The silence was deafening. The silence was worse than her speaking to him, telling him things he didn’t want to hear, admit to. Cuyler wasn’t sure what he was expecting, what he was waiting for but when that necklace appeared in his hand, the final piece of his heart completely shattered. Not only had that necklace been a gift to her, a start to what they had advanced on, it had also been a symbol of their friendship, of how they had met and now, Arya was taking all that back by returning this necklace. He stared at it rather than her as she said goodbye to him and disappeared. Cuyler felt that familiar sparkle of Magyk being used as she used what was killing her to leave. And that, was probably the biggest slap in the face.
The room around him faded from his peripheral vision, all he saw was that necklace. It’s warmth fading as his hand began to shake. White noise filled his ears, a numbing buzz that could only be achieved when the body went into shock or the person was filled with such a rage that no sound could get through. Cuyler roared his unseen pain and dropped to his knees. Water shot out from his hands, from all around him and he completely decimated the library. If Cuyler never saw another book again, it would be too soon. Seeing red behind his tears, he crushed the necklace into powder. That task didn’t leave him unmarked though as it tore up his hand and he started to drip a steady stream of blood onto the floor. The pain was numbing, comforting. A reprieve of the heartache he was experiencing.
She would have never put him first, she would never be able to set her duty, her birthright aside and why should she? Cuyler was following his own birthright now. He stood, his face a mask over the pain even though hot, tears still fell from his face. She owed him nothing and he owed her everything but it was meaningless now. Everything here was meaningless now. Cuyler turned and walked out of the library. He left a bloody handprint on the door but he didn’t even register it or the guards yelling as he left a trail of blood down the hallway and out of the Palace. He followed where his feet carried him, merely a passenger in his own body.
He reached Wizard’s Tower, the former beacon of his heart but he wasn’t here for her. He was here for his mother and for his extended family. Once he found Klara he would speak to her, beg her to take him with her. To leave this place so he didn’t have to see the white stone of the tower any longer. So he didn’t have to go to The Land of Lost Nights and feel the death that followed him every time he stepped onto that grey shore.
Cuyler stepped into the courtyard, the tears finally stopping although the blood from his hand still flowed. He didn’t even feel it, didn’t even feel the remote dizziness of blood loss. That loss wasn’t even comparable.

Amarantha moved around the perimeter of the room where the ceremony would be held. There was a buzz of noise as people spoke up the upcoming wedding and what the bride would be wearing, what kind of vows they would be doing. It was all drivel to her. She kept her ears perked though to any mention of sabotage or danger of any kind. Her guards remained vigilant and the former Deputy Hunter walked with pride. She was a good leader, far better than the midget man she used to have to follow, to answer his calls. For anything.
She stood where the bride and groom would soon stand and watched the room, a twinkle in her eye and a hidden smile on her lips. Part of her wanted something to happen tonight so she could show off her skill and those of her men and woman. Her hands twitched at her side, sliding over the hidden knives she had strapped to her body. Whatever this night held, it would be memorable regardless.

Back at the Palace Boat Launch, Titan stepped forward, having heard Mryus’s inquiry.
“My commander has already left to see to the security of the wedding and yes, Lennox will be at your side as will I your majesty,” he addressed formerly. He didn’t bow though, remaining on guard even while speaking to his charges. “If you do wish to attend the wedding, then we should move.” His eyes flicked over to the sun as it started to set before he looked back at the royals.

Location: Wizards Tower -- The 21st Floor

Ahote walked into the building after the others, having grabbed the young Wizard and carried him effortlessly into the room. He took in his surroundings, finding an odd comfort in this place. He smiled a little and looked down at the wizard in his arms before he heard the inviting presence of a fire down the spiraling staircase.
”Let’s get him to that fire and then try and find a healer,” he said. Ahote wasn’t sure if anyone would be to get that mark off his face but he would try to find someone for the young man. At the very least the man needed to be set down and given time to rest from the trauma of the afternoon.
He followed the smooth stairs and set him down in a chair by that fire. Ahote then looked around the room, looking for another door and listening to any sound of nearby life that he could perhaps question for assistance.
Ezekiel Kel

