Up until today I've never had any trouble with my EUIV Japan games. Today I got stomped five times in a row before even uniting the country.

I'm a weeaboo communist. Are you surprised?

EDIT: You probably are now, but I'm not going to tell you why you wouldn't have been like two years ago. You get to agonize over that yourself.

Alright um another question. Would we be the per established nations? Or we come up with our own?

Sounds awesome. Just a minor question, would we use pre established Countries. Or could we use original but realistic ones (Like Byzantium Surviving, Islam not forming, Etc)

To both of these, you could do either.

A world where industry spread from China and WITH NO MENTION of effects on India, Persia, East Africa, Turkey, etc? For shame. :P Also, what happened to all the indigenous Colombians? Did they just disappear? Was genocide the active policy of all the colonizers right from the start? Did none of the indigenous peoples at all manage to adapt to the invasion, find roles as traders and agents in borderlands, use shifting alliances with imperial powers, adopt elements of industrial technology, etc?I would be interested in playing, but I would very much like options besides Western Europeans or Chinese.

As for why I didn't put in much about certain regions while writing this draft of the history, it's because I don't know nearly enough about them to do this roleplay justice. You can be sure that I will go on a wikipedia binge for the IC if I put it up.

As for what happened to the Natives, many were conquered or wiped out, but some groups realized what the colonists were after and started to sell it to them. It can be assumed that Native corporations exist, and control a large portion of the mining operations.
Anything but binary is literally worthless unless it's a quantum computer, so yeah, everyone uses binary. Everyone can be hacked, the only problem would be the language barrier, and everyone has inexplicable translation devices because THIS IS A SCI-FI FANTASY ROLEPLAY. EVERYONE CAN TRANSLATE EVERYTHING IN REAL TIME WITHOUT EVEN A SLIGHT INCONVENIENCE. DUCK'S BEEN HACKED. END OF STORY.

I don't remember him ever actually mentioning that to me or anyone, the thing about 9 base digits. Nor did it come up in the reboot argument.

IT VERY MUCH HAPPENED, AND I REMEMBER IT DAMN WELL. EVERYONE KNEW.

No, I came to check on the health of everyone as they tolerate you Duck. I am honestly astounded that they have survived. Who I am speaking of is ASTA, darkwolf, and that other guy that made the primitive nation based off of china. It's cute you think my posts are all about you, but in truth I couldn't give a bald rats ass about you or even your existence at this point. I'm not one to lie, so why should I sugarcoat it for you? You can handle it, right? I came in here to see of everyone was having fun and made a giggle. You are the one that is trying to restart a flame, can you not handle the truth?

Half of that post was an attack on Duck, just saying. If you didn't care then you wouldn't have said anything about him in that post.

Also, he's been in this roleplay for at very least a year and a half. It's worked out perfectly fine so far.

I just have a few questions.1. what would warfare be like? Rp wise I mean.2.So they have Rail guns and such but no aluminum or anything to for planes? I don't know if that would make it light enough for electric motors or not.3. this is more of a cosmetic questions, How would wars be fought? Like does everyone drop down into trenches and hides, more like world war two with large armies with divisions and such. Or even modern day with the whole they send out what is needed from bases or what not.

There is aluminium, and it's most certainly light enough, but we can assume that planes haven't been invented yet simply as a fluke. Nobody really bothered, they'll almost certainly come into existence during the RP though, I imagine everyone would be going crazy over them due to the advantages they would provide. Warfare RP wise would be played out disconnected from stats. Battles could be won either through overwhelming numbers, overpowering weaponry, or superior tactics. Warfare from an in-universe standpoint would be WWII-style, mainly because tanks exist. WWI trench tactics are completely useless when you have tanks, and modern military tactics simply wouldn't have been thought of.

