Wertham Community Centre was awash with little verses and lyrics here and there of rasta and of rebellion. It tickled JJ's childish side. His focus was on clean broad strokes to apply bland but pleasant white tones over the gnarled abused benches. He slowed his movements as the paint wore thin, re-applying with a quick wrist to the bucket of paint least it dry and fray his work. Simple matters such as this is what he aught to focus on, perhaps it would do him some good. Maybe he was getting some secondhand of the wacky tobbacy. He inhaled his own puffer thanks to Prince before taking a small break to remark on the work others were doing. He caught some newer faces too. This was getting to be an event in JJ's restless mind.

"A little painting here, some yardwork over there, fish the bay, heck we have it all don't we.", He spoke in a soft chuckle near the end. His sarcasm hopefully landed with some still others he saw looked lost in the sauce. A sliver of french caught his ears as he turned to see some of the ladies getting to work too. This deck of cards was playing itself out interestingly. It gave JJ a large smirk.

A lanky newer face(Aksel) had managed to sneak into the group even. He felt like water to JJ, finding the crevasses to fill in. Moldable even. The youth's rambunctious side was stirring again so he struck a line toward the fellow, something in his accent sounding far off and cold. "Cosmetic paint hides alot I guess. Hard to hide from people though." He said as he walked up toward the tall guy, empty can lugging in tow. The way he approached from the back to refill his can made it seem slick but JJ was keen on introducing himself more. A receptive voice might be the ticket to a friendship if it played out right."Name's JJ by the way, what's yours?" spoke the joyrider, who instead of offering a hand was busy restocking his endeavor.

Open to collab, JJ Shall smoke n paint with focus till then

Could a Tokyo SalaryMan take an American boomer Tourist? Could CardioGranny mess up the Mailman? Is the Baker a better choice against the Garbageman?
Let's find out

I love a good waffle house brawl irl or in rp. How about something along the lines of that spontaneity, power scaling down to normal levels and armament for beginning sakes. I havn't GM'd much but posting and working through a bracket seems doable. Basically, I want an easily accessible introductory type arena RP or a casual type story focused endeavor. where folks and knockoff some rust, grow to higher levels in future rps, or really define themselves as a wordfighter. Insight and assistance always welcome, lemme know what you think!

Setting:

Modern Earth(Hosptials, diners, intersections, military bases, it's all open if agreed upon)

Cause of Conflicts:

I was thinking a parasitic fungus that makes paranoid and aggressive behaviors, pain tolerance rise, and scar tissue faintly glow. Very low-level infection rates to stop mobs from happening, and also the fungal aspect would make it benign to the character traits save for those mentioned but also make similarly infected seek each other out/battle. It's a pandemic, where in only a very small amount, almost 1 in a million of infected show the rage trait leaving the rest of the world aware but unprepared for this RP's shenanigans. I plan to have a clandestine ambulance chasing tv network with camera drones seeking out the fights and possible anti-terrorist to the max organizations trying to come up with plans so it can be weaponized and capitalized.

Characters:

Average would be the best word. Some are more 'qualified fighters' than others but statistically I'm going for a luck of the draw. Showcase your skills with something out of left field and random/rougelike. Story wise the people behind the scenes on the sudden new global issue would be open to play as well.

"...as things are going to get really intense once the group realizes they have powers and have to face someone aggressively trying to kill them on Day 2.

Oh hell yeah

Was thatโ€ฆa Bob Ross reference??

Noice indeed
Figured I throw some foreshadowing shade at himself ๐Ÿ˜† Also trying to open up to the group as well as rp IC talk is probably my lacking suit. Happy little trees anyone?

"...Do your time and reflect on what brought you here." JJ was reflecting alright, that and being bemused by the dynamics of their group already. He'd find his footing, or tongue at least, soon enough. Every now and then he'd nod or raise a brow as his new mates conversed. He'd been eyeing the paint cans near the stairs as it was. When Toby, was it Tony? Told them their new task that lit a fire under his ass. Work ethic was in his nature; it was interest that was his problem. But the promise of some seclusion had him itching to start the progress. He did a quick shuffle and half turn skip toward the cans and heard something of a spliff, someother about a bartender, and by that time his neurons said nicotine. JJ fumbled in his jumpsuit and found a softpack of reds. The stogie was mildly bent as it touched his new lip-prison. Aight, let's do this.

He did the standard misfit macarena as he looked for a lite for his vice. As the youth did so he fumbled for not so awkward words and could only come up with bad jokes. Still, it did more for him to let it out than let it stew. "Prince? Was it? I'm bad at names but I guess you're a little artsy. Name's JJ!" he exclaimed as he finally found his lighter. It flicked four times before he realized it wasn't so lucky. His temper muttered a 'fuck' before he threw himself back into conversation. "Well, anyone got a lite?" he asked the group. He also eyed a few who might not like a little arts and crafts, "They caught me joyriding, so lameee" Interesting gang they had going on here, he thought to himself as he lugged a bucket of paint over to the benches. The Birmingham native was keen on remodeling houses but usually didn't do the paint part. Perhaps he could chat up some of the gals of the group or even Love Island, to pass the time. "Busy hands and idle minds or something like that." fumbled JJ has his bravado wore out and work took over with a CccracK of the paint can lid.
