Whatever had happened seemed to pass as Lauryn seemed more stable the more they talked. She still had no recollection of what happened other than feeling cold, which Zeke had also noticed before Lauryn attacked them. It made no sense to Zeke and then Demi was calling him a dumbass.
Zeke turned his head, frowning at Demi and about to call him out when Demi ripped his shirt, unsuccessfully and started wrapping Zeke’s arms. It barely did anything.
”Seriously?” Zeke didn’t understand the point of that. Sure he was bleeding and it hurt like burning sun but Zeke could easily go to one of his siblings and they would heal him up just fine.
He looked back at Kristin when she suggested going to get Bryan and Annabelle, who were heads of Apollo and Hecate cabins. Ezekiel nodded in agreement, hating that he agreed with her. He had been agreeing a lot with Kristin lately and it was frustrating.
Something shifted then and Zeke’s mind went blank, his body turned to face Demetri. Zombie Zeke walked towards him, raising his arms and wrapped hands around Demi’s neck. Zeke’s hands tightened without his awareness and started to squeeze. Zeke was choking Demetri!

Antoinette’s eyes started to widen as the wolf started to grow and then sprout armour. What kind of wolves were these? Antoinette got herself ready again when it attacked Lance before coming for her. Antoinette managed to duck out of the way in time, somehow. She dashed away, trying to figure out what she could do this time. Guin was busy with Pietro and then all of a sudden the shadows started to shift.
Antoinette looked behind her to see Klara, Bethany and the others from the Bifrost. She breathed a sigh of relief, thankful for the reinforcements. They weren’t doing so well here. Antoinette went and stood with Bethany. ”Not the kind of party I am used to. There were more, this one seems to keep growing,” Antoinette told the new people.

There wasn’t much time for a teamwork option as the remaining two werewolves went on the offensive. One went after Pietro and Guin while the other attacked Lance before coming after Antoinette. It knocked her down but she didn’t receive any more cuts, only a badly bruised bottom. Lance threw out his hands and Antoinette covered her face to shield herself from the bright light. It wasn’t as brilliant as it usually was though, being dimmed by a greenish tinge. A spike of fear grabbed Antoinette’s heart but she didn’t look as the last werewolf backed away, still on edge and ready for a fight. Antoinette held up her hands, throwing them forward this time to send a concentrated blast of fireworks to the werewolf like she had done with her last kill.
Her power didn’t fail her this time but it didn’t do what she had desired either. All Antoinette managed to do was burn the werewolf slightly which she guessed would only make it angrier. Antoinette got to her feet and aimed to try again. She succeeded in doing more damage but the werewolf started to glow red. Antoinette took a couple steps back, dropping her hands.
”Maybe someone else should try now,” she said timidly, unsure what the red glowing meant.

Ezekiel glanced down when he noticed shadows gathering underneath him and around him. They wrapped themselves around Lauryn and then Demetri was telling Zeke he had her. With shadows? How the hell was he doing that? Ezekiel looked at Demetri with confusion and started to shift away to move when vines joined in the wrappings pinning Lauryn down. Ezekiel was glad to see he might not have to go after all. A small red-headed girl came running over to them, asking if they were okay. She was followed shortly after by Kristin and Mary who asked what was going on.
”I don’t bloody well know.” Zeke nodded at Lauryn who looked relatively normal now as she looked at her bindings with confusion. The cold air around him disappeared and he pushed the top of his hilt where the sword shifted back to his keychain. He slipped the sun into his pocket and examined his cut up arms, still feeling the sting of them.
”Lauryn came over being all creepy and then started slicing and dicing.” Ezekiel looked at Demetri for his input and placed hands on either arm. A soft glow started around Ezekiel’s hands as he managed to get the bleeding of Demi’s wounds to stop but couldn’t get them to heal over. Zeke took his hands off and shook them out, figuring his own wounds were counteracting his full abilities. ”I’ll try again later,” he noted.
Ezekiel looked back at Lauryn, frowning as he thought about what the hell just happened. An idea occurred to him though and he walked over to her. ”Don’t cut me,” he asked of her before placing a hand on her head and shut his eyes. Zeke’s hand started to glow like it had with healing Demetri. Zeke reached out, searching for a disease or something foreign that could have been attacking Lauryn.
Some of his siblings had the ability but Zeke had never tried disease detection before. Zeke couldn't detect anything within Lauryn but he wasn’t sure if that was because he couldn’t, his wounds were stopping him or there was nothing medically wrong with her. Zeke opened his eyes and pulled his hand back before looking at the others.
”Mind control maybe? I could have one of the other Apollo kids look at her though. Do you remember anything before now, Lauryn?” He looked back at her, hoping there would be some answers for her behaviour.

