I'm definitely interested! I'll get working on some cs's right away
In reality, it probably only took Mika about 30 seconds to make her decisions, but as she ran through the options in her head it seemed like it took a whole lifetime to decide. She was a lawyer, she pieced in clues of what she had and made a decision based on the big picture. Based on what she knew, she knew that the fairies were playing some kind of game and she suspected with the appearance of Amor and Ódio it was something to do with their emotions. What she knew of spirits and their games, she wasn't just picking someone for a one off. It would have repercussions. Now, she really should have picked Maine, due to the fact she had just asked for an alliance and he would have been a sound alliance if he wasn't like her and just a touch emotionally stunted. It just wasn't the best combination, besides even with what he said, Mika didn't entirely trust him. Not that she didn't trust Kieran either but he was a clean slate, at least. Someone she could trust easier.

It was that thought process that led her to go find Kieran, and she fumbled for the words.
"Don't take this the wrong way but I've been told I can take one of two people to the ball and I would rather it be you if you don't mind." Mika asked Kieran, biting the inside her lip as she waited for his response.
Before Caity could answer Nico's question, the movie star caught a glimpse of the black haired woman he had apparently appeared with in the fairy world. He immediately felt a pull towards her. "Hold that thought for a while, will you? I'll just talk to this girl..." Nico murmured and absentmindedly patted Caity's shoulder as he walked past her and towards the woman he had his eyes on. She was beautiful and... strangely barefoot.

He headed straight for her, ignoring the rest who were either standing around or conversing with each other. "Hi," he grinned at her, automatically shifting into his movie star personality. "You probably know me from the movies... I'm Nico...Nico Jensen. And you are?" he extended his hand to her.

Mika was minding her own business when someone approached her, and as she watched him approach she felt this curious pull towards him. She waited until he introduced himself and even then it took her a second to figure out how to respond to that.
"Ah no, can't say I've heard of you. I'm Mika, though, Mika LeQuire." Mika accepted his hand, shaking it with a firm handshake.
"I don't really watch movies...ever. I don't have the time so movie stars aren't really my...thing." Mika finished lamely, not quite knowing how to respond to that introduction. She retracted her hand, crossing them over her stomach.

It was the first time Nico ever came across someone who didn't watch movies and he didn't really know how to react to that. Sure, he always hid his identity to the general public but somehow, this woman not recognizing him bothered him. Or was it just an excuse? Did she want to get rid of him so bad that she had to come out with a lame excuse? Despite the suspicion, he still continued smiling at her, crossing his arms across his chest in response to her posture. "Well, maybe when we get back to the real world, I can take you out to watch your first movie. One of mine, maybe," he suggested. Is she really serious about that? he thought to himself.

Mika raised an eyebrow at his comment. Did he really think so highly of himself?
"Perhaps. I work a full time job and am full time at law school. I don't have a lot of time for things like movies." Mika shrugged, eyeing his mirror of her posture.
"You're mirroring me." She pointed out, trying to figure out why. Was he trying to intimidate her? Was he unconsciously trying to bond with her? Or was he self conscious of her not having seen his movies? She didn't think it was that big of a deal.
"I don't know a date is all that feasible anyways. I live in Minnesota, it's a bit far from Hollywood." Mika could feel how awkward this was getting. It was a shame, such a handsome face.

Wow. This is becoming unpleasant really fast," Nico thought. Law school. The brainy kind. Being a law student, she probably thought herself higher than everyone else. And probably thought talking to him was a waste of time. He would have excused himself and just walked away but something about her was keeping him there. What was it? He can't possibly be attracted to someone like her, could he? She was crabby for someone with such a beautiful face and it was a shame. "Just because I crossed my arms doesn't mean I'm mirroring you. Why would I even do that?" he asked but all the same, dropped his arms to the side.

"Yeah, I'd probably be too busy filming to come see you anyway," If she was only a little bit friendlier, he wouldn't mind driving 29, maybe 30 hours, to see her. Even if he had to drive all the way there several times a week.

"No, the fact that I crossed my arms and then you crossed your arms. Consciously or not, it still looks suspicious." She told him, with a matter of fact tone.
"Even if you weren't copying me, there are very few reasons why someone crosses their arms, none of them makes sense." Mika said, smirking when he dropped his arms. She had no idea why she was so obsessed with this, nor why she couldn't just walk away but for some reason she stayed put. He was self absorbed, which he's an actor it was practically in the job description. She didn't have time to deal with that, not that it was necessarily a bad thing but she was kinda self absorbed as well and two self absorbed people almost never got a long. Not that it even mattered, she's probably never see these people again once she got home.
"Is there a reason you came over here or was it just to make sure everyone knew who you were, just on the off chance they didn't?" Mika asked, a little snottily. She mentally chastised herself on that one, that was too far for someone she just met, even for her.

