Torture. What Demetria was proposing was in this facility they tortured mutants to see what their power was. What their weakness and their strengths were. To what end though? To copy and manipulate them? The ideas that roamed through Antoniette’s head, crashed against ever surface like the storms she had seen on the coast of Ireland. Her instinct to run seemed to become cemented. She barely heard the guards yelling and didn’t even notice Demetria fighting until her arm was grabbed and they were suddenly in one of those rooms that Demetria had been taken out of earlier. The sudden fire of a gun pulled Antoniette back into focus. She cringed at the sound and seperated herself from the two people trying to save her. She feared guns, they put her into a bad space and she had a hard time coming out of there. Her illusions used to help her, give her focus but she didn’t even have that now.
She looked at the scientists, now on the floor, from where she hid. They were bad people but people all the same. Perhaps they were forced into this as much as any one of them could be. It didn’t seem right to Annie but with the yelling and sounds of gunfire all around them, nothing about the situation was right.
She peered into the different vials and dishes as well as some of the computer screens that remained intact. The images on the screens made no sense to Annie. She saw the world in colour not in numbers. As she continued her scan she saw a cabinet lined with different vials with names and such on them.
”What about in here?” Annie inquired. Now with something to focus on, she walked around the bodies on the floor, pretending they were merely sleeping or knocked out rather than bleeding out. She opened up the cabinet and started rummaging through the contents. She didn’t have an honest clue what she was looking for.

Cuyler finished packing the herbs back into his bag and slung it over his shoulder just in time for Ayra to announce there would be no need to go to the Hefring. He looked at her with a bit of confusion but then she shut her eyes and started whispering. Cuyler’s eyes widened in horror as he understood what she was doing. Her hands seemed to glow purple, only confirming his suspicions but he didn’t stop her for fear of it doing more damage.
He watched her with fascination, not being able to look away from her hands and then a moment later his bow and quiver of arrows rested in her hands. He grinned, gathering them up.
”Incredible!” he exclaimed. He checked it over, confirming it was his and then looked up, grinning at Ayra. It quickly faded though when he noticed the blood flowing from her nose.
”Arya...that does not look fine to me,” he said and set the bow aside to retrieve a cloth for Ayra. Wasn’t one of the symptoms of the Sickenesse furthering nose bleeds?

Amarantha

Location:The Palace Infirmary -- Stairs to The Attic

Amarantha’s eyes remained closed while Becky spoke. Amarantha’s initial thought was that of her and Fyror not being the initial targets. Of course, getting them out of the way would be helpful. It seemed Prince Tristan had successfully been poisoned, confirming that he was the target all along. What had the three of them been in contact with, or ate, that caused only their poisoning? Amarantha’s eyes shot open at Tristan’s outburst. A temper indeed.
Feeling much better, Amarantha swung her legs over the edge of the bed and stood up. She walked to the end of Prince Tristan’s cot and stood, staring at him as he spoke. His tone was not appreciated, it was forced and Amarantha would have much rather him speak the way he wanted with her. She had no patience for niceties in this situation and she rather approved of Skaoi’s directness with the Prince.
The Physik's reaction to the Prince’s mention at the obvious assassination put on by the Eastern Snowplains was even more interesting. Amarantha merely looked at the shattered cup with little interest but watched Skaoi’s practiced hands shake as she attempted to sweep up the mess and apologize for her carelessness before retreating to her papers and books. Why so shaken little mouse?
Most in the infirmary medics seemed to been cut and dry. They had been in their respective positions for long and well practiced if they were given a job in the Palace infirmary. The commander didn’t oversee this part of the Palace but she felt confident in trusting the people given positions here. Perhaps she would need to reconsider, for Skaoi was direct but she also seems, skittish. Quite the paradox.
She continued to watch the Physik as she spoke in Tristan’s same tone from earlier. ”Yes well, your excellent deducing skills are invaluable Prince Tristan and an investigation will be started straight away.” She grabbed onto the boys feet and looked at him. ”What has caused such bad blood between your two kingdoms, your highness?” Her eyes flashed as she started into his young ones. What youth they still seem to have, such innocence. Amarantha didn’t get the chance to hear his answer or contemplate him further. She turned her head, hearing a rather peculiar explosion. Releasing Tristan’s feet she stepped back and addressed the Prince one last time.
”I will have a pair of guards sent to keep you in the remainder of your stay here,” she said and without a bow she walked from the room with brisk determination.
Each step she took away from the infirmary towards the attic, echoed with more strength. Every second that Amarantha had been down was another second that the Castle was unprotected. She had her sound guard but nothing was good enough for Amarantha unless she oversaw it. The complete opposite of her former commander. Puck was content to let others die for him while he pursed his desires but Amarantha played his game for long enough and won’t allow the loss of another royal while she was in command.
She reached the attic in record time and found Lyra was mere steps ahead of her. Although backup would be appreciated, her presence wasn’t a comfort.
”And where is Queen Valda?” Amarantha demanded by way of greeting.

