Bio

Long time casual role player who loves tales of adventure! I enjoy tabletop games, play-by-post, and even LARP!

Wild (and sometimes weird) west and medieval fantasy games with an 'old-school' D&D feel are my favorite.

In real life, I'm a software engineer and wanna-be farmer. I have a little garden and some chickens that like to destroy my flower beds. But I like 'em anyway and they all have names. ;) Sometimes they lay me some breakfast.

Other hobbies include dog agility and archery.

Glenn followed after Roan, since he was headed in the right direction to go to Dotta's little farmstead. He looked slightly worried at the mention that it would be more than a couple day trek. "I hope Ms Dotta don't mind too much. How far you think it is, Roan?"

The unlikely pair followed the path that wound it's way down toward a slow-moving river where a small house sat nestled in a wide bend. The widow's little place looked tired, though it was obvious that it had some recent repairs to the thatched roof and to parts of the fence that held a few head of cattle.

"Ms Dotta!" Glenn called as they walked up the narrow pathway and a woman who was probably in her thirties appeared only a few moments later, wiping her hands on her apron. "Just in time for lunch," she said, holding the gate open for them both and giving Roan an appraising look.

"This is Roan," the bulky young man said by way of explanation, ducking his head slightly to enter the door.

I think this could be interesting. :) Are you thinking that bounty hunters or soldiers would be searching for our characters?
I'm wondering if Drache lost interest. Any other takers?
As the small party left the town behind and ventured north along the rutted road, Straw set a relatively easy pace. Although he was rather tall and lean, one might get the impression that he was not often inclined to hurry. His age was hard to judge, but definitely a few strands of gray could be picked out among his messy blonde hair that appeared long overdue for a trimming.

The road led almost straight north as it passed through mostly open fields where farmers tended their fields; using horses and oxen to turn up the dirt, with children following behind to cast the seed. Not far in the distance, the open fields ended and the road plunged into the forest.

"Ain't much of a cook myself," Straw admitted. " 'Less you count charring a rabbit over a stick." But he looked pleased that Khoran had volunteered for the duty.
Glenn looked relieved when Roan handed the map back and decided right away that this must be a trustworthy individual to return something as valuable as a treasure map. He tucked the parchment safely into his shirt to guard it. Then grinned, already convinced there was indeed treasure to be found and that it would be a simple matter of walking to the spot of the 'X' and digging it up. "Worth a shot..." he said, echoing Roan's words.

"I have 9 silver pennies..." he announced proudly to Roan. "Will that get us enough supplies?" he asked, willing to dump his entire life's savings into this endeavor. "And ole Miss Dotta gave me a shovel awhile back. We could use it to dig up the treasure." The widow, Dotta, gave Glenn shelter and food in return for his help tending her livestock and garden. The thought of her made Glenn pause for a moment. "Guess I'd better make sure Miss Dotta won't mind too much if I leave for a couple days," he said, unaware that their quest might take considerably longer than a couple days.
Do you guys want some combat encounters on the road to the ruins? :)
Glenn listened intently to Roan's explanation, trying to keep up with his train of thought. The word "treasure" in particular stuck with Glenn and visions of piles and piles of gold coins entered his mind.

He blinked a few times as it seemed to take a moment to finish processing all that Roan had just said. "Hmm..." he pondered, scratching his chin thoughtfully. Finding treasure would sure beat the hard labor of farming. As the boy rolled up the map, Glenn watched him, waiting for the much smaller boy to return it.

"My name is Glenn," the large youth said slowly, eyes still on the rolled up map. "Hey, Roan, you really think there might be treasure there? Old man Calhoun liked to talk bout treasure. And 'bout slayin' monsters. You think there might be monsters too?"
Hi Drache! I must admit I'm usually more at a casual level. But I'll do my best and as long as you're okay with that, I am too! Whatever gender you'd like to play is fine and multiple characters would be awesome. (Bare minimum I was hoping we'd each have an adventurer and a drow character.)

As for race, as long as it's nothing too horribly powerful (for example, I don't think a vampire or half dragon would work well) I'm cool with it. If you're still interested, just say the word and I'll put the intro up as an RP!
I'd like to do a fantasy RP where our characters get captured by drow slavers and must engineer an escape. I'm looking for an RP partner that is willing to help me make this up as we go and to throw in some of your own NPCs and plot twists. This will be the story intro, but who knows where it will go from there! Any takers? :)

"We should be close," said the old man excitedly, pointing at his barely legible map. "The ruins shouldn't be much farther."

"About time," muttered Althea under her breath as she adjusted her bow and rubbed her hands together to warm her cold fingers. It was early spring and the small group had been on the road for several days now. She, along with a couple others, had been hired by the old man as protection while he searched for some trinket or other that was supposed to be in these ruins he was leading them toward.

Althea thought the old man was a little off his rocker. But no matter. It was a gold in her pocket either way.

The small group trudged on, unaware of what waited for them at the ruins...
