"Understood. We are standing by. It has been a pleasure to assist our allies."

Titan, Sol System
"That could not have been the great evil."

Urania was floating alone, within a pool of liquid methane. It was one of her favorite places to think, although with Chaos moving throughout Sol, the seas of Titan were becoming less and less peaceful. She felt pity for the alien animals that swam through the orange liquid, they had no idea what was coming, what would happen to them. Sometimes a no-interference policy hurt, and this was definitely one of those times. However, not once did she doubt her decision, every time she interfered something went wrong. She refused to allow harm to come to others because of her stupidity.

"What if that twisted version of Fergus was right?" She said to herself "What if the great evil is life? No, nothing matches the prophecy. Six shall turn them back, they will be not of this circle. Not a sphere, a circle. The other galaxies are gone forever, does that mean the prophecy has been broken? Is there no hope to defeat the great evil? Does it even exist?"

She chuckled uneasily, then continued.

"Here I am, a goddess, questioning a prophecy because it doesn't make sense. Sense was long ago abandoned."

One of the creatures swam up to her, brushing her starry dress with its tail. It swam right up to hr face, seeming to study her with piercing membrane-covered eyes. It made a series of clicks and whistles, tilting itself on its side as if it were asking her a question. She smiles softly, reaching out to touch the creature. It didn't move away, it simply floated there while she slowly and gently stroked it, taking care not to disturb it in any way.

"What do you think, do you know what the great evil is?" She said, trying to comfort herself. The creature wriggled up to her face, swimming in circles around her head. Finally, its right fin touched her forehead. She felt a rush of thoughts enter her, thoughts of a self-aware creature. Being a goddess, her mind naturally attuned itself to the mind of the creature.

"What are the lights?" It asked telepathically, the fear apparent even in the mere thought "Why have they devoured the Red Jewel?"

she quickly realized it was talking about Mars. Using the already existing link, she spoke to it.

"They are invaders. The Red Jewel was in their way, so they devoured it."

"You are saddened far more than any other, why? The question made her realize that they didn;t even consider her a different species. Perhaps they only knew each other through telepathy, recognizing her as on of their own due to the signature of her mind, which had changed to match that of the creature.

"Because it was the last home of my children. It's all my fault, too.

"Your children? Do you mean the Blue Streaks"

"The Blue Streaks... no, those were nothing more than devices created by my children to collect resources from the giant orb in the sky. Everyone else calls the Blue Streaks plasma engines."

"Everyone else?"

"The other species, the ones that travel between the stars.

The creature seemed to understand, showing that they had ideas about space travel and the orbits of the planets. It occurred to her that they must live a painful existence, knowing how to reach the stars but not having the hands to do so. They were in the same situation as the humans were in the early 21st century.

"Your children, are you... are you a goddess?" It asked, shocking Urania. She hadn't expected them to have a religion so close to reality. She was, however, deeply saddened by the fact that the creature asked excitedly, she hoped it would not ask for a miracle.

"I am, my children were adopted though, I did not make them. They came into being as a result of random occurrences."

"What will you do about the lights?"

"All that I do brings more death, it is my curse. I can do nothing. Please do not tell anyone of the coming evil, they... I... it..." Her voice trailed off, breaking up. she simply could not bring herself to even request that the information be withheld. Her eyes began to swell with tears. The creature could understand, the link between their minds made it possible.

"We believe that all deities have a purpose to be fulfilled, you can be no exception. I'm sure you will find your purpose. Perhaps you dwell too much on your mistakes. I must leave now, perhaps we will speak again." It turned and swam away, leaving Urania curled up in a ball, floating in the orange liquid methane.

"Gee, imagine what they could do with arms." She said to herself. "I hope Chaos doesn't notice them."