Ahote Proudstar

Location: On the main deck of the Aricie

The company Ahote found himself in was rather, unique. Each seemed interested in their own things, having desires and auras all their own but there seemed to be a common interest in this home of the Witch Messiah. Whoever she was, she did not sound like someone who should be trifled with. The look Grimspound was giving Ahote also seemed like one not to be taken lightly. Ahote shifted uncomfortably from the man’s stare. He ran his fingers through his hair and fixed his collar. Ahote was a confident man but he did not enjoy the pleasurable company of men, he much preferred a delicate touch against his skin.
”It sounds interesting,” Ahote offered. ”How long do you think would we be?” he asked Minerva. He didn’t want to be kept from the ship long and miss it’s departure.
Things only became more interesting when Arnora mentioned going to make contact with the spirits who remained in the abandoned building. Forgetting Grimspound’s look, Ahote shifted back to the group and looked at Arnora, wishing to inquire more but it seemed the other young man had already shown an advanced interest in the topic. He gave name to the unique gift Arnora possessed. Spirit Seer, suggesting that there were more like her. Mutant powers, the ones Ahote had grown around, tended to be unique to the person. Although some did possess similar powers to others but that was rare.
The wind above shifted, blowing past Ahote and carried sounds of the crew from behind him, forward. He listened further still and heard a well known voice to him curse from down below. Within that same moment, Grimspound’s aura shifted and shimmered as it seemed to draw upon a force that Ahote did not recognize. He watched the man curiously as he mentioned trouble was before them. Ahote turned his head, focusing on the captain below. So there seemed to be.
”You are not wrong. Something has happened below deck,” he answered the group. ”What power do you possess?” Ahote asked Grimspound.

Just as Annie started to look away, one of the doors to the mysterious labs opened up and a girl was led out. Annie stared at her with fascination as she watched both her eyes and even her hair shift in colour. The girl spoke to her first and Annie blinked her eyes twice, focusing on the here and now. She smiled a little in return and nodded.
”What do they do to us?” Annie asked. Her father was always very vague on answering Annie’s more specific questions. OMEN was fairly new to her still, they had a different sort in Europe but nothing quite as efficient as it seemed to be here.
The new girl, now right beside Annie, spoke to Agent Flynn as if he were an old friend. She looked over at Agent Flynn, a new admiration and feeling of safety washed over her. Perhaps if this Agent Flynn stayed with Annie, she would be alright. Demetria, or Shapphire, leaned in to whisper into her ear. She listened intently as she explained who Agent Flynn was. A sympathizer, a friend. Yes she would have to stick with him.
Antoinette was about to ask if there were more guards like Agent Flynn when a sudden explosion seemed to echo around them all and shook the very floor they stood on. Without thinking, Annie reached out and grabbed onto Demetria, looking around anxiously as the guards shifted around them. Her eyes watched the guns, fear coursing through her at what was going to happen now. Run. Her legs seemed to twitch in response, so used to that sensation of running.
”Quickly, we must go,” Annie urged her new friend. Antoinette had no clue what the explosion that rocked the building signified, but it was a distraction that she didn’t want to lose. If they could get to a door, sneak through the confusion to the outside world, they could blend in and run somewhere far away from this place. After all, Demetria said this Agent Flynn was on their side and he couldn’t be the only one. They would have help to escape.