Robin was pretty upfront with his skill and it didn’t upset Cassiopeia. On the contrary, she had a wide grin on her face and looked to Layla with much excitement. ”Oh, we are definitely having a competition,” she agreed. Cassi was a bit disappointed it would have to wait until after the mission but she supposed that would give her some time to practice. She wanted to brush up on a few things before the ambush anyways.
The dinner bell rang and Cassiopeia’s stomach growled before she even knew what the bell meant. Cassi held her stomach, looking at her father and nodded.
”Starved,” she confessed and turned her attention to the supper tent. Cassiopeia listened to Rose tell Layla she could use her knives. ”I supposed but you should fire an arrow or two as well.”

Willow sighed, rolling her eyes a little when Tinker Bell asked if she had a better idea. Willow had shook her head at Colby when he inquired about her spare time with cats. Willow wasn’t a huge cat person and spent most of her time with her husky running through the trails around her home. They were so far from Kansas now.
The group moved forward once they were all on the other side. She had winced a little seeing Colby fall and sympathized with him. The cat led them to a building where it promptly disappeared. Willow blinked in disbelief, spinning around in a couple circles before Tinker noted a window. Willow looked close and huffed.
”Of course.” The cat seemed to look at them all before continuing on into the building without them. Willow examined the building, trying to determine what the place was that they were about to break into. Willow looked back when she heard the window open and saw Colby go in first. She sighed and knelt down to crawl through herself. She managed okay and dusted herself off, looking around the room that they were in and the direction the cat went.
[color=#F08080}”What do you suppose this place is?”[/color] she asked, whispering.
Ezekiel Kel & Demetri Howell

Location: Outside the Arena -- Camp Half-Blood

Ezekiel glanced around the camp again before walking off with Demetri. The walk was quiet and awkward. Zeke was starting to wonder what the point of this was. Surely Demi didn’t want to walk with him and not talk. Zeke turned to question him when Demetri started talking. He listened to Demetri and rolled his eyes. He didn’t see much reason in apologizing. Demi would likely do this again.

It kind of caught him off guard though when the reason why Demetri really wanted to see him was to give him a gift for Christmas and his birthday. Ezekiel hadn’t received many presents of the years, just from his mom and a couple from his half-siblings when they could exchange gifts. Demetri handed Ezekiel the box though and he took it, staring at it a moment before opening it up.

”My birthday is December 12. I’m sixteen,” he added, encase Demetri didn’t even know that. He hesitated in opening the box. What if it was some prank and the box was empty? Demetri spoke about a wrist watch though so Ezekiel stole his courage and opened it up. What lay inside was something Ezekiel hadn’t anticipated.

There was a watch but there was also a book. The prequel to one of Zeke’s most treasured possessions. Zeke had always wanted to read the Iliad but he had come to camp and couldn’t afford his own copy. Zeke ran fingers over the cover before opening it up and read a couple lines before he shut it and looked at the wrist watch.

Pull the dial? Zeke shrugged and pulled on it. He nearly dropped his book when the watch transformed into a guitar. At first, Zeke was more shocked than anything. He had a perfectly good guitar, why would he need another but upon closer inspection he saw why this one was different.

Ezekiel ran his fingers over the carvings, noticing several scenes from the Odyssey placed around the guitar. He shifted his book under his arm to rotate the guitar around. Once he looked it completely over he looked up at Demetri.
”Why?” Zeke had no idea what to say. He was battling between being happy and waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Why? Why?! There was a lot that Demetri was expecting. Refusal, or anger, maybe even disappointment, but being asked why? That wasn't on his list of reactions. He opened his mouth to speak, closing it instantly as he realized he hadn't quite had the answer to that question. Or at the very least he had no way of articulating it. A small chuckle escaped, then another, a bit of nervous laughter coupled with the strange situation before him. "Really? That's your reaction is why?" Demi let out a long sigh before giving Zeke a smile.

