I grinned as Nero became flustered. Apparently I wasn’t the only one who had got affected by the other. ”Alles für dich, mein kleiner Kobold,” I leave them to get changed, or not, and head downstairs to retrieve the second bottle of wine Nic brought and a pair of glasses.
I don’t linger long, making my way back to the bedroom quickly. I pause and knock on my bedroom door, though, a strange concept, but I don’t want to walk in on them and make Nero feel uncomfortable or push my limits in resisting them.

I think about saying no and going downstairs to get that other bottle of wine, but I don’t. I sigh. ”Cassi said that all rich people like me who have trysts every night wear silk pyjamas. I thought the notion was silly, but she refused to return them. As for the other thing…” I grin. ”Nic was wondering about the different factions. I told him about demons and angels, saying they were more nuisances than anything. Am I wrong?” I give them the pyjamas and lean in to give Nero a kiss.
”I’m going downstairs to get a bottle of wine. Can I tempt you to have a glass with me?”

What’s my real move? I smile to myself, thinking of all the ways I could tease Nero, or help them accept the feelings they are feeling. I’m just about to walk back out into the bedroom when I hear what they say. I smile brightly despite myself.
I take another moment, partly to compose myself and not let them know I overheard. I step back out and walk over to the bed.
”One red silk pyjama set. Courtesy of Cassiopeia trying to be funny. Oh, and if she says I called demons a nuisance, it’s a lie.” I can’t help the twinkle of mischief in my eyes, though.

”Ja. But I wouldn’t mind that distraction and that’s part of my plan, don’t you know. I lure you in, ply you with compliments and sincere intentions, and then I put you in my clothes, feed you drink, and then make my real move.” I wink at them before I walk into my closet.
I toss my jacket down the chute for it to be laundered and untie my shoes as well. Before putting them back on the shelf, I examine them, making sure they aren’t scuffed. After that, I go to one of my many drawers and pull out the silk pyjamas. I sniff them just to make sure they aren’t musty. I really don't wear them. Cassi bought them as a joke one Christmas and refused to return them.

”Nichts,” I say shamelessly. ”I have some t-shirts and things. As well as a silk pyjama set I never wear.” I kiss the top of their head again before I sit up and lightly dump Nero on the bed beside me. I could have tossed him and he still would have landed on the bed.
I slip off the bed and stretch out before I walk to the chair where I had tossed my jacket and gather it up. ”Haben Sie Durst oder brauchen Sie noch etwas?”

I laugh and nuzzle them. ”Dein Geheimnis ist bei mir sicher.” I whisper. I find myself fiddling with their sweater. ”Möchten Sie etwas anderes zum Schlafen?”

I chuckle, rubbing my hand up and down Nero’s back in a soothing way. ”Weil sie lustig sind. When I retrieved the book from my office and ran into you, I did not know how tense I was not being in your presence. Now that I finally get to hold you, I haven’t felt more relaxed. I wouldn’t get to feel that release if it weren’t for emotions,” I confide.
I kiss Nero’s head while I wrap one arm securely around their waist. My other remains relaxed so my hand can play with their hair. ”Ich liebe es, dich zu halten.”

I watch them curiously, listening to their every word like it's the last time I’ll ever hear them speak. I believe they are okay, but I believe there is something more going on. I smile softly.
”Komm her.” I pull them close but tuck their head under my chin. My arms wrap securely around Nero, and I just hold them. ”Ich gehe nirgendwohin. Wir haben Zeit.” Truthfully, I don’t know how much time I will get with them, but I’ll make sure it’s enough time. I really don’t want to let go of Nero anytime soon. And for right now, as long as I got to hold or touch them, I was happy.

Despite how much I am enjoying myself and enjoying their breathless noises, I stop when I feel them tense momentarily under my hands, and their kiss falters. I pull back, feeling breathless and warm. ”Do you want to stop, Kleiner Kobold.” I loosen my grip on Nero’s hair and brush it back gently, running their hair through my fingertips so I can see their warmed face more clearly.