Hi! I'm here, sorry I'm late, what I miss?

Cuyler Eysteinsson

She sat comfortably on his lap, close to him and his warmth, just as Cuyler liked it. He ran his hands along her back and played with the ends of her hair. Another hobby Cuyler had recently picked up. He smiled softly, looking at the hair he played with while she spoke of the Sickenesse and duty. Yes, they should be off to the forest because a cure of the Sickenesse meant a cure for Ayra. However, Cuyler couldn’t help the need to be selfish with Ayra so close to him.
She leaned in, her lips brushing along her neck before she bit him. An electric shock jolted through Cuyler from Ayra’s advances and he pulled her closer but she didn’t linger. Cuyler groaned in protest rather then pleasure. He released her hair while letting his head hang back for a moment and sighed.
”Alright. And the walking gives you time to enjoy the scenery,” Cuyler teased. He leaned up and kissed Arya’s full lips once, a promise and a hope of something more before he released her and set her on her feet. He stood up after her, stretching past his full height before he settled and gathered up the herbs he brought, back into his bag.
”We should stop at the Hefring so I can grab my bow, just encase we come across something,” Cuyler suggested. He didn’t want Ayra having an excuse or the need to use her Magyk while in such a fragile state. Besides, when it came to hunting Cuyler was good with a bow. If it was an animal after them, he would be able to take it out.

Amarantha

Location:The Palace Infirmary

Titan looked at Becky curiously as she mumbled to herself. She may have had nice hair but she was nuts. He took on Becky’s instruction and nodded. He glanced around the room grabbing a sheet before he left after Lyra had dashed out of the room. What exactly was her hurry? He noted that she took a turn for outside rather than to the Queen. Perhaps Titan would take it upon himself to watch over Queen Valda while he pawned Lennox off on Luna. He reached the dead guard on the ground and covered him up in such a way that he wouldn’t get his own clothes soiled before he picked up Fyror and carried him from the hall to the third corridor off the Long Walk.
Back inside the infirmary, it seemed Lyra’s not so subtle disappearance was noticed by more than just Becky and Titan. Amarantha had opened her eyes, sensing a change in the atmosphere. She watched Lyra look out the window, stare for a moment and then quickly look back. She gave the poorest excuse of a subtle smile before she ran out the door, Titan following after her. Frowning, Amarantha turned her head to look out the window Lyra had been staring out. She didn’t glimpse anything but that hardly meant a thing. The commander shifted on her bed, trying to find a more suitable position for resting. She had to be on her feet before the wedding. If Lyra was going to fly off because she saw a bird rather than watch her charge, there was going to be a problem and some position changes needed.
Suddenly there was a resounding BOOM and the Palace walls seemed to shake. Amarantha looked around, watching some loose rock and dust fall from the ceiling above. She simply settled back into the pillows. If the Castle walls were being broken down, she needed at least five more minutes of rest before she could defend. Amarantha also heard slapping and looked to watch Skaoi with Prince Tristan, she smirked in mild amusement despite all the stressful things running around in her head.
”You shouldn’t rest,” she agreed with the Physik. ”You should be thinking of who tried to poison you.” Once again Amarantha shut her eyes, listening to the sounds of the infirmary.

