Up until today I've never had any trouble with my EUIV Japan games. Today I got stomped five times in a row before even uniting the country.

I'm a weeaboo communist. Are you surprised?

EDIT: You probably are now, but I'm not going to tell you why you wouldn't have been like two years ago. You get to agonize over that yourself.

Name of nation: Draconian New Caste Dictatorate of the SanctumSpecies: DraconianDescription of government: Caste System, DictatorialDescription of military: Kinetic-based weaponry on ships that focus more on armor than on shields. Mass Drivers, Railguns, Magnetic Launchers and other kinetic weapons are common, though there are a few classes that focus primarily on energy weapons and shields.History: After the Sanctum was attacked and destroyed, the DNCDS, or most casually referred to the "Draconian Caste," formed when several other Draconian factions began rising out of the shattering of their central command. Immediately, they had allied themselves with two other factions that made up Galactic Sectors 3 and 5, with the Draconian Caste being the 6th GC, and began fighting to liberate the burned, scarred planets of the Sanctum. By the time the Draconians in the Milky Way sector [Galactic Sector 8] were annihilated, they had retaken the Sanctum, and Sector 4 [which had fallen into Civil War].Shortly afterwards, Sector 3 attempted to take Sector 5, and Sector 5 and 6 [Draconian Caste] retaliated, and retook Sector 3. Some time afterwards, with a mix of political and military manuevering, the Draconian Caste absorbed Sector 5, and later the remains of Sector 4. When they tried moving into Sector 7 and Sector 2, they found new occupants had taken over: The Seeders. Following the discovery was a war that quickly wiped out Sectors 7, 2, 5, and 1. The military that remained was decomissioned, scrapped, and rebuilt into ships that used armor similar to that on the Seeders, though not as heavy, but certainly stronger than earlier models. Due to the ineffectiveness of energy weapons against the Seeders [since any kind of weapon they used short of beams of antimatter], the Draconians set their sights on kinetic weaponry. While energy weapons have a longer firing range, higher accuracy and an easier source of ammunition, kinetic weapons of the same level could be used with a higher rate of fire, a larger effect area, increasing amounts of damage, and has so many variables that it can be modified for any situation the Draconian needed.Other (Culture and the like):The Draconian Caste, being Draconians, have a very, very powerful religious belief in the deity called 'The Goddess,' which represents both war and well-being, and is the Draconians' motherly influence. As of late, she has been called 'The High Mother,' or simply just 'Mother,' for lack of any real fatherly or motherly influence in the lives of almost all Draconians.

Please clarify how many ships you have. Also, just to clarify for you, no extra galactic travel for now.

Wait, so are you joining or notBecause the God stuff is more used fir storytelling, much else and Keyguy pulls out his ban hammer

Hey! I've never actually banned anyone before.

Except for that one "I have a fleet of Galaxy-sized ships" guy. That was just wrong, even at the Futurama-levels of power people had back then.

Also, this current insanity is going to die down pretty quickly, if you don't want to get involved then you can always wait until it passes.
Because dammit, deities are fun to write. Especially when vaguely based off of old characters a single person here maybe possibly remembers.
Azwraith (LCF)
"We can understand. However, we will not fire on your forces until this system no longer contains the invaders. It would do your people good to do the same. Good luck, may our battles together be productive."

Operation Seraph
The Imperial internal sensors picked up the boarding action, and multiple security teams were dispatched. However, they were equipped just like the cannon fodder infantry on the ground. It seemed as though it would be an easy victory for the Triarians, as only frail human conscripts had appeared. Then came members of a species that had once been feared in the Milky Way, a species that had almost conquered the galaxy. They were built strongly, with sharp claws and teeth, with light blue scales acting as a beacon of fear. Draconians.

But these were not normal Draconians, these were genetically modified to be as powerful as possible. Strangely, they had no cybernetics, thus being easily killed off by any synth. Apparently, however, the human officers had far too much faith in the Draconian's abilities.

"Surrender immediately!" Yelled a Boskop who had been taken along "You will become tools of the Empire either way, but in life you will be a worse tool. Rough around the edges, rebellious. You will do more good for your people in life than in death. Surrender!"

Sylve
A message was sent to the Sazkarjhit forces, as the Delphan ship launched boarding pods.

"You want them alive? Our specialty."

The boarding pods slammed into the enemy station, and Delphans clad in armored spacesuits thrusted out of them using RCS packs. They began to fire on the enemy troops using standard LCF assault rifles, trying to maintain their cover of inferiority. But the moment they got into the station, they began to use their psychic powers as their primary weapon. Enemy guards were slammed against walls, confused into firing on everyone in the room, knocked unconscious by a single touch, the Delphans even used their restricted powers to clear entire rooms of enemy troops at once. They continued to charge forwards, beginning to only knock the enemies unconscious so as to make sure they got as many prisoners as possible.