A part of him was glad that he hadn't seen Zeke smile just yet, after all had the son of Apollo simply given him a smile then Demetri would've likely melted on the spot right then and there. "Like I said, I missed my best friend's birthday and Christmas. I couldn't very well have left it at that. And besides...You've done a lot for me already...it's the least I can do for you." Demetri cleared his throat, getting rid of any sappy sentiments that may threaten to make him tear up. "Figure this way you can take your music on the road. It's Celestial bronze so it'll be sturdier than a normal acoustic, and collapsible so you aren't carrying any extra weight."

Ezekiel looked back at the guitar when Demetri smiled at him. He looked over the crashing waves and rocks, the ship Odysseus was on and the sirens even. The detailing was incredible. Demi had done this? Put in all this effort for him, just because Zeke worked on his eye and gave him a kiss? And don’t even get him started on the pristine copy of the Iliad.

”Bullshit,” he said and pushed the dial back in. The guitar shrunk back to a watch and Zeke set it and the book, regrettably back into the box and handed them to Demetri. ”And what exactly comes attached with these presents, hmm? You want to come talk to me now whenever you want? You want to hold hands,” Zeke sneered. ”And when exactly am I ever going to get to hit the road with my guitar and not constantly have my life threatened?”

"Hey it's Celestial Bronze, maybe you can walk them over the head, though I don't recommend it. My last 'quest' had a ton of downtime during travels. Ya know...between all the fighting. Figured...well…" Demetri looked towards the familiar wooden box, now being handed towards him. He placed his hands I'm his pockets, shaking his head at Zeke. "I won't take them back. They're yours now. And we already hold hands, it's just when we're alone though. And I can come bother you anytime I want, it's kinda what I do." He said sticking his tongue out at Zeke.

"There's no conditions. No rules or strings. Just...a gift. Nothing more." A part of him knew there was more to it. Even though he didn't want to admit it to either himself or Zeke. But the conversation felt as if it was beginning to get too serious, too emotional. Something he needed to change and quickly. A sneer made its way onto his lips as he looked at Zeke. "But a kiss wouldn't be so bad of a thank you." He teased, clearly not meaning what he'd said wholeheartedly.

”Of course,” Zeke said. He looked back at the box, he really wanted to keep the items inside. He sighed, bringing the box back. Finally, his own copy of the Iliad and a brand new guitar. The one he currently had had been used when it was bought but Zeke didn’t care. It was everything to him and it still was. This, this was just something else.

Ezekiel looked up at Demetri when he mentioned a kiss and he glared. ”You really are pushing your luck.” Zeke opened the box, confirming the items were still inside and didn't magically disappear. He was still waiting for that to happen and would likely be waiting for that to happen for a while.

”Well, thank you… I guess. I didn’t get you anything so,” Zeke shrugged, feeling awkward. It was still so strange to Zeke to have someone like Demi care this much about him.

Demetri smiled when Zeke finally accepted the fact that he wasn't going to take back the items. Thanking him, in an awkward fashion that could rival Demi's own self. He took a step closer towards Zeke, feeling a bit safer now that there wasn't the threat of him shoving the box into his chest and leaving. "You didn't have to get me anything. It's October 20th by the way. I'm also sixteen." He gave the blonde boy a dimpled smile. Glancing over towards the light of the campfire. "Next Christmas, let's share some Hot Coco together, that can be your gift. I'm certain that spot looks beautiful in the winter snow too."
Now he was pushing his luck.

Ezekiel watched Demetri’s feet inch closer to him. His eyes followed up legs and torso until they landed on Demetri’s face. Zeke glanced at the missing eye, itching to fix it as was his habit but he knew there was nothing more that could be done. Zeke shifted his gaze to the other eye and frowned.

”Sure, if we live that long.” Zeke made a habit of not looking too far into the future. Call him pessimistic but the life expectancy of a demi-god was not high. For some reason, the date of Demetri’s birthday didn’t surprise him. With the dark look and black hair that covered half his face, Halloween seemed like Demi’s time to shine. Of course, being able to shift into whatever he wanted helped that theory along.

