I smile and lean back in my seat to watch Nic walk around to the driver side of the car. It felt good to be wanted by someone again, and to want them as well. I was glad I got out of my own head and was able to take Caden’s advice. Of course, it was still too soon to determine how serious Nic and I would be, but for now it was fun and enjoyable.

I laugh with Kimiko, shaking from it and holding onto Nero in return. I wipe tears from my eyes near the end of my laughing fit and sigh, taking a sip of my drink to recover.

Avery looks dejected as he retakes his seat, unable to prank Kimiko or I due to Nero telling him to back down.

I smirk at the story, not picturing the two of them doing anything else. I glance at Nero, though, as I stand beside the pool side. I’m still willing to jump in and make a beeline for Kimiko’s room if Nero wants me to and will defend me.

I start to laugh, watching Avery stand. I could care less if I had wet sheets. Nero and I could sleep in their room or on the floor for all I cared. ”It’ll take me a moment to find a key. There is an easier solution though,” I remind Kimiko. She could just tell them what we did in Spain.

I laughed and nodded. ”Either that or he was being a gentleman and didn’t say anything,” I say. I squeeze Nic’s arm in thanks for opening the car door as I pass him, and I get inside. Part of me is sad to be leaving, but I know we are spending time together tomorrow.

I change my clothes quickly and slip my feet back into my damp shoes. I honestly debate just going barefoot, but I don't know what is on the ground in Nic's parking lot. I fold the pants I was wearing and carry them back out and set them on the dryer in case Nic wants to wash them before he wears them again.

They really were comfortable but I wasn't one who wore my partners clothes, unless it was a late night walk to the kitchen for snacks.

”It was good to see you again, Ren. Maybe we can plan a game night,” I suggest.

I chuckle when Kimiko plays coy with Avery. I wrap my arm back around Nero when they reclaim my lap and smile. ”Besides, needing to wear red is a myth. Bulls are colorblind. Most people just wear it so if you do get impaled by the bulls horns the audience can't see you bleed out,” I say matter-of-fact.