Location:Dining Pavilion -- Camp Half-Blood

Ezekiel waved his brother’s concern off and moved to grab a plate of food before settling down to eat some.
”Maybe using that overworked statement will get me out of Capture the Flag, hmm?” He sipped his water and took a bite of his food. His eyes wandered while he ate, taking in the students who were shuffling in and out of the dining pavilion. It seemed that this place was the epicenter. Everyone came here to well, eat and then relax or catch up with friends before they split off around the camp.
He looked over the table for Athena’s kids and spotted Kristin’s blonde head. Which was saying something since they all seemed to have blonde hair. He smirked, remembering their quest and then she stood, going over to the brazier to make the sacrifice. Ezekiel cursed. He was always forgetting that bit. He grabbed a chunk of his meat and got up to go toss it in.
”You’d think we wouldn’t have to do this anymore. Surely they’d want something different for a sacrifice in this modern age,” he said to his half-brother Bryan upon returning to the table.

Antoinette finished her float while they waited for Lance’s return text. In the next room though there was a lot of shouting and then a loud crash, like glass breaking. They all heard it but Dean was the only one to move. He didn’t give many parting words, saying he would consider this movie if Lance was okay with it and before he was gone. Something flashed through Antoinette and her stomach turned uncomfortably. She recognized the feeling as her purple eye brightened in colour. She watched Dean race from the room before looking at Carolina.
”Something’s wrong with Dean,” she said firmly. In fact there was a heavy setting over the whole school now.
Antoinette’s phone chimed and she looked down at Lance’s response.
”He’s fine with it,” she said but was far less excited in the moment. Antoinette watched the door, unsure if she wanted to venture out of the kitchen now.

Cuyler’s eyes remained on Arya, even as Rowland moved to leave them. The two of them remained and he watched Arya as she began to pace and speak. Tears made tracks down Cuyler’s eyes as he listened to her correct him. A brief flicker of rage flowed through Cuyler at her observation of him putting status above them. Did she honestly think that was the statement he was making? Arya was far out of his league, even now he believed that. No, when Cuyler made that statement he was referring to the control he needed to learn so he didn’t harm her again, like he had before and right now, Cuyler was getting dangerously close to losing control as wave after wave of emotion crashed through him.
Then there was this vow she made to the Castle. To put it's people above her and everything she ever desired. Well, Cuyler wasn't part of the Castle or the people here and if Arya was stating she was putting herself second, then didn't Cuyler still fall into that category? Or was he even lower still.
”Perhaps a Wizard who understands this vow would be better suited to you as well,” Cuyler pushed out. His chest started to burn and become heavy with the words he just spoke out loud, words he had confirmed Arya had said. His throat tightened as he struggled to breathe around the breaking of his own heart. Even the death of his family, of his village wasn’t this devastating.

Amarantha smiled, pleased to hear Myrus accepting of Lennox and Luna’s assurance of the discussion they had had earlier in regards to the Prince’s safety. The Prince then turned to Amarantha and asked for a private moment with his sister. He seemed in good spirits though and Amarantha nodded, backing off just as the Prince leaned in to whisper to his sister. It must be some secret for even Amarantha couldn’t hear a thing the Prince said.
She looked at Lennox and nodded for him to return to his post. With the Prince now guarded and Luna with her guard, Amarantha left. She took to the Palace halls, nodding to servants as she passed and reminded the guards to be diligent as she passed them back onto the streets of the Castle. She maneuvered through the growing crowd with ease, listening for anything amiss as she made her way to the Tower for the wedding. Once at the tower she made her rounds to all on guard, confirming their positions and their readiness for the wedding and what distractions may befall them from having so many people in one place.

The Castle opened up below them as they flew and Ahote drank everything in. He held onto the talon’s of Grim’s dragon though, a slight fear of being dropped but he didn’t let that stop him from looking around. With his enhanced sight, everything looked more brillant from up here. The adrenaline coursing through Ahote at the moment most likely helped that as well. They started to slow and Ahote realized that the dragon was about to land. He gripped tighter, worried he was about to be stood on but Grimspound released Ahote expertently onto his feet. He let out a heavy breath, feeling much better with his feet firmly planted on the ground. Grims shifted back and fixed his appearance while Arnora made comment on his holding back. Ahote had to agree with the woman as he ran a hand through his own hair, using his fingers to take some of the tangle out.
Ahote looked around them. Now how would they get down from the top of the building. He noted the sealed window as their only means of exit. Well, Ahote could help with that, hopefully there would be a near enough floor on the other side of that window. Arnora walked over to him then and inquired about his well-being. He looked over and smiled at the woman with a nod.
”As invigorating as that new form of transportation was, I feel much more comfortable being on the ground,” he said and looked over at the wizard they had just saved. ”We should get him some help.” Ahote moved away from Arnora to the window. He looked around the well enforced window, looking for a hold in which he could grab onto and pull. Rolling his shoulders back, Ahote grabbed onto the framing and pulled, the force of which caused the window to shatter.
Although Ahote was covered in glass shards and cut multiple times, it mattered little as within seconds he healed completely. As the cuts sealed over though he felt a bit, off. Not in such a bad way but the Magyk from the window seemed to tingle up his bloodstream and through his body. Not sure what to make of it, Ahote brushed some of the glass away so they wouldn’t cut themselves before he stepped back and looked at Arnora.
”Après vous,” he said, waving Arnora forward. He moved back to the Wizard in order to help him into the building.

