@Crab... see if you can find out what she's interested in. Then ask her about it. No flirting need be involved to just break the ice. :)

Bio

Long time casual role player who loves tales of adventure! I enjoy tabletop games, play-by-post, and even LARP!

Wild (and sometimes weird) west and medieval fantasy games with an 'old-school' D&D feel are my favorite.

In real life, I'm a software engineer and wanna-be farmer. I have a little garden and some chickens that like to destroy my flower beds. But I like 'em anyway and they all have names. ;) Sometimes they lay me some breakfast.

Other hobbies include dog agility and archery.

That's okay. May actually be good timing as someone doing work on my house accidentally cut my phone line. So just got internet back here too. :)
Edwina opened her eyes and slowly pushed herself into a sitting position, softly touching the place where the arrow had been, but a blood stain and a hole in her shirt seemed to be all that remained. She still felt a bit weak, but was recovering quickly and sent a smile of thanks toward Alya. "It seems I am in your debt," she said as she started to her feet. It seemed she had chosen a good travelling companion.

"And in yours," she added, looking toward Hugh. Straw, who was standing nearby, put out a hand to help steady the woman until it seemed she was okay on her own two feet. "Sir, have you seen our horses?" she asked him.

"Nope," he replied, eyes giving a quick scan of Edwina, then of Alya and seemed pleased by what he saw. "They didn't come our way," he said, gesturing back toward the direction they'd come from. "But you're more than welcome to travel with us until you find your steeds," he offered, looking between the two woman.
Thanks for the heads up. :) I was struggling with this one a bit too, finding it difficult to play a dumb character.
Hearing Roan stir, Glenn rolled over and slowly sat up, then stretched his arms up over his head with a rather loud yawn, probably disturbing any wildlife nearby that Roan might have been considering for breakfast. Accustomed to rising early, the large youth lumbered to his feet as he picked up the damp traveling cloak that he'd been using as a blanket and gave it a good shake to get the debris off.

Even though the sun was barely peeking up over the horizon, Glenn couldn't help but feel excited for the day ahead and for the adventures they were bound to have. He pulled the map out of his shirt pocket, just to look at it again and make sure that nothing had happened to it overnight. Already, it was looking considerably more crumpled than it had when Glenn discovered it within the old book.

About the same time, and not more than a mile away, Sibley opened her eyes, then closed them again, pulling her blanket tighter about herself as she tried to ignore the rising sun. But the horse was beginning to nicker softly at her, expecting breakfast. "Alright, alright," she said out loud, wrapping the blanket around her shoulders as she got up and dug into the saddle bags to get a few handfuls of oats for him. "Best make that last, there's not much left," she told the animal.
Sorry for the triple IC post. The site is not behaving for me tonight...
"Run!" Alya had yelled suddenly and Edwina turned to see her travelling companion slip from her saddle. She hesitated, not sure if she was willing to leave the elf to whatever fate awaited her. It was only a few moments, but it was long enough for one of the bandits to grab her steed's bridle. She had gone for the short sword that hung from her hip, but the brigands had two much of a jump on her and she barely had it out of the sheath before she was being pulled to the ground.

--

"He speaks the truth," Straw chimed in, but taking a small step backwards and away from the elf with her bow trained on Hugh. "If it wasn't for us happening upon you, the brigands over there might have been slitting both your throats right this second," he said, intentionally leaving out the part about how the woman still on the ground might have suffered no worse than a stolen purse had it not been for their intervention. As it was, her eyes were closed after the magical healing, but her color looked much healthier and her breathing was deep and steady.

No problem. I'll be glad to have the RP rolling again. :)
