Bio

Long time casual role player who loves tales of adventure! I enjoy tabletop games, play-by-post, and even LARP!

Wild (and sometimes weird) west and medieval fantasy games with an 'old-school' D&D feel are my favorite.

In real life, I'm a software engineer and wanna-be farmer. I have a little garden and some chickens that like to destroy my flower beds. But I like 'em anyway and they all have names. ;) Sometimes they lay me some breakfast.

Other hobbies include dog agility and archery.

"The ancients... they sailed westward too, ya know. Masters of the high seas, they was. Don't know what happened to 'em, but seeing as how they ain't here no more, it couldn't 'ave ended well for 'em, now could it? Only fools go looking for that kinda trouble." -local fisherman.

The "Elfleda", a lovely vessel recently commissioned by Lord Rolf to sail westward on an exploratory mission, had been stocked with almost two month's worth of supplies. It's small crew, along with the band of adventurers, had set sail just 3 days ago and were mostly in high spirits. The wind favored them and the first leg of this journey was expected to be easy. They were headed to Avery's Isle, so named for Queen Avery almost 20 years ago. Already it was visible in the distance and they should be there within a few hours time.

The large island had a small permanent population, made up mostly of poor folk who had jumped at the chance to have a plot of land to themselves. And while it was under Lord Rolf's dominion, Constable Leofwine Botwright was the local authority. A perfect place to replenish the supplies used over the last few days plus deliver Lord Rolf's quarterly missive to the Constable.

After that, the "real" adventure would begin as the Elfleda would be continuing westward, hoping to discover more islands filled with either fertile soil or lost riches just waiting to be claimed.

Im interested, Ill start creating a character asap. But is it possible for me to be half human half vampire (I know what you said, but I am curious). I dont usually do anything like a vampire, its more purely because I like them and also my reference picture is a half human half vampire

Sorry, but no vampires or half vampires as PCs please. (Though if you want "your" island mini-adventure to involve vampires, that is fine!)
This DnD-esque RP will focus around a ship that is sailing westward into the unknown. Their mission is to explore and chart unknown islands. Maybe you've signed up for adventure! Maybe for gold. Many say that you're crazy and are going to sail right off the edge of the world!

Each island will be a mini-adventure. I'll act as GM for the first island, but would love if other participants would be willing to take the reins as GM for subsequent islands! (If you really don't want to, no worries, it is not a requirement to play!) I think that way the adventures will stay fresh!

Character Creation: If you want to create a character sheet, please feel free to do so and to include whatever details you'd like to about your character. Or, if you're like me, and prefer to introduce your character during the RP, that is fine as well.

Acceptable races are the ones found in DnD! (Humans, elves, dwarves, gnomes, halfling, half-orc) Magic is acceptable as long as it's kept relatively low-level.

(First IC post might not be until tomorrow. In the meantime, feel free to suggest some names for our ship!)
That's definitely enough interest to get started! I'll try to get the RP thread up tonight when I get home. :)
What do you have in mind, @Karolus? If it's not too off the wall it should be okay.

"Let's rest for a minute?" Rook half asked, half demanded as she set down her bow and quiver, then plopped herself down on the trunk of a fallen tree, wiped a small bead of sweat from her forehead, and took a drink of the tepid water in her waterskin.

Though it was only spring, it was a warm day, too warm for the multiple layers she was wearing. But she was reluctant to discard the extra garments, knowing she would miss them once the sun went down. "We've got to be getting really close," she commented after a few moments. She pulled out a folded piece of parchment to study it, though by now, they'd looked at the map so much she could have probably recreated it from memory.

"Maybe the ruins are just over that hill?" she said hopefully, then laughed at herself slightly and gave a half chuckle toward her companion. "Though I guess I said that about the last hill too."