Ezekiel was at the point of sleep when all the sounds around him grew loud before dropping off into silence as sleep would claim him. Too bad though because at that same time, Bryan came in and popped a plastic bag or some other gods awful contraption. Ezekiel’s eyes flew open and he twisted to stand, cursed and fell out of his chair. His heart was pounding in his chest as he looked up at Bryan and shot a glare at his cabin counselor. He suddenly felt like an irritable child who didn’t nearly get enough sleep.
”I don’t think getting a heart attack counts as taking a break. Thanks for that.” Ezekiel pushed himself to his feet and pushed Bryan after a second’s hesitation. He was smirking though at his friend. Bryan was a hard ass when he needed to be but he was a jokester and the best kind of friend to have. He groaned at the reminder of Capture the Flag.
”I guess I could go for some food. Care to join?” Bryan ruffled Ezekiel’s hair and nodded. The pair of them waltzed out of the tent and headed down a familiar path to the dining pavilion, talking about the upcoming game as well as healing techniques and music.
Ezekiel wasn’t a huge fan of capture the flag. He often volunteered to sit on the sidelines and help with the injuries. There were always injuries and quite a few serious ones that needed attention immediately during any of the games.
Upon entering the pavilion, Ezekiel yawned and stretched before trying to rub the sleep out of his eyes. That attempted nap in the chair was probably a bad idea. He was more tired now than he was before he sat down.

Antoinette blushed when Carolina congratulated and hugged her on her potential movie date with Lance. She was really excited for it. While Dean added root beer to his float, Antoinette decided to add orange soda to hers. She watched the liquid settle over the ice cream and let it melt a bit before eating. Anything she had seen in the fridge for additional food would have to be prepared and Antoinette wasn’t in the mood for that. No, something quick and easy was more her mood right now.
She climbed onto the counter beside Carolina and ate her float beside her friend.
”Well if they disbanded the group then something serious must be going on for them to all be in the same place again after so long,” she concluded.
Carolina then brought up the idea of her coming along to the movie as well. She glanced at Dean, knowing she had a bit of a thing for him and nodded.
”Let me ask.” She set her float aside before grabbing her phone and sent another message to Lance, telling him that Carolina would like to come along and bring Dean.
I wasn’t sure what your thoughts on a group date would be so I thought I would ask… I don’t mind it being just us either. She added in the last bit at the last minute, feeling it would be the best thing to do encase Lance preferred it that way. She knew how he felt about crowds and she wasn’t completely sure how he felt about Dean and all his, Deanness.

While Arya spoke to him, Klara’s words filtered in and out of his head. Give her time, be there for her, don’t push her… Cuyler couldn’t mask the pain from his face though when she turned him down. He wasn’t entirely sure how to describe how he was feeling at the moment but it wasn’t good. It was breaking, slicing.
It wasn’t so much what she said, it was how she said it. She didn’t have time for him. Rowland’s passive words didn’t help to sway his thoughts, he was already tipped over the edge.
Cuyler looked up at Arya, his blue eyes swimming, bluer than blue as he looked at Arya. His Arya.
Later… Private… I don’t have time for you, no one can know of this. Of us. Cuyler shook his head, sniffed and scrubbed his face in order to abate the pain.
”No, I don’t think I will be available after the ceremony.” He looked at Ayra, finally finding his resolve. Things were shifting, changing.
”I will always support you Arya, in everything that you do. I understand you feel the weight of the Castle on your shoulders and that you must solve this problem and I never thought I would require this from you but, I can’t be placed second anymore.” His words were true. Cuyler was content following after Arya, listening and waiting, being there to catch or raise her up but when Cuyler needed her support the most, she was gone. She was holed up in the library, talking to him as if he were a colleague and not a lover.
”I’m no longer a simple son of a Northern Trader but a son of a Asgardian with powers to control the tide at my fingertips if I wish. I need to understand what this means and take the opportunity to learn while it is presented to me.”
To think, earlier this day they were on the 21st Floor in Wizard’s Tower, talking of things they would do in private together.