Nico shook his head, biting back a comment. He usually got along with everyone, even those people that didn't recognize him. And during those rare times, he was usually polite and patient. But the conversation with Mika was a different story. She was unpleasant, snotty, suspicious and probably entitled. And she was slowly but surely getting on his nerves. Just walk away, Jensen, he cautioned himself. It was a good idea really, just walking away. It didn't look like she appreciated meeting him anyway. "I regret having made the effort," he stated flatly. So much for biting it back.

"Trust me, not nearly as much as I do." Mika sneered at him before she turned around on her heel, stalking away angrily.

Mika must have fallen asleep, because the next thing she knew she was standing inside of a ring in a forest. Mika could feel chills going up her back, and goosebumps all around body. She shouldn't be there, she wasn't supposed to be there. The land of spirits wasn't meant for mortals, and definitely not for Mika. She had both her feet rooted firmly in the mortal world. Speaking of her feet, she realized she was still wearing her shoes. She never wore shoes in her dreams, she hated shoes. She almost through up, watching a few of the others throw up and her realization she got pulled into some trickster spirits games. Her grandmother always taught her to be wary of spirits but she hadn't felt anything prior to this. Mika listened to what the fairies said, and carefully considered her options. Not like she had any, she would have to play in whatever game this was.

Mika followed the fairies and got knocked into by a black haired fellow, holding hands with someone with purple hair. She smiled softly at the two of them.
"Spirits are often whimsical and don't concern themselves in the affairs of mortals. I think we're mere pawns in the games they play with each other so as long as we stay here, and they didn't tell us expressly not to, so I don't think you'd get in trouble for it." Mika informed them, hearing them question it. She reached down and slid off her boots and socks and squishing her feet into the ground. It felt like summer, and home a little bit. A little bit of magic in the air, a little bit of magic in the ground. That comforted her a little, as well as the knowledge that they seemed to be needed, and not used for sacrifice. So far at least.

"Sorry, I never introduced myself. I'm Mika." Mika smiled at the both of them a little more warmly now.
"You two know each other then? So the choices the spirits made weren't quite at random." Mika deduced from what she could see. She wondered how she fit in this situation, as she knew none of them, nor did she look like she was where they were from. She was an...outlier, which could prove to be a problem later. Depending on what they spirits wanted them for of course.
That's cause it was the first day the guild rebooted. You'll see I joined the same day too
I'll do that if Mika speaks Ojibwa as well, mostly because Ojibwa isn't a written language so even simple words end up being like Muckadaymashkeekiwabu; ten syllables long

Mika really hated the cold. More, she felt, than the average Minnesotan did. She hated the cold with a burning passion, and yet she couldn't even fathom leaving normally. It's only on days like today, when the cold bit through the many layers of clothing she donned to try and combat the cold on her way from her car to her office. She ran as quickly as she could to the front door of the office, unlocking it with shaking hands before depositing herself in front of the heater. She removed all her outer layers as she warmed up, making her way to her desk. The law firm she worked for wasn't big, and she doubled as the secretary sometimes on days like today when having the secretary in really wasn't necessary. Mika started her computer and looked over the files she had to finish today, in addition to a paper she had to finish for school. Luckily, she had the office to herself and she highly doubted anyone would be coming in today.
Mika was able to work in peace until about one o'clock when her grandmother called her.

"You're coming home tonight right? Sila is coming home tonight so you should be here for dinner." Mika looked at the date on her computer and realized that yes, Sila was in fact coming home tonight. Which Mika loved her cousin, she really did, but Sila had the perfect life, one Mina's grandmother was pushing her into.
"I'll try Noki, I promise." Mika said, before her grandmother continued to fill her in of all the gossip that Mika missed between yesterday when Noki called, and today. How her grandmother managed to amass enough to fill an hour, Mika will never know.
"Noki, I gotta go. I have some audio files I need to go through for this case." Mika managed to get off the phone with her grandmother and stand up, walking around the small office, stretching her legs. She normally loved visiting her family, and it's not that she didn't want to visit them but this pressure for finding a husband was killing her. Mika knew her grandmother was dying, and Mika knew all her grandmother wanted was to see Mika married. Which is what Mika thought about when she glanced at her email again. She had sent out several missives, some through craigslist and some through friends who said they knew someone who was in a similar situation. She didn't have any money to give but she figured there had to be people in the world who were similar to her. They didn't even have to live close to her, just be able to visit enough to placate her grandmother until they could get a 'divorce'.

@dabombjk no? It's a French word, derived from loup-garou. It's mostly in Quebec, though.

Edit: I suppose it's used in Louisiana too
