As long as you give reference to when exactly each action is happening, like I did when referencing Roxy's attack, it's all good rping. (at least it is for me, because that's how I was taught play by post rping)

I don't see how I could have posted any of that. You practically had them on the ground by the end of your post. Having the guards move at that point would have only made them look stupid.

Either he is are he isn't. Those symptoms would cause him problems depending on what they are.

You can use whatever trigger you want. Everyone will have their own. I only used anger but because right now that is Roxy's trigger. If he is clinically depressed he would have a harder time shifting because he doesn't have the motivation to shift. Even if he thinks of his sisters every time it will take time for the memory to motivate him. Yes shifting time will depress with time and practice. It would go something like an hour, forty five minutes, half hour, fifteen minutes, five minutes. How long this will take will vary from person to person but it would take even the most motivated, focused person atleast a week or more to reduce the time.

Yes, the future actions have to be posted twice, however it gives those around me a better picture of how I plan for my character to react to the world around him. And most times the world doesn't do what I expect it to, so the "if/thens" get interrupted, which helps show a flow of time, and the actions of my second post build off of the differences in my expectations and reality.

I will attempt to forgo the use of "if/thens" in the future if you like.

The problem I am seeing is that it could become confusing. Take your attack post Clever girls to distract the guards, while I'm standing here so wonderfully close to Vlad. I had turned to watch Dallas and Roxy approach the tables of knives, and in so doing stepped a little closer the vile man, apparently unaware of his proximity. A quick step back as Roxy threw her blades, put me behind and to one side of Vlad, he saw me stepping back I think, he tried to turn and face me. I had shifted my upper torso and head already, and bit at his neck, grabbing at his shoulders with my paws. If the weasel didn't dive to the floor, I'd have his neck in my jaws, and then it'd be a matter of time before his neck was broken, I probably wouldn't even have to try, the tazers would do the trick for me. If he did dive to the floor, I'd bring my paws down on his unprotected ribs, since human instinct would protect his head and neck, trying to crush his ribs and the organs beneath them. By now the guards would likely be attacking me, I just hoped the other three would make it out okay.

First you are fairly new to changing.
Second you are teenagers
Third even with hours of practice you don't have complete control.

Remember that you have only been in the program a few months. Less then a year for most. I would say about six month. Teens aren't focused. They have a lot of hormones that would slow the process. Anger could slow changing or speed it up. If you use it to trigger a change then you have to use it every time for the first year until you figure out how to use other things to trigger the change.

I know it isn't instant but it should be close. His shifting should take a couple of minutes as well. I figure five to 10 minutes depending on the amount of control and practice. I have Roxy at about half an hour for a full change and she has had her DNA longer then anyone.

Then we're screwed because you never leave me room to have them react. It should have gone
1. Isa grabbed Vlad
2. Guards tranq Isa
3. Lucifer grabs Isa
4. Guards tranq Lucifer
5. Everyones goes to there room.

I think it's your if's that are throwing me off. I have never had anyone do that. I assume those are actions not future actions. Because If they are future actions you have to post them twice. Once staying what might happen and once for what actually happened.

That would be power gaming at the least...
I'm okay if he get's tranq... my post does not prevent that from happening nor does it presume that it will not happen.

Actually that isn't true. It would limit your post but I wouldn't make a post impossible. I have done it and I have had others do it. If you don't want to control the guards then you are going to have to give me room to have them post. Because Isa shouldn't have been able to grab Vlad at all unless he was right next to him. And then the guards would have tranqed him as soon as his hand touched Vlad. Which makes your last post completely impossible. He couldn't have twisted away from Lucifer or pounced on Vlad.

You need to decided if you want to control the guards or have me do it. Because so far everyone has mentioned the guards actions or lack there of. I haven't taken control of the guards simply because most post included a mention of their actions or inactions. I am fine with that as long as you take into account their training. But we have had too many post that make the guards look like statues rather then efficient soldiers. Last four post should have been something like.
1. Roxy throws the knives. Guards look to Vlad to see whether this is acceptable. He would allow it because of they are in weapons training.
2. Blue attacks. Guards would look to Vlad. (still waiting for Hailey to edit or clarify her post) Guards would be alert.
3. Isa makes a grab for Vlad. Vlad gets scratched while dropping to the ground. Guards tranq Isa.
4. Lucifer makes grab for Isa (whatever you want Isa's reaction to be) Guards warning him to step back.

Now I can add the guards actions our you can. Which do you prefer?