Amarantha remained along the perimeter of the Palace boat launch. She moved around more than the two stationary guards did but she still heard everything the siblings said. When they first hugged, Amarantha stopped and watched Myrus carefully. Nothing occurred but she still had to be on her guard. She smiled to herself with their conversation and how the two of them seemed to grow closer in this moment. United in their desire to find their own way in this messed up world.
Amarantha watched the Messenger Rat scurry over to Luna to relay its message. Amarantha rolled her eyes at discovering it was from Prince Tristan. Honestly, the woman should just slap him around a few, see if he still sticks around after that. He was more annoying then the flying bugs during the heat of summer. After the rat took Luna’s reply away, Amarantha stepped forward.
”My apologies,” Amarantha interrupted and bowed. ”The wedding is almost upon us and I wanted to introduce you to your personal guard Prince Mryus. This is Lennox Bennett. He goes where you go, no matter what I am afraid. He’s been briefed on the occurrences of today and has assured me he is up for the challenge.” In all honesty, Lennox didn’t even say if he was okay with being strapped to the Prince or not, Amarantha didn’t exactly give him the option. ”He’s been part of the Palace Guard for a few years and comes from a line of nobles within the Castle. I think he’ll be a good fit,” she said with a smile.
Lennox walked over and bowed respectfully to his new charge. He didn’t say much. Never did really.

Between the three of them, the crowd seemed to calm some. Ahote relaxed a bit as a swirl of colours moved over the crowd, attaching to a few people. There was understanding and awe within their faces. More so when Arnora used her powers and then Grimspound made a rather loud statement. Ahote was hoping to pacify the crowd with less excitement but the dragon seemed to instill fear into the crowd. Fear was a powerful motivator but it could also a dangerous one.
Dragons weren’t exactly, native to The True North. When Ahote was gathered up, he panicked a moment but Arnora seemed quite relaxed, while the Wizard had completely passed out. Ahote looked down at the terrified crowd. The next several hours would be rather interesting in this place.

They entered the kitchen together and everyone seemed much better in the less cramped area. The kitchen was fairly big, lots of room to roam which was made better with there only being a few of them there. Antoinette helped Dean get the glasses ready and pulled out several different kinds of pop so they could add whatever they wanted to their ice cream
”Three scoops please Dean,” Antoinette said happily.
She moved back to go sit on the other side of Carolina when her phone buzzed. Strange. The only one whoever texted her was Carolina and that was rare since they were always together. She pulled out her phone and simply leaned against the counter to read over the message. Thankfully when she got to the mansion, Guin set her up with a laptop and a cell phone since Antoinette had misplaced most of her possessions. As soon as Antoinette saw who had texted her she paused, blinked several times and looked it over again. Yes, that was definitely Lance’s number. She didn’t even think she had Lance’s number… Guin must of programmed everyone who had a number into her phone. She beamed as she read his request to watch the newest Wonder Woman movie together sometime. Antoinette loved wonder woman.
Of course! When would you like to go? Antoinette’s schedule was pretty well free all the time. She was just doing the set pieces but there was still time before that play started.
She slid her phone back into her pocket so if he texted again, she would be able to reply right away. She wondered if anyone else would be coming with them. Was that a question she should ask him? Antoinette had a slight crush on the son of Bruce Banner but everyone had a crush on someone here.
Carolina and Dean’s voice came back to her head and she refocused on the room. It seemed no one knew about Ayita. Perhaps Antoinette would talk to her later. Make sure everything was on the up and up. Conversation came up about the old X-Men returning.
”Perhaps Professor Xavier has some sort of special task for them? They are still involved aren’t they?” she asked them. Antoinette walked back over to the fridge, opening it up and looked for something more sustainable than just ice cream floats to eat.
Ezekiel Kel