Equiis, Canterlot
Twilight was asleep in the bedroom, in a peaceful sleep. It was a good night, not too hot, not too cold, just the right temperature. The peace of the night could make someone forget the war, at least until morning. For in the morning, the reports came in, telling everyone who had died in the war. Nobody wanted to see it, but it had to come. However, this fleeting moment of peace for Twilight was about to be rudely interrupted by a being from another dimension.

One would expect Faust, what with Twilight being an Equestrian, but it wasn't her. It was someone else, a humanoid being. They glowed blue, and had the figure of a human woman. Through the glow, one could make out pale white skin, as if she had never seen the light of day. She was clothed in flowing black robes, with stars, galaxies, planets, and nebulae dotted all over them, Her hair went down to her waist, changing color from white to black as it went down. Despite the white of her hair, she appeared to still be young. Her left arm seemed metallic, as if it was an artificial limb. Then there was her face, the mouth was curved in a perpetual soft smile, and the eyes conveyed a sense of wonder at all round her.

The room was lit with her blue glow, and the being moved her hand in an upward motion, waking Twilight through magic.

"Hello, Child of Faust." She began "You do not know me, and I do not know you. I only know Faust, whom I have fought alongside. You are lucky to have such a dedicated Goddess. This is the first time I have revealed myself in the physical world, though I have manipulated a certain planet many times before. I tend to stick to the natives of that word with my actions and view, it is fun to discover. Those natives have given me many names over the years, I have picked one for direct interaction: Urania. I have come to give you a suggestion. If you do not wish to listen, that would be quite enjoyable for me, but I do not desire joy right now. I desire to give you this suggestion, will you hear me out?"
Azwraith (LCF)
The three huge objects passed right by the Ceramus planet, and began to engage the invading forces. Along with those objects, the LCF fleet warped in as well and opened fire on the invading forces. Due to the proximity of the enemy ships to one another, the antiproton streamers were extremely effective. Having a focus on physical armor, the alien vessels were easily disintegrated by massive, orange clouds of antiprotons. Despite the fact that the LCF ships were outnumbered beyond imagination, they refused to move from bombardment locations. The replica of the Immortal Caliber sent a message to the planet below.

"This is Conduit Alpha 012, Delphan Mental Collective, Lakfakalle Cooperative Federation. Cease your fire on our ships and instead focus fire on our mutual enemy. Your arcane capabilities are extraordinary, your assistance would be welcomed."

Azwraith (Imperials)
With the LCF attacking, the fleet diverted a battlegroup of ten carriers, twenty cruisers, and thirty destroyers to take out the LCF forces. However, the main fleet is incapable of performing evasive maneuvers due to overcrowding, and thus it has no option but to throw away the smaller ships to protect the larger ones. Interestingly, the crews seeem to have no objection to this, and gladly throw away their lives to protect the rest of the fleet.

Finally, the portal closes and leaves the scout fleet without reinforcements. However, due to LCF bombardment of the portal multiple troop transports have been lost. The planetary invasion is beginning to be slowed without reinforcements, the entrenched Ceramus are putting up an extremely good fight. However, it is unlikely the battle will be anything further than a stalemate, as the Ceramus simply don't have the force to push back. A message has been sent from the command ship to the Triarians, and it was in a voice with a clear Triarian accent.

"We will dominate all" It said, in a well-rehearsed line as if the owner of the voice was an actor in a film "You will soon bow to our leader, and he will conquer the multiverse! Haigranizol Terra! Haigranziol Humanidad!"

Psychic Message to the Triarian Collective
"The invading fleets are hostile, eliminate them. They can only enter this universe through certain points where the walls between universes have been thinned by inter-universal jumps or the warping of space-time. The fleet at Azwraith is a forward scout group, sent to find a good staging location for the invasion of the Milky Way and establish control. The most logical choice would be the Sol system, the integrity of space-time in that system is extremely low and it has no interstellar-stage native species to defend it. It does, however, have a native species present on the third planet, known as Mars. They control extensive mining operations in both the system's asteroid belts, and have colonies on multiple other celestial bodies within the system. The native species is friendly by nature according to our reports, so force will not be needed. We are hereby requesting that the Triarian Collective establish a foothold in the Sol system to defend against further invasion. You will be greatly rewarded for the sucessful completion of this task."

Sylve Operations
"The Ceramus Collective is currently under attack from extra-universal invaders. The LCF can only commit a single vessel to the operation. The Delphans have revealed a secret interstellar fleet they have been building all this time, apparently siphoning resources right from the main interstellar military project. The vessel will be from this fleet, do not worry, the crew is Delphan. It will be more than enough support."
Something will happen! Today, even!

That said, I'm kind of surprised that nobody has posted. Every time I have not posted for some lengthy amount of time, this roleplay dies. It happened with Star Empire, the Star Empires Reboot, Void of the Stars, and now this. This phenomenon is reaching T-shirt joke worthy levels.
Azwraith
"Admiral Ōkami, 978th Forward Invasion Force. All non-human life must be restricted within their system, all interstellar empires must be broken up. Those who wish to continue interstellar travel must do so on Imperial vessels as workers or servants. Those who resist will be wiped from existence as per the Emperor's orders. Surrender immediately or you will meet that fate."

