The primal urge to obsessively access your uni portal to see if your classes have been released, so you can read the syllabi thirty-seven times before class next week.

Some might think being a reaper would be a lonely life, but it was quite the opposite. There were hundreds of reapers all around the world working for Death. Many times, there were one or two reapers around, especially if there was a multi-causality event. But it was more than that for Christian. He loved watching people going about their lives. He would often sit in one location for hours at a time, watching people coming and going about their day. Going to work, coming home from work. He found life to be fascinating.

Christian had no memory of living. He didn’t even know how he became a reaper. It seemed like he was sleeping until Death woke him to give him his assignment. Ever since then, Christian had an appreciation for life and those who lived it before they lost it.

Currently the job had him in Oklahoma, hovering around a vampire nest. These places always had one or two deaths a day, it seemed. Christian didn’t understand why the creatures couldn’t live without killing. It seemed so strange to him. Despite his confusion, Christian stood in the bushes, hovering around the abandoned-looking building until he felt the inevitable pull in his chest that someone’s life had ended.
The shadows ebbed and flowed, waiting for Annika to take her chance. It was as if the shadows were wanting her to learn how to wield and work with them. Annika smiled to herself. She never felt alone in this place, despite her only real company being her father and the shadow cat when it decided to be social.

”Like manifesting?” From what Annika understood of manifesting was that an intention was set before working on steps towards that goal, but subconsciously. Then seemingly from nothing, the universe would deliver on what was originally manifested.

Annika watched the shadows until images started to dance within her mind's eye. The girl reached forward, her hand and half her arm disappearing into the shadows. Annika stretched her fingers out, brushing them along nothing. She found a few solid objects but nothing came to her touch immediately. Annika took a deep breath in and shut her eyes until something pushed into her hand.

She opened her eyes as she pulled out a long, slender wooden pole with a string attached to one side. The string pulled on the wooden pole to connect the ends together. Tendrils of shadows slipped over the curved object while Annika examined it.

Bow.

The word came to Annika from somewhere deep within her mind. She didn't think she had come across such an object before, but maybe she had read something long ago. However, Annika's free hand shot forward into the shadows, and produced another wooden object. It was smaller and thinner in size with shadowed feathers on the end.

As Annika examined the foreign object closer, she noticed a groove in the wood. The perfect place to hold a string. Following her intuition, Annika notched the arrow onto the bow and lifted the joined objects. She pulled the string back until her fingers brushed her cheek. The motion was new to Annika and yet it felt so completely familiar. She released the arrow and watched it soar through the house before it connected with a target that had appeared. She grinned before looking at her father for approval.
Hidden Among the Shadows

Within the world of the supernatural, Reapers are responsible for keeping balance. If the Natural Order becomes unstable, catastrophic events will happen. Wars, tsunamis, or diseases can run rampant and take out hundreds of thousands of people. So what will happen when a Reaper turns sympathetic and a Human [...]. When the two team up to hunt those less deserving of life, will it offset the balance or give rise to new life on Earth?

Based on lore from the TV show "Supernatural", join us in creating a fan-inspired role-play that pushes the boundaries of what we know about the after-life and that which remains hidden among the shadows.

Using lore from "Supernatural", we aim to create a new story about a reaper who harbours a soft spot for the humans he is meant to reap. When a human learns about the creatures that go bump in the night, she becomes set on avenging those she lost. Our reaper and human team up to stop those who wish to do harm in the world.
Annika watched the shadows enclose around her. It happened slowly and yet at one moment Annika could see and then she couldn't. She reached her hand out, expecting to grasp something solid but connected with nothing. Although Annika was comfortable in the shadows, her heart did start to pound the longer she remained blind.

Jack's hand connected with Annika's shoulder, causing her to jump until she could suddenly see; everything. She turned her head this way and that, seeing the world around her in a different light. It was then that Annika realized she didn't understand the shadows, not the way Jack did. There was an entirely different level to them that she had yet to unlock.

Annika looked at Jack while he explained. She felt suddenly small and rather inexperienced. She looked away from Jack, feeling sheepish.

”You know I lack patience,” she said, looking back at him. ”But I'll try, dad. I'll work on it,” she promised him.

...people who don’t care. Demetri’s words cut through what was left of Ezekiel’s heart. First, Nancy ripped it out, and then Demetri squished it into the ground. No matter what Ezekiel tried to do, be an asshole, be generous, or compromise his feelings, he wasn’t good enough. He couldn’t be enough.

While Zeke felt everything shattering on the inside, everything was exploding on the outside. He watched Nancy launch herself at Demetri after calling him a derogatory term, one that made Zeke feel sick to his stomach.

His entire body vibrated with a deep anger that he hadn’t felt since he was a kid when his powers had first developed. Ezekiel felt he was on the verge of losing control, but he didn’t care because everything was out of control anyway.

”EVERYONE JUST SHUT UP!” he screamed. He looked at Demetri, who had blood streaming down his face; Nancy, who had Demi’s blood on her hands; Niah, in her quiet rage; and Alexios and Hercules, who were holding people back. ”Nancy, you can’t use that word anymore. Demetri, Leandra may have been your friend, but she has a long history with New Rome. One that predates your friendship. Everyone just…back off and worry about yourselves.” Zeke had moved to stand in between both groups at this point. His back was to Nancy while he looked at Alexios helping Demetri, the final nail in the coffin.

Raúl slowly smiled when the woman asked to see his badge. He supposed she had every right to, even if she was just a bystander rather than a witness to the crime. Raúl slipped a hand inside his jacket and pulled out a card. He flipped it over and handed it to her.

”Raúl Alonso. I’m a private investigator. I was called in to assist with the case,” he briefly explained to Amara. ”I would suggest heading home. The streets at night won’t be safe until whatever did this has been stopped,” Raúl stated.
The shadows shied away from Annika’s touch, seeming to taunt her. They danced around her hand before fading from her completely. Annika opened her eyes, dropped her hands, and pouted. She stared at her father’s shadow knife, still intact even though Annika had been trying to mold the shadow to her will.

Annika crossed her arms and huffed. Jack’s words filtered in, informing her of his struggles, but Annika didn’t understand it. What she did understand was what Jack could do. Now. She wanted to do the same and then improve upon it.

”See through shadows? How do you see through shadows?” Annika’s voice turned petulant, annoyed with her lack of progress.