Location: Medical Tent near the Training Grounds -- Camp Half-Blood

What a long ass day this was already turning out to be. Ezekiel had pulled on his headphones over an hour ago now. As usual, training started bright and early at Camp Half-Blood. Even though summer camp officially started just a few days ago. With all the new kids it seemed Ezekiel hadn’t stopped healing all the young idiots. Honestly, he wasn’t this bad when he first got here… Right? Ya, no, he was good. He smirked as memories from his first couple of weeks flooded his head. There were some of the hardest lessons of his life and he had to grow up quickly. They all did. He used his shoulder to wipe the sweat from his forehead as he worked on stitching up one of those new kids. He got a wicked slash to the leg the other day and waited nearly twenty-four hours before coming to one of the tents they had set up by the training grounds. Easy access rather than trekking all the way to the Big Blue House. The dumb kid’s leg was already infected, it took a fair amount of time to clean and repair the wound before Ezekiel could get to this point. Sure, he could have healed it completely, not leaving a scar but where would the lesson be? The scar would be a reminder to the dumbass to not be dumb.
After the kid was stitched up, he gave the kid some Nectar, smiling and nodding at him that he could go. Once the kid left, no longer limping, he collapsed into one of those camp folding chairs. He grabbed his water and drained the whole thing before shutting his eyes for a few minutes. Despite his inner commentary, Ezekiel loved his job. Loved the healing he could do thanks to his father Apollo. He had found his calling here and rose to every challenge that was presented to him. He lived for it.
As Ezekiel dozed in and out he thought of the recent prophecy. Rosie, the all knowing, always had interesting ones for the campers here. He wondered if there was some selection process. He pictured the Gods on Olympus, sitting at a round table picking out random pieces of paper, making little airplanes and sending them around the world to specific people. He snorted. Ya right.
"Upon the day a child is born after a great battle…” What defines a great battle, really?
“A world of darkness shall bring all of the gods to their knees….” Seriously? They have night lights on Amazon…
“An act shall bring the rise of four empires together…” Four empires? Well at least this bit was intriguing.
“And a random act shall usher forth the restoration of balance, or destroy it all.” A random act of kindness perhaps? Tough luck.
Honestly, he hardly payed attention to it. He would never be selected. No, that ‘honor’ went to one of the kids of the big three. It was utterly pathetic. The rest would never have a chance to prove themselves. Ezekiel worked on kid after kid who tried proving themselves to the children of the big three and got their demigod asses handed to them. Every. Single. Time.
What was the honest to goodness point?

The kittens were absolutely precious. There was a childlike wonder to each of them but a feral being to protect and scheme just underneath the surface of that. They were fascinating creatures and Antoinette just wanted to pet and speak to everyone of them. How else would you discover each and every personality they had? Vaguely she heard of who had arrived on this jet while she had been preoccupied downstairs but she was still too busy with cats.
She only came back to being in the room when she heard a large amount of giggling and a shift in the atmosphere. She looked up to see the man she was slightly terrified of covered in glitter. Antoinette’s eyes widened and she couldn’t help a giggle of her own which she quickly covered by standing up and faking a sneeze. She had to admit, the multi-colour of the glitter was quite becoming on Richard.
The children were up hiding near the ceiling and she looked up at them, cocking her head to the side and shook her head. Smart to be hiding up there but thankfully Marygold told them to get down and then leave. They were kids being kids but there were only certain people who found such things a joke and Richard was not one of those people. No matter how hard you tried. Antoinette had a feeling the man could only handle so much before lashing out.
Something happened though that drained Antoinette of all her intuition power that would detect the rising hostilities and any ill intent one might have toward another. One of the cats returned to human form. Anotinette gasped as Ayita now stood before them all. Without any understanding, Antoinette grinned and waved at Ayita.
”Absolutely beautiful Ayita!” she complimented. Her friend however, was intent on something else and grabbed a hold of Marygold. Antoinette looked alarmed and looked over at Carolina, who was now urging them to leave, as Dean had done prior but Antoinette hadn’t heard or simply ignored him and the hungry her body was still feeling. She nodded and left on her own feet with Carolina and Dean.
”Why do you suppose Ayita lashed out so badly?” she asked Carolina as they walked. She hadn’t heard Shelly’s statement or Allison’s rebuttal as she had been too preoccupied with cats and then Ayita who shifted in front of her.
