As for the idea of golems, if Rtron does go through with bringing the Zerkrain(can't remember, so throwing it upo anyway) and you have your dwarves in by then, you could teach them how to make golems of different types to help them combat the threat. This is, of course, if they both inhabit Teknall Range and fight over it.

Perhaps you can go with BBeast's idea? We all waiting to get this started, and you aren't the only demi waiting to get into play. Besides, it'd be a learning experience for Teknall, and an interesting one at that.

Something that's been bugging me for a while, and that I don't think has been talked about:

How big is the planet of Galbar? When I look at the current map, I can't help but think that its a pretty tiny world.

True, but since he's well out of the way, it'd be better to make our own. Whether that is done from scratch or evolving some of Slough's creations is up to whomever.

Would it be fair to assume that it would be easier to evolve a present species instead of making one from scratch? As in less power/might spent.