Demi wanted so badly to reach out and touch Zeke. To place his thumb underneath his chin and lift up his face and tell him to cheer up, to not be so pessimistic. But they were in public, outside, with campers nearby. Even if they only saw a silhouette it didn't matter. Zeke had a reputation to uphold. "We'll make it that far. I'll make sure of it." a part of him wanted to swear on the River Styx. To show the gods they could beat the odds. But that was a dangerous game to play, and Demi already knew what he would do if anything happened to Zeke.

Demetri fidgeted in his stance, shifting weight from one foot towards the other and playing with the ball inside his jacket pocket. A part of him wondered why it couldn't be Celestial Brass? At least Brass was self cleaning when it came to germs. He let out a small sigh as he looked towards Zeke's hair, watching how it glowed in the light of the flames, even from this distance. As if the light itself was attracted to him and forces to make his hair shimmer like golden silk. "Oh, um, weird question. Any chance you guys have brown contacts at the infirmary?"

Ezekiel gave Demetri a skeptical look before he looked towards the fire. One couldn’t ensure survival, especially a group of people who constantly put their lives on the line. Sure, Zeus might fight a little more for his flesh and blood but he may also make sure the death created an epic tale.

He still didn’t see anyone from the Roman camp. It was starting to irritate him that they were waiting around for their cousins to finish with some meeting. He shoved one hand into his pocket, holding the box in his other hand.
Zeke frowned at Demetri’s question and looked back at Demetri. ”Uh, no. Why?” Needing a coloured contact was more of a beauty concern rather than a health concern.

Demetri kicked the ground a bit, scuffing the front of his shoe with dirt. He hadn't expected Zeke to care enough to ask a follow up question. It was bad enough that his ADHD brain had caused him to change tracks so quickly and blurt out a thought in his mind he hadn't wished to articulate. His fingers continued to fiddle with the enchanted eye for another moment. "Don't tell anyone. But I shift my eyes everyday. Unfortunately the enchantment they placed on my new eye uses my natural color...I'd rather hide that."

Ezekiel rolled his eyes at that explanation. ”I thought we'd discussed that Demi. The eye colour doesn’t matter besides, I’m starting to prefer the blue,” he said with a shrug. He looked back at the fire, wondering why he just said that. Did he even really care that much? Well, Zeke was hoping Demi was going to shift into someone else to make this easier but he hadn’t.

”We should head back. Thanks again… bitch.” He glanced at Demetri again, giving him a bit of a smile before turning to head back to the fire. As he turned around, he saw Lauryn approaching them with a strange look on her face. Zeke felt a chill surrounding them but he didn’t think much of it. The closer Lauryn got allowed Zeke to see a glow to her eyes and then she was raising a sword. Zeke raised his arms to block but she just cut into his arms and into Demetri’s.

”What the fuck Lauryn?!” Zeke reached into his pocket, pulling out his sun medallion. Zeke tossed the box to the side, pushing the center of the sun and held his sword in front of him. Zeke stepped to block Demetri as well, not even thinking about it as he did it.

Cassiopeia smiled at her father’s response. She had always hoped he was the humble kind like some of the stories had portrayed. She wouldn’t have been surprised if he was just a bit cocky and overconfident though. One had to be in order to do the things he and his men did every day.
The camp was a decent size Cassi thought. From where they walked she could see a barracks of sorts, a large campfire with some seating, an armory, and a shooting range. Cassiopeia’s eyes lit up when she saw the shooting range. She tugged on Layla’s arm pointing it out before she looked at the back of Robin’s head.
”So, how good are you at firing an arrow, really?” She was hoping to entice him to show them and to have the opportunity to show her own skill as well.