Name of nation:The United Human Confederacy. The name is often said to be biased as it does not include the other races under the command, however the UHC officially states that the name is only there because the confederacy is human led.Species:Humans, Turians, Salarians, the ZergHumans:Do I really need to explain? Beyond this they have some decent Psionics, however there not as good as the Triarians.Turians:The Turians are a very military honed race, and make excellent warriors in battle. They make up a majority of the UHC ground forces, but very few choose to server as officers aboard ships or in the navy.Salarians: The Salarians are a very scientific focused race, however while they are smart and do make up the majority of scientists in they do not often live beyond 40 without use of cybernetics or Genetic modificationThe Zerg: The Zerg are a race of various creatures, they lack intelligence however. Difference between various zerg types include types specalized for various different roles. The UHC constantly seeks out new DNA to expand and grow the various zerg types. Current belief is that they were once a hivemind, as a small specialized organ in all zerg allowed for rapid psionic communication across even light years. The UHC uses Psionics to control the Zerg, and a special version of the Zerg infestation is used to prevent zerg from attacking regular civilians and non-psionics.Description of government:Meritocracy, however non-humans are forbidden from serving in the higher levels of government due to the beliefs and policies of the Humans. The Zerg do not serve in the government do to there nature and the secrecy the UHC has put behind them.Description of military:The Military of the UHC is a highly trained and highly organized force. The military mainly uses selections of anti-proton streamers and high-powered rail-guns to supplement there infantry's weapons. However they do have a few Dark-Energy weapons, and Dark Energy weapons include some torpedoes as well as the powerful Yamato Cannon. The Yamato cannon is even more destructive then the Collectve's dark energy weapons, however the extremely long charge time and the fact that it disables all other weapons for 10 minutes makes it a last resort. Yamato cannon installations are used as orbital weapons however. Grounds forces are mostly Zerg, supplemented by elite psionic units, augmented or synthed Turians, psionics controlling the zerg, and more specialized augmented and synthed zerg. Another note of interest is a psionic device used by the UHC, similiar to the Collective's. However it does not control people, rather the zerg, linking up to there specialized organ.*Unit Cataloge TBDHistory:The UHC began as a movement springing off Robert's movement. The movement did not believe humans to be superior, but believed that they were the more determined, creative, and igneous. They believed that with these qualities the humans could be the only ones to lead the universe to a united one. From this also stems the current policy of disallowing aliens in higher levels of government, as they lack these qualities. Lack of support from the centeral AIF government lead to a exodus by the the supporters of the movement. They fled to the outer reaches of the MWG and colonized a world there. They began building up there industry and economy and declared the UHC.It was also about this time they discovered what was left of the rumored Zerg Hivemind and using Psionics that had been developed trhough genetic modification and careful planning they managed to capture them and put under there control. The modified infestation was created as the UHC took great interest in the fields of Dark Energy, Cybernetics, and genetic modification. They also began documenting the colonies of former pact nations near them. They began rapidly expanding there military and preparing for the time where they could strikes the colonies of the former pact nations. With the advent of the Universal War the UHC took there chance and struck at the colonies of the former pact nations, taking colones from the Salarians and Turians. Threat of release of zerg was used to capture there loyal, as well as psionic indoctrination. The Salarians were the first ones who's loyalty gained, and were used as scientists. To prevent the reapers from attacking them they hid on there worlds, shielding them, and only using communications when absolutely necessary. During this period on Korhal, the capital of the UHC, new technologies were developed. After there emergence at the end of the universal war, they managed to capture a few intact reaper capital ships, however no headway has been made into adapting them or there technology. The UHC declared a policy of atheism and forbades religion. Rapid technological development and progress ensured and the UHC began rapidly developing the zerg and genetic and cybernetics. Dark Energy tech also made forward leaps. The UHC is seeking to expand as well as meetup with other nations.

The LCF vessel sent a message to the planet below.

"We respect your right to refuse religious freedom. However, we do respectfully request that those who reject your religion be allowed to leave your nation should they choose to do so. Those who do not and engage in violent protests would still be considered rebels and acceptable targets for military forces. We will need to remain in this system for some time, our warp drives have run dry."

G-X-957 ("Phantom")
The Yamadai exited warp, a blue pulse of radiation flying free now that the warp bubble had dissipated. It began to scan the system, moving forward with the velocity left over from the jump. A blip appeared on the screen of the sensors officer. Acting quickly, he re-calibrated the sensors, hoping it was just a glitch. No such luck, more blips appeared, enough for a whole fleet of warships.

