Antoinette McCarthy

Location: Hospital -- New York City, New York
Skills:

Antoinette looked over at Carolina gratefully when she filled in a few more loose ends that Antoinette didn’t mention. She nodded to Carolina and hugged her friend before she disappeared. Antoinette would remain with Mirembe for as long as she could but hopefully she would wake soon but they would probably have to get her heart stabilized first but Antoinette wasn’t sure.
”Yes, I’ll stay,” Antoinette said and quickly followed the nurse and the people who took Mirembe away on a stretcher. She wasn’t completely sure why she was so attached with staying at the girls' side. They didn’t have the closest relationship out of all the X-Men but Antoinette felt a responsibility for some reason and she didn’t want Mirembe to have to wake up alone in a hospital full of chaos and people crying and screaming with pain.
Ezekiel Kel

Location: Rest Stop/Bus -- The Road
Skills:

Ezekiel put his items away once they stopped, being of the same mind as Leda and preferred to keep his pack on him at all times. Ezekiel smirked at Leda's slight claustrophobia from being on bus for so long. "Do you draw or write or anything? I can give you some pens and paper to pass the rest of the time," he offered. There were individual lights overhead that she could use if she wanted and couldn't sleep.
Ezekiel nodded to Kristin as she moved away to use the restroom and took the opportunity to stretch out while Leda wandered. He noticed the horses as he stretched out but didn't take much note of them. They were in the middle of the country after all, horses were bound to be a thing. The smell he could stand at least. Not like the sickeningly sweet smell of strawberries. It was awful, especially when he worked out of the Big House most days.
"I'm going to go use the restroom as well," Ezekiel told Leda before leaving. It wasn't that he needed her permission but it was good to keep track of each person on the quest. Of course Ezekiel should have waited for Kristin to return so Leda wasn't on her own but Ezekiel had to go and what was five minutes.
He returned to the parking lot from the terrors of a male public restroom unscathed and with hands freshly washed, even though the water had been cold.

Ezekiel rolled his eyes when Kristin decided to start the game by throwing him under the bus. He already knew how that answer would go. He ignored Leda's jib and put his headphones in. The music quietened when a text message came through and Ezekiel rolled his eyes as he wrote a reply back to Rosie.

"No shit Rosie. We encountered a Manticore already and manged through.
On the bus to Texas now.
Text me if you get a new vision."

He slipped his phone back into his pocket and continued tracing out the spike on his paper. Once he was done that he started inspecting it, looking for any markings on it to add to the list of side effects, healing factors and ways to kill a Manticore. On the back side of the paper, Ezekiel wrote down questions he wanted answered.
  • Do Manticores carry different poisons
  • What other ways are there to kill a Manticore
  • Does the poison remain within the spikes even after removing spike from the victim
  • Other antidotes

Once Ezekiel had all that written down he packed the spike away again but kept a hold of his note book. He tapped his pen against the pages while looking out the window, writing down any other questions that popped into his head while they traveled. He glanced back at the girls, content to keep listening to his music and ignoring their game. Ezekiel supposed there were worst people he could be traveling with. Kristin had her mother's knowledge and fight and Leda had her speed and spirit. It wasn't a bad trio for going on a quest.

Location: Bus Station ---> Bus -- New York

Ezekiel snorted and shook his head at Leda's comment of him not being the worst. "Oh thanks," he said and put the nectar back into his bag. He didn't need to be told twice to get onto the bus and made quick working of climbing the steps and taking his seat, separate from the girls. Ezekiel let out a small sigh of relief, that was the first hurtle crossed and at least his healing was on point.
He felt a little shaken from the encounter but more disappointed with his poor fighting performance. How was he supposed to prove his was a good demi-god when he couldn't even keep from burning mortals. His confidence was lacking with this mission now and he was slipping slowly into self-destruct mode. Ezekiel wanted to be more than the one that healed every body. No one ever remembered the guy that saved people lives. No, they would remember Leda who slayed the Manticore in the wilds of a New York bus station.
He pulled out one of his notebooks and the spike from the Manticore's tail before looking at Leda and answered her. "I'd rather be turned into swine by Circe," he said before he pulled out a pen and started to trace the spike of the tail and scribbled out some notes and the sensations he had felt when the poison was in his system. If he could manage to hold onto the spike, he would do some more research on it when they returned home.

