@Crab... see if you can find out what she's interested in. Then ask her about it. No flirting need be involved to just break the ice. :)

Bio

Long time casual role player who loves tales of adventure! I enjoy tabletop games, play-by-post, and even LARP!

Wild (and sometimes weird) west and medieval fantasy games with an 'old-school' D&D feel are my favorite.

In real life, I'm a software engineer and wanna-be farmer. I have a little garden and some chickens that like to destroy my flower beds. But I like 'em anyway and they all have names. ;) Sometimes they lay me some breakfast.

Other hobbies include dog agility and archery.

@Twhirtley - Okay, no biggie. Is there something about my post you want me to change?

"Hey, don't leave me here," Wystan was staring at the skeletons, not feeling the warm and fuzzies over the apparent injuries. Whatever had killed them should be long dead and gone by now, right? He hurried after Jasmine, Thomas, and Fren. "You sure he's trapped under there?" he asked Thomas, "Maybe he made it out the other side."

As the cut off adventurers took the southern passage, the sound of running water met their ears before their lanterns illuminated a statue, head bowed and hands folded in prayer. At it's base was a wide, shallow pool. Various coins of silver and gold could be seen at the bottom of the pool.

The dust from the cave-in made it's way down the wet passageway toward Hogarth and the Smith siblings. "Back there!" Jane exclaimed, pointing back the way they came. Quickly, she hurried to where Marzipan was cradling Gerard's head in her lap. The pair were barely visible in the dim lantern light as Jack and Roman approached from the other direction.

"Oh no!" she stopped in her tracks, only able to stare helplessly.

Jack approached quickly, examining the cave-in as the dust cleared, "Did you see the others? Were they caught in the collapse? Or just trapped on the other side?"

However, his question was answered only a moment later when he heard Thomas's pick striking from the other side. "I'LL GO GET HELP!" He shouted as loudly as he could, unsure if those on the other side could hear him. "I'll be back as soon as I can. Roman, com'on."

Okay, we're closer than I at first thought. :) The only place that we're different is with the Smiths... they went straight and are at the rotted door with Hogarth.

40 - river bank where the small boat is secured.
Pink - Entrance
Black - Cave In
Greens - Roman & Jack
Orange, Green, Light Blue, Gray - Group by the rotted door (Jane, Will, Beevil, Hogarth)
49 - Where Jasmine, Fren, & Thomas are headed. (I'll put details in the IC)

I'll move my map into the IC too with my next post and start expanding it as more is explored.
Far Side In Tunnel: Jasmine, Thomas, Fren

Far Side Center, no tunnel chosen: Wystan, Beevil, Jane

Near Side, cut off from everyone else: Hogarth, Marzipan, and Gerard's corpse

Jack, Roman would be earlier on before the Near side of the collapse, leaving the Dry Path open to Hogarth, Marzipan, Jack, and Roman

I think I may need to figure out how to show my map (with the unexplored parts invisible). It may be ugly... my image manipulation skills are fairly limited... But you and I are on such vastly different pages that I feel I haven't done a good job with my descriptions. :)
Hey guys... do my lists sound right for which characters are on either side of the cave-in?

Near side of the collaspe:

Jane, Beevil, Will, Hogarth, Marzipan, Gerard (at least his head!)

Far side:

Fren, Jasmine, Thomas, Wystan

??:

Jack, Roman (What do you guys think of having them on the 'near' side and they volunteer to head back to town for help? )
Calvin was hanging on the elf's every word. "Can't say I'd mind seeing those dragon skeletons," he said, a moment after she paused. "Though I don't know if I'd have the stomach for those cultists. Pray tell, what was the voice?"

The story seemed to have caught Straw's attention too and he moved a bit closer to the fire, checking on the bird now roasting over the fire.
He nodded, glancing quickly at the strange orb where her eye should have been, but looked away again just as fast. It creeped him out slightly, the sickly color, how it didn't move in sync with her real eye. So he busied himself getting the grouse positioned on a roasting stick over the fire while she covered the orb again and then sat next to her.

"I can't imagine it's boring," he said. " 'sides... we got a little time before that bird is ready to eat."
Props to @Twhirtley for the first PC death scene. I might have been secretly hoping one might get caught in that. :)

(Sorry, sorry! I'm falling behind on everything lately!)

Calvin beamed at the praise from the elf. "Thanks. My brother and I spent a lot of time competing over who was the better shot. Got pretty good at it, I guess." As Cyriana started the fire, the young archer started gutting and plucking the bird and couldn't help but smile to himself slightly, still energetic and excited for the adventure even after a day of walking. "Oh... did you say something?" he glanced over at the elf after thinking she had said something to him.

Straw unpacked his bed roll, relieved that they had not objected to camping here for the night. After meeting the trio on the road earlier in the day, he was anxious indeed to avoid Dawsbury lest he was recognized.