"Twenty warships off the port bow! Distance is five astronomical units, orbital eccentricity of 2.54 relative to the star, 0.1 relative to the habitable planet!" Cried the officer, looking back at Keloush

"Jump us into orbit!" Responded Keloush "Battlestations! Those are almost certainly Ceramus warships!"

The giant battleship jumped into orbit of the planet, right in front of the alien fleet. Its Antiproton Beam Lance was glowing with particle buildup, as were the other weapons. Fighters fell out of their hangars, leaving behind blue plasma trails as they flew alongside the ship. One of the main cannons on the ship fired a simple projectile shot through the middle of the fleet as a warning. It detonated after clearing the ships, and the Yamadai sent a message to what appeared to be the alien flagship.

"If you are Ceramus, and can understand us, then know this: We will see you destroyed. You took our worlds with a supernova's fire, you destroyed our only symbol of hope to show off your power, we will have our revenge! If you are not, then respond to this message stating your allegiance and the world from which you hail if your culture allows it."
Serenity
Hearing the call, the Lakfakalle Cooperative Federation fleet responded to it with all the fuel they had left, voluntarily stranding themselves in the system. The weapons ports on the warships flared up, preparing to tear apart any vessel that challenged them. Fighters swarmed in a holding pattern around their carriers, leaving behind blue trails of argon plasma behind them. The Starfire sent a broadcast to the entire system, making sure everyone would pick it up.

"This is the Lakfakalle Cooperative Federation Warship Starfire! All hostilities will cease immediately and peace talks will be held onboard this vessel! Failure to comply will result in the destruction or capture of all involved warships, death or capture of all involved ground troops, and the occupation of this world. You have one hour to comply."

Nikolien System
"Enemy shields are down, I repeat, enemy shields are down!"

"Go in for the kill, Gold One!"

The fighter swooped down from above the strange enemy, and fired its antiproton pulse cannons. The orange spheres of antimatter slammed into the enemy vessel's hull, tearing the ship in half. The atmosphere within was converted into energy by the antiprotons that got through the hull, the shockwave causing the ship to explode. The fighters regrouped, and began their assault on the one remaining cruiser. Antiproton spheres struck the enemy shields, causing water-blue ripples across the surface. The Yamadai's antiproton weapons ports were now glowing orange with particle buildup. The enemy had made a crucial mistake; they regretted to destroy the actual generators, and the single clump of wires they took out was easily replaced.

The Antiproton Beam Lance fired, disintegrating the entire enemy ship with a single, short blast. It didn't stop, though, and kept on going until it hit a large planetoid left over from the destruction of Nikolien. The beam went straight through it as well, disintegrating it entirely. A few kilometers further, it dissipated and the antiprotons spread out across the debris field, eating away at some smaller asteroids. Finally, it was all gone.

"Nanobots have completed construction of the S'Masi Base. Gas collection platforms are completed, refineries completed, negative energy production plants completed." Said one of the human crewmen on the bridge, his eyes fixed on a screen.

"Oh sure, the nanobots finish the thing with weapons after we're attacked by pirates. Speaking of the pirates, I've seen a similar design before. I just... I just can't remember when. Oh well, probably just me wanting to know what was going on. Leave behind the transport drones, have them carry the gas and fuel back to Lakfakalle. The military transports will bring in colonists, we just have to concern ourselves with pressing on. Our next target is the G-X-957 system."

"Captain, isn't that in former Ceramus territory?"

"Yes, but there's a habitable planet in the system. It has no intelligent life, so the Ceramus neglected to terraform it. It happens to be 90% water, more than enough room for the Dolphins. At only two light years from here, it's perfect for our second planetside colony, and we won't be losing this one! Initiate jump, 100c!"

Part of me thinks taking over a land with a disgruntled and rebellious population might not be worth the resources.

Give them bread and circuses, and everything they're demanding. Suddenly, you have a loyal population.

Or maybe they revolt against you the moment you give them what they want. That's why you just vassalize them.
Also, you get less Infamy points
I suddenly feel extremely threatened by those dice of yours. Let's hope that those two disasters got all the bad rolls out.

No reward for the guy who figures out who's getting attacked first!

This is true. I do like a good impossible to win war that is ultimately won.
I've got this bad feeling that I'm going to come out second in economy and become a tiny little wannabe superpower.