Ahote Proudstar

Location: On the main deck of the Aricie

Ahote smiled ever so slightly and simply nodded. Yes, there were many things he learned while being aboard a ship. Of course Ahote had many loves back home but the outside world seemed to house many different types of people. Men and woman alike. The small girl who stood on the other side of Captain James, now beside Ahote acknowledged him. She seemed to recognize his accent which caused Ahote to truly smile. He had yet to meet a single person from the True North on his journey, it was nice to see that some people did know of the place though.
”I am,” he said and held his hand out to her. ”Ahote Proudstar, pleased to meet you Minerva.” Ahote had trouble placing the young girl. She seemed to have the complexion and accent that was found more North but he couldn’t say what exact place. His mysteries would be left just as that due to another gentleman walked over. Ahote looked up at the man as he approached, he stood tall and confident. He walked well for being on a rocking ship but most people developed a certain walk when aboard a ship for weeks.
He spoke with a similar accent to that of Minerva but he didn’t hold himself the same way that she did. Perhaps they were of the same area but different lands?
As the gentleman walked closer a shimmer appeared around him, followed by an extension of his demeanor and an almost skin colour change. Ahote examined his aura, noting the red orange colour that signified that the confidence within this man did run deep. It always amazed Ahote with the different auras he could see around the ship. Back home, people generally seemed to follow the same patterns. There was not much diversity where he lived beyond what mutation they developed. The man shifted his attention to Ahote and he smirked.
”I could say the same for you,” he said looking up at the man. He was a good three inches taller than Ahote.
Soon three became four. Another woman who Ahote had seen around several times came over to their side of the deck and leaned against the railing with them. Most often she was seen below deck and Ahote wondered if she wasn’t fond of boats or so used to them that it didn’t matter what she saw, it was just water. She questioned them all and Ahote remained silent, wishing to know what adventures his fellow travelers would get up to. His water travel wouldn’t be ending here. He had a farther journey to get to, a land he had visited once already and was eager to get back to.

Antoinette watched the rude guard curiously. People often weren’t rude naturally, they were made that way. Her other guard, Agent Flynn, seemed to have a genuine heart. Perhaps he thought this cause was just. When people didn’t understand things, they became frightened and unruly. Much like a caged animal. The people locked up would act how they needed to to survive and the frightened people would continue to use their guns to ensure some semblance of order. Annie’s eyes scanned and she saw a few agents actually carrying their guns, rather than having them stored away like her personal guards. She walked a little more quickly, despite the pain, in her eagerness to get past this floor.
”Is not having your true self limited, like a kind of death?” She peered into the eyes of the kinder guard, searching for an understanding she was sure to find there.
After she had been captured, they stripped her of her precious items, including her contacts. Her necklace however, she put up a fight to keep that secured around her neck. Normally, her blue eye would brighten as she tapped into her more enhanced intuition side but with the inhibitor they gave her working to keep her unremarkable, it simply looked like any other blue eye.
She couldn’t keep eye contact with Agent Flynn for very long though. The guns all around her frightened her. They were in a larger capacity here and truth be told, she was afraid to be shot. To hear that awful sound ring out around her and have nowhere to run to for safety. There were giant rooms with windows that she tried to peer into, any hopes of distractions but with the amount of guards, she couldn’t get one look around them to see what they contained.

Her secretive playful nature never ceased to amaze Cuyler. He watched her with mild fascination as she spoke, a tease in her voice which was only confirmed when she bit his bottom lip, then continued to speak. Her teeth grazed his bottom lip and sent a tingling sensation through Cuyler from Ayra’s advance. His bottom lip tingled warmly as she spoke. His own hand slid down her side, only half listening to her words as he was still distracted from the effect that simple act had on him. Thankfully, her lips connected with his and he kissed her deeply, teasing her now by lightly tracing her upper lip with his tongue before he pulled it back in and closed his mouth so she didn’t have access.
His imagination ran rampant and another tingling sensation ran through him from her touch and her simple words of what might occur later. Cuyler’s hands found her hips and lifted the ExtraOrdinary Wizard off of her chair with ease and set her on his lap. He looked up at her now, a smile on his lips as well as in his eyes.
”Well, if you insist on going into the forest, then I guess we should,” he whispered.

Amarantha

Location: Outside the Infirmary --- Inside the Infirmary, on a bed...by a window.

