Better to be banned having fun than to stay being bored as fuck. Besides how would this intervention help? If you've read Nat's posts you know for the most part he doesn't take things like this seriously.

It not he's become more of a troll, its the fact that there a fewer quality posts interjected in between his. He hasn't changed much IMO but without the quality posts, more of his trolling remains on the front page.

I haven't been here nearly as long as everyone else but here's my thoughts:

I think the reason I went here instead of OT is because on OldGuild it was a place which had a better balance between Seriousness and Fun, however now it seems that the balance is skewing towards fun rather than seriousness. It's clear to me that Spam is dying because few prefer the change, mbl pointed out how most of the threads these days are made by and that is quite accurate, what we should take from this is it indicates something.

There isn't really a community here anymore.

A lot of the members who were invested in Spam and here for a long time have left and those that remain are posting less and less. It's kinda sad really because there wasn't anywhere like Spam on RPG, it was a very unique organic forum with a rich history. And because Spam relied on its history when Guild went down and returned, all of it suddenly disappeared. At this point the future of Spam depended on whether the old members or the new members who inevitably flooded in dictated it's future. While neither situation inherently bad it more or less depended on who dictated the change, in this case it was and the new members.

Some have said we should try to save Spam, others have said we should delete Spam, I think we should just leave it. There is a new paradigm here and you can' just call for its end if you don't agree with it. That is unfair for those who prefer it.

I honestly don't know if the Spam Community or rather the Old Spam Community will ever return in some form to RPG, like I said it relied a lot on its history so with it mostly gone except for the memories of its members. There isn't a location where anyone who desired to bring back Old Spam could do so as there isn't any other Sub-Forum who would tolerate it, they have their own histories which they would like to adhere to.

The only logical solution IMO is a new Sub-Forum, but ensuring Old Spam returns in a new Sub-Forum is difficult without dedicated effort and control of membership for a time (i.e. it would have to be private for a while), it would be a Herculean task. Honestly I think it would be worth the effort but unless Mahz and the vast majority of Old Guild agreed with my sentiment it would be doomed to fail.