Ezekiel finally managed to yank the stinger from his shoulder but didn't drop it yet. He pulled out some nectar from his bag and took a swig before he stashed the bottle back into his pack and turned to face the monster. Kristin managed to make it back to them and provide Leda with a bit of a distraction but the Manticore was still able to do some damage. He watched the blood drip from Leda, already going into his more natural mode of healing. He tossed the spike into his bag as well, putting it in an area that would allow it to not do damage while he shuffled around in there. As he swung his pack back on and heard Leda's strangled battled cry before she managed to take the Manticore down and it disintegrated.
Ezekiel turned his focus back to Leda. "Kristin, are you good?" he asked as he walked over to Leda. "I think we should do this outside of the bus so people aren't staring, I'll try and make this quick." But with his track record, who the hell knew what would happen when Ezekiel tried to heal Leda. He placed his hands over her wound, not even bothering to wait for the consent of his patient. Let her freak out at him later for touching her stomach. His hands started to glow a brilliant yellow colour, almost like soft morning sunshine as his healing factor kicked in and stitched her up. He gave a sigh of relief once her wound was healed inside and out before he handed her a bottle of nectar, just encase. He wanted to save the bit of ambrosia he had for something more damaging, should it occur.

”And they can turn the Mist on and off kind of, so if they want to be seen, they will be. So much fun. I really hate this bus station,” he muttered. Kristen mentioned their last quest together and Ezekiel rubbed the bridge of his nose. ”Seriously, can we just rent a car or something next time?” Ezekiel shifted uncomfortably, trying to find this dude and seemed to be unconciously looking for the same one that attacked them a little over a year ago, as stupid as that was.
”Ah the bus, yes please,” he said and looked over at Janelle. ”You can take my arm if you want and I’ll show the bus driver your ticket,” he offered. It was beneficial for Janelle to take his arm or elbow in two ways, Ezekiel could lead her a bit faster and should they be attacked, he could get her out of harm's way. He fiddled with a small sun ornament he kept in a pocket at all times. When he pushed the center of it, his Murakumo sword would take its place.

Cassiopeia Hood

Location: Chinese Place -- Wichita, Kansas
Skills:

”To the park my sister,” Cassiopeia said once she was settled in the front passenger seat. ”So are we excited to go to a creepy warehouse and meet people we’ve never met before and try to save their lives and possibly get maimed in the journey?” Cassiopeia asked. She knew the Grimm Brothers tales of the fairy tales as well and she had a feeling their take on all those stories were going to be a bit more accurate. This wasn’t going to be a Disney fairy tale and as much as it still confused Cassiopeia that all of this was real, it was real. Which meant people could die but there was actual magic in this supposed land. Who the hell knew what would happen to any of them.
Cassiopeia rolled the window down a bit, shutting her eyes as cool air flowed over her and she tried to center herself. Her mind was racing and she couldn’t keep her emotions in check. She was up one moment and going through a crisis in the next. This was probably going to be a very bad idea but Cassiopeia was finding herself drawn to the unknown.

Willow Jones

Location: Willow’s House
Skills:

Once the girls made it into the kitchen, Willow poured them their drinks and handed one to her friend. ”Come on, let’s go up to my room and I will show you.” She took Annie’s free hand and led her friend back down the hall and up the stairs to her room. Willow was grateful to have a stable family, a mother that was now willing to tell her what had happened and offered to continue to help in any way. She was also grateful for having an amazing friend like Annie. If anyone could help her navigate the uncharted seas of being adopted, it would be her. Everything else that came with the news of being adopted, watching people burn and meeting Merlin, those were all things that Willow would address later. One thing at a time was all she could handle at the moment.
Willow closed her bedroom door once they were inside and walked over to her desk and pulled the letter out from her purse and handed it to Annie. ”It’s very vague but talks about my birth parents being alive. Like I said, I’m not the only one to get this letter and for the others it was word for word the same. Other than who it was addressed to of course. Then the park, those poor people… It was the stuff out of nightmares Annie and there was this guy there named Merlin and I really do think it’s the real Merlin,” she said, rambling now.