Time seemed to leave Amarantha as she was moved into the infirmary. She wasn’t completely coherent anymore so she didn’t notice when she was moved in or the fact that Luna’s demeanor once again changed. She came back to herself when liquid ran down her throat, the cure that Amarantha had demanded earlier. They sure took their time with it, didn’t they. She was feeling rather weak now but her heart found its normal rhythm again, along with her breathing.
Slowly, Amarantha turned her head to the side to observe the contents of the infirmary. There were a few wizard apprentices on beds in here, some looked like they were in the final stages while others showed possible signs of recovering. It was all confusing to her and she let the events of the last few weeks wash over her.
A mysterious Sickenesse was taking over people of Magykal ability and no one had been able to find a cure yet. Not even the ExtraOrdinary Wizard, who seemed to be showing little to no symptoms. At least, that was what the majority seemed to think. Amarantha was good at her job. She had seen Ayra when she would grab her head or her eyes when they seemed to glaze over. The ExtraOrdinary Wizard wasn’t doing as well as she claimed. The lack of Magyk was no indication. Everyone of Magykal ability had backed off. Now would be the perfect time for Amarantha to find the Port Witch Coven, she was confident they were diminished by the Sickenesse as well and it would be prime opportunity. However, she had more pressing matters within the Castle walls and Princess Luna was one of them.
Luna’s condition had seemed to be advancing, not getting better. Amarantha’s contacts had nothing to offer in by ways of cures or even a protocol to follow to limit the voices within her head. Amarantha had taken it upon herself to research more on Luna’s family history in order to discover more of the unique condition Luna was suffering from.
Amarantha tilted her head to the other side to look for Luna but it seemed she had left. Well, why would she stick around but it just meant that Titan would have to move fast so he could watch her while Amarantha was indisposed. She turned her head back and saw Titan walk in and took only a few strides to make it to her bedside. He bowed politely to his commander before he stood at attention.
”You are temporarily in-charge. If there are any changes with the Sickenesse or the Castle, come to me and inform me before you make any decisions, but anything less important then that, handle it. You are also now to look after Princess Luna until I am on my feet. Use Lennox as well if you find you can not efficiently do both tasks. And Titan, get the team up to date on poisons. We may have to bring a little more of the Young Army into them than originally planned.” Titan looked at her curiously but the words sunk in quickly. He understood the signs when he walked in and the mess outside was now making sense. His commander had been poisoned. Whoever it was, would regret it.
”Before you leave, see if Becky needs assistant bringing in Fyror.” Titan wrinkled his nose in disgust but didn’t protest as he walked away to offer his assistance.
Amarantha let out a small sigh, settling against the pillows and shut her eyes. The quicker she rested, the quicker she would recover and get back to her responsibilities.

Ahote Proudstar

Location: Lookout of the Aricie

The salty wind whipped through Ahote’s hair while he sat in the lookout, high up the mast. Blue was all around them, blue skies with a sprinkling of clouds and even bluer water. He had been on the Aricie for weeks now, watching as the ship brought on new passengers and departed others. He learned much of the world with the changing of people but he learned most from the crew and the captain. These people who had lived most of their life on the ship, going into ports to resupply and drink themselves into a stupor before leaving. It seemed each port was in perfect location to hear all the goings on of each country.
Ahote could never keep still, so after taking time to observe and learn each part of the ship and duty of each crew member, he started to help out. Learning to tie proper knots, navigate the seas and even sail a bit. Up in the lookout though, that was where he liked to be the most. Looking down on the people as well as following his enhanced senses to find the direction they needed to be in even better than the most advanced sailors. The crew had made the mistake of asking Ahote to spar with them, restless energy from being on the sea for days and although Ahote originally refused, their goading and taunts got the best of him and he eventually complied. Well, no one lasted long against Ahote and some seemed pissed by this and others, respected the man more. Ahote was glad for the sparring, it got out his restless energies as well.
The port finally started to come into view, even though he noticed it long before the others could see it. Ahote jumped down from the lookout, jumping onto a rope and slid down until his feet hit the deck with a dull thud. He walked over to the captain of the ship and leaned on the rail beside her.
”Anything you have me do Captain?” he asked, ready to help if needed.