The attacks, meanwhile, continued. None of their actions conveyed the slightest sense of caution at the enemy defenses, bombers didn't even engage in evasive maneuvers. Behind the front lines, huge carriers released more and more torrents of attack craft and soldiers, relying on sheer numbers to defeat the enemy. None of the commanding officers seemed to even care about their losses.

Retsukuu
Before the president could speak, the three craft had already taken off. Such a quick boarding could only be possible through teleportation, something the Delphan had demonstrated seconds ago. It became obvious to those who had not had their memories altered: the Delphans had taken them over. Their course was set for Ceramus space, but not to fight the Ceramus. They knew there was a far greater foe in that area, and that they would need far more than those three ships to fight them. Nevertheless, they continued onward towards the Ceramus.
"We embarked on our journey to the stars with a question first framed in the childhood of our species and in each generation asked anew with undiminished wonder: What are the stars? Exploration is in our nature. We began as wanderers, and we are wanderers still. We have lingered long enough on the shores of the cosmic ocean. We are ready at last to set sail for the stars."
-Carl Sagan, Cosmos

Humanity, nobody expected much from them. Most humans had their lives all planned out, and to them there would be nothing in the future but their normal lives. The sensible ones were completely fine with this, for they believed the could only dream of a more exiting life. Those sensible people withered away into the history books, being known only to those who decided to spend a few days backtracking through their family tree decades in the future. They are not the writers, they are those who look at the story and say "Ridiculous! That is impossible!". Rightfully so, as well. They were completely right, the story the writers wanted to make was impossible.

The writers would know this if they were sensible, but they were not. They ignored sense and followed their dreams, never giving a thought to the sensible people who said it couldn't be done. Pushing on ahead, those writers kept their eye on their goal and never allowed to wander. Through this reckless yet calculated journey, the writers finally succeeded. They had done the impossible, something that should not have been possible for such a young and damaged species. While the sensible people watched in awe, the writers trod upon the brilliant road to the stars. While the sensible people killed and fought, the writers marched forwards. The writers had to fight, of course, they were drawn into the conflicts of the sensible. But they never stopped marching, no, they refused to allow the sensible people to be right, to accept that reality truly was nothing more than menial labor and repetition.

As the ages passed, the writers kept on marching onward. Though none had yet been able to touch a star, they kept marching with no thought to the thousands that had already failed. They made great progress in their collective quest, continuing to invent new devices to make life just a little bit easier. As life got easier, the writers had more time to think and invent yet more devices to make life even more easy. It was a self-reinforcing loop, but still the sensible people refused to give a thought to the insane dreams of the writers. They used the devices to have more time to lay around doing nothing, but the writers did not care. While all this was happening, nobody gave a though to Earth and its inhabitants, still being stuck in a repeating loop of nuclear annihilation the moment they discovered the technology. Earth rocketed towards that point, having no idea what would happen.

Then, something happened. If Gods and Goddesses exist, then their interest was surely piqued. Something anomalous had occurred on that insignificant Earth, though they now had harnessed the power of the atom, their voices continued to speak. Their hearts kept beating, their DNA remained normal, their atmosphere was not full of ash. They had survived the creation of the nuclear bomb, something that had never before happened in the galaxy. Suddenly, Earth was no so insignificant anymore. The writers were closer than ever to achieving their goals.

The stars in the night sky burn brighter than ever, beckoning us writers to them. To some the stars say "We will give you power", to others "We will give you respect". Yet more hear "We will give you knowledge", and to a select few, they say something similar yet completely different.
To those few, they say "We will give you a home".

Yes, this does take place during the Space Race, and begins in 1950. What a surprise.

My plan for this is to have it be stat-based, yet also somewhat character-driven in a way. There will be turns, but you can make an indefinite number of posts per turn, allowing you to develop your plot without waiting for me to update. A new turn will begin after everyone has posted at least once. The beginning of a new turn will be marked with a standard stat update, along with a newspaper recording the events of the turn. Yes, that newspaper will actually look like a newspaper. Images will be put into it as well, all of them authentic ones taken by the various space agencies of our world.

The RP will go on for as long as it has members, and technology will eventually advance beyond even our own levels. All spaceflight will be confined by the laws of physics, so no FTL in the late game, but antimatter drives are okay. Technology may also progress faster than our own, this does not mean you can have starships and colonies in 2000. The stat system will make sure nobody does anything ridiculous, and please remember that we would begin with 50's tech.

The RP will focus on the space agencies almost exclusively, and you don't even have to play as a nation. Of course, you would have the option.

I would link to the old threads, but they were full of one-liners. While not necessarily a bad thing, it is undesirable here in the NRP section.