Ezekiel's eyes widened as the mist cloaking the businessman faded and a Manticore stood looking back at them. Absolutely perfect. For once couldn't it be simple? Like a unicorn or some shit. He raised his hand again to try and blind it but the Manticore swung around, releasing spike at them. Leda was missed but Kristen was hit twice and when Ezekiel stepped forward he was hit in the shoulder. He cursed, reaching for his shoulder as the world seemed to temporary fade and narrow around him when he was hit with an unbelievable amount of pain. He stumbled forward again, trying to find Kristen when he heard Leda swing out Ultraviolet and try to hit the Manticore. Ezekiel knew it wasn't going to work before Leda informed them but other than the creature's tough hide and painful spikes, there wasn't much else Ezekiel knew about Manticores.
Ezekiel turned his head back around to watch the Manticore and Leda. He wasn't entirely sure getting on the bus with mortals was a wise idea unless Manticore's were slow and the bus driver was fine with speeding. "Is it guarding itself somewhere? Most creatures have a soft spot," Ezekiel said, fighting to stay conscious because of the pain. He shoulder off his bag as carefully as he could but found he couldn't actually pull the spike out of the shoulder by himself. If he couldn't get the spike out it would continue to inject poison into him and the nectar or any other healing remedy wouldn't be able to do a thing for him.

Luna Braddock - Glimpse

Location: Mutant Underground HQ - Glimpse & Spark Plug’s Room-- Washington D.C.
Skills:

Luna sat on the floor of her shared bedroom, a bag of make-up in front of her lap as she meticulously put on her make-up, adding the finishing touches to the wing on her left eye. She checked the contouring of her cheeks, with the slight gold shimmer and once she was satisfied she packed the goodies away and slid the make-up kit under her small bed. Sure, the make-up was excessive but Luna liked to dress the part and she had always found the ability to be able to change your face with make-up important; especially, when undercover.
She walked back to the mirror one more time and pinned her hair up. It had grown out more, despite her idea of wanting to cut it. For some reason she no longer wanted it short and was thinking about dying it red as well.
Over the silence of the last couple months, with the undercover agent’s texts coming in, Luna had kept in contact with her parents a bit more and was working on honing her own skills as well in order to help herself and the Underground once it was go time. Once she was downstairs she noticed Havok rush from the Underground building. She frowned as she watched him go. Didn’t something happen that she wasn’t informed of yet? She debated going to Veil but she continued on with her previous task and focused on what she could while they waited for something to happen and that was keeping the lights on in the Underground and the water running.

Cayden Proudstar - Moonwalker

Location: Mutant Underground HQ - Outside -- Washington D.C.
Skills:

Cayden had taken himself out for a run after a light breakfast if one could even call it breakfast. It was definitely fast. A piece of bread and two slices of an apple but really, how much of an apple did you really need in order to keep the doctor away. The fresh air felt good for Cayden, there was very little activity going on in the Underground and Havok had been acting strangely. With no new kids present in the Underground really, there was much for Cayden to do to keep his hands busy. Other than learning from James and Luna about the inner workings of keeping the Underground running.
Cayden ran back towards the Underground, making a real push near the end and came huffing and puffing up to the entrance only to see Casper jump up and Havok run out and jump into a vehicle. ”What was that all about?” Cayden asked, slightly out of breath still. He stretched his hamstrings and quads while he waited for an answer from his friend. Casper and Cayden had become friends after the fun with Mister Sinister and made sure to keep the atmosphere light within the Underground.

Ezekiel smirked from Leda's words. He had to admit, that would have been rather entertaining but it probably wouldn't end well for the horde of people that would go after the fake OJ Simpson. Bringing out their weapons in such a public place would be a bad idea as well so physical ability it was. He watched Leda follow Kristin's instructions and fire off some of her rainbow light towards the business man monster. The irony was not lost on Ezekiel. Leda's rainbow light was beautiful but it was potentially deadly as well. Sometimes the most beautiful things were the most deadly.
After Leda hit the monster in the chest, Ezekiel twisted his hand, calling the sunlight to his fingers in order to blind the monster. The nice thing about working with sunlight was it was hot too. A few burns over the monster's face would be an excellent remodel Ezekiel thought. This is for you dad, so how about a little extra boost for your favourite? I'll throw in a genuine Texan steak for you when we get to Texas, Ezekiel added in, in silent prayer to his father. As much as he disliked the whole worship and sacrifice alter thing, he was superstitious.
He managed to concentrate the sun enough to do some damage but not to the intended target, which of course he was never going to hear the end of that. Around him a few civilians started to look rather red, one or two even blistering from the damage. "Oh fuck off," Ezekiel cursed. He felt more like the titan Helios and his daughter Circe than Apollo's son at the moment. Ezekiel redoubled his efforts and focused on the monster's eyes again. This time he hit the intended target and disorientated it a bit. "Now would be a good time for running and confusing it," he decided. He looked over at the civilians he had done damage to, aching to help them, especially since it was his fault but time wasn't on his side.
