

E. And reading Jorick's post, I'm wrong.

As long as you accept 9 is the answer I don't care enough to explain.

I trust BIDMAS/BODMAS/PEDMAS. It's 9.

6÷2(1+2) is the same as (6÷2)*(1+2) if you follow BIDMAS. In order to get 1 following BIDMAS you must do 6÷(2(1+2)) and this isn't the same as (6÷2)*(1+2). Therefore you have to solve it (6÷2)*(1+2) which results in 3x3 which leads to 9. Proving once and for all that 9 is the answer and that Drakel (and his program) were right.

BOOM!!!

Funny thing, when I was you a similar thing occurred to my little toe. I was lucky to keep it.
I have a huge recommendation for any Potter fans who want something more mature in a similar vein to Potter. Look up a book called the Magicians by Lev Grossman, it's an amazing read which takes a brilliant (and perhaps more realistic) approach to magic and it's effects on those who can use it.

As the Guardian put it: ''The Magicians is Harry Potter for grown-ups,''.

As for what I'm reading now, I'm currently about to finally get round to reading ASOIAF (A Song of Ice and Fire) series. I originally started reading them a few months back but stopped at book three (A Storm of Swords) so I want to actually get through them this time as my memories from the last time I read them make me hold ASOIAF in high esteem.

So, for a few days, I'd been suffering severe toothache.

Decided to go to the walk-in/emergency dentist to seek treatment earlier, and see what I needed.

I was waiting 4 hours, as they were having trouble with an intoxicated patient.

Mm'kay, I get that.

But what I don't get is why they didn't CALL THE POLICE.

(And my tooth was pulled, incase anyone cared.)

To play Devil's Advocate if he was severely intoxicated he probably would be better in the hands of the sympathetic NHS than the more harsh police officers. They were doing him a favor, and he probably wasn't that bad if they didn't call the police.

Then again the whole point of emergency/walk in centres is you get treated quickly so your gripe is reasonable.