Follow the cat? Tinker spoke of the cat like it had a mind that could guide them in the direction they wanted to be. How was that even possible? Certainly the cat didn’t look like the ones back home but this world wasn’t like the other one.
Willow frowned, watching Tinker Bell walk away. She looked around the square, weighing her options. She didn’t have a clue where she was or where she should go. Sighing, Willow followed along. She didn’t want to be taken or lose the people she had come with so this seemed like the only option.
They followed the cat around a corner before it disappeared over a wall. Willow huffed, hoping that would be the end of that but Tinker Bell wanted them to continue following the cat. She eyed Tinker when she offered to help them over the wall. Willow was pretty agile thanks to her kick-boxing but she wasn’t sure she was “hop over a wall” agile.
”Seriously? Are we actually following a cat?” It didn’t seem like there was another option. Sighing again, Willow walked over, stuck her foot in Tinker’s hand and grabbed onto the top of the wall. She swung one leg over, sat on the wall and swung the other leg over. The wall wasn’t high so jumping down shouldn’t be a problem. Willow pushed herself forward after much convincing but landed on her ass. A cat she was not. Groaning, Willow rolled out of the way before standing back up again and waited for the others.

The werewolves charged in shortly after. One came straight for Antoinette but so quickly that she didn’t have time to react. She held her arms up but too late. The creature swiped at her face and then at her arms. Antoinette felt herself falling, she caught herself from hitting her head but there was a searing pain running through her face and arm. It was like being scratched by an angry cat but times a thousand.
Antoinette took a minute to recover with the shield blocking her and she looked at Frigga, nodding her head in thanks while she caught her breath. Shortly after that, Guin charged in and kicked the werewolf in the face, knocking it back a bit so Antoinette could get to her feet. Ignoring the pain in her arm, she held her arms up, hands pointed at the werewolf and used what strength she had in an attempt to create a concentrated beam of fireworks, aimed at the werewolf.
A few fireworks of the rainbow variety fired off in its direction but didn’t do much of anything. Antoinette took a step forward, planting her feet and thrust her hands forward, trying again with all her might. It paid off and the werewolf caught quickly on fire, dying instantly. Antoinette staggered forward, dropping her hands to her knees and breathed deeply a couple of times before looking around the room.
”Should we gain up on one, one at a time?” She looked to Guin for an answer. Clearly team work had worked for them but there were two left and three not currently fighting wolves, it could go either way but Antoinette wasn’t a very good problem solver it would see

Ezekiel looked away from Demetri when he put the eye away, ceasing the temptation Zeke had to throw it. His eyes wandered over to Janelle and Jason again. He wondered what they were talking about but Demetri’s tone caught Zeke’s attention and he looked back. Demetri didn’t look too pleased about the prophecies or maybe it was because Ezekiel’s attention was divided. Zeke didn’t really care either way. Demetri knew how Zeke felt about their “relationship” and publicly speaking wasn’t on the list of acceptable behaviour.
It fell silent between the two of them and Zeke looked back at the fire, seeing that it was under control again. He moved his guitar back onto his knee to start playing again when Demetri spoke up. Zeke huffed a sigh, looking at the demi-god with dull brown eyes and black hair.
”Unless I’m forced, I’m not going on another quest. I’d like a break,” Zeke told Demetri. Demetri wanted to talk though. When did he not want to talk? Ezekiel looked around, not seeing the Romans anywhere near the fire. He sighed and stood, setting his guitar aside. ”Fine, let’s take a lap but we aren’t going far.” Zeke wasn’t going on the next death mission but if his half-sister or current crush was going, he sure as Hades wanted to know about it.

Cassiopeia perked up at the mention of food and nodded in agreement. They must not have been leaving too soon if they were talking about tours and food. Cassiopeia smiled at Layla when she was nudged but looked at Rose.
”You coming?” She turned back to follow her sister and father, hoping Rose would come along with them. Cassiopeia kept staring at her father’s back, still living in this world of shock that he was alive and in front of her. ”So...What’s your story? I mean, there are so many different versions of you in our world but the gist is you steal from the rich and give to the poor.”

Willow got out of the caravan once they were able to and looked around. She kept the scarf around her head and covering some of her face while she observed the people selling food and other items. It looked like a rather dramatic farmers market. Willow always liked going to those with her mother and finding the best fruits and natural beauty products. They seemed to have the same things here but Willow wasn’t sure she trusted some of these items.
Willow looked over at her companions, wanting to know where they should head now when Colby was approaching a strange looking cat. She supposed it shouldn’t be so strange but purple cats were not normal. Not thinking much more of it, Willow looked at Tinker Bell.
”Where should we start to look for our parents?”