After 50 years of service as an engineer in the R&D labs, Ariamas Talai (M.D.) decided to go into the private sector with her scientific expertise. Surprisingly her cold and stern attitude allowed her to flourish in the competitive corporate world. After making some intelligent investments, Aria (her nickname) took developing at weapons system that could easily stem the tide in ground-based warfare. After hearing of her project, the Concordant quickly subsidized her work and provided materials for her research. In between weapons integration jobs for the military, she poured herself into recruiting and designing her almost secret “Project Vanguard.” Although the project is almost complete, she is still hard at work as head of the company. Rayleonark Inc. often deals in technologies that integrate systems with biology, however they have also been know to design weapons, armors, and energy packages along-side their “operating systems.” As of late, Rayleonark has been acquiring companies dedicated to aeronautics, energy projection/ manipulation, and pharmaceuticals. Since the founding of the company, and possibly earlier, Ariamas has been developing the project as a new unit type for the Concordant. A highly mobile specialized operator that can deliver a large payload of munitions, both large and small arms would be most useful to Concordant’s military. Ariamas figured by putting energy manipulators (for movement), adrenaline activators, weapon and biological integration systems, she could produce an operator that could take positions in quick succession, deliver a heavy payload, and continue with as a fast attack unit.Is this satisfactory?

Yes it is, accepted!
Woah. Did I just do thread CPR?
This is an alternate history. And guess what?
IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE NAZIS.
OR ANY OF THE WHATEVER-PUNKS.
I just blew your mind, didn't I?

So this is pretty much an alternate American Revolution, but when I say alternate, I mean alternate. The Industrial Revolution already happened, and occurred in China in the year 900. Using steam power, China's industry suddenly became unimaginably powerful when compared to that of the other nations. With their vastly superior army, China began to conquer other nations. Genghis Khan's attempt to conquer China was met with rifles and machine guns, tearing apart any hopes he had of conquest. China's knowledge spread to Europe through the Middle East due to trade, and Europe went through a period similar to the real life Industrial Revolution.

However, technological advancement didn't stop there. China happened to be rich in a mineral called "Lánméi" (Blue coal), a high-temperature superconductor. Long story short, we end up with 1942's technology in 1492 (Sans airplanes, mainly because electricity was used for propulsion instead of diesel and the like, and materials at the time were far too heavy to be flown on electrical power). The Santa Maria was a WWII-style dreadnought, and ended up at mainland South America after a few weeks while trying to chart a trade route to China. Instead of being named "America" much later, the continents were named "Columbia" and "North Columbia" by Columbus (for obvious reasons). The natives of both Columbias remained at the same level of technological development as they were in real life, as they had never come into contact with the Industrial Revolution. Spain easily conquered all of Columbia and Mexico, while France and the British Empire had both taken the lands they owned in real life (with the exception of large parts of Canada), with the exception of having moved much further west and having much denser populations, as well as having done so centuries before they did IRL. Interestingly, Sweden took over Scandinavia and became a major colonial power, taking the vast majority of Canada.

China, still a relevant superpower, took the entire west coast of North America, and as time moved on, both continents became fully industrialized by the 1600's. Technology continued to progress at an astounding rate, with factories becoming automated around the same time, and nuclear power being discovered. As it happened, Lánméi was a perfect Fission fuel, and began to be used in nuclear reactors as well as being used as a conductor in every electronic device. Electric cars were used all over the world by the common man, and skyscrapers popped up all over the world. The tank was born as well, being electrically driven, every division required a dedicated engineer group to provide power. Gunpowder was phased out, replaced with the railgun and coilgun.

In the early 1700's though, something began to change. The colonies in the Columbias began to feel exploited. Having been loyal citizens of their respective nations for centuries, not one colonial power gave their colonies a say in their government. Instead of calling themselves "Chinese" or "Spanish", the colonists began to call themselves Columbian. Tensions started to grow, and a riot occurred in the Chinese colonial city of Chéngshì Cáifù, where demonstrators sunk a cargo ship filled with Lánméi, using a small nuclear device. As unity between the colonies grew alongside tensions with their homelands, something became very, very clear.

A rebellion was brewing.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So yeah, there's the crazy backstory. A couple things I didn't mention are that planes and rockets still don't exist (There are electrically powered airships though), and the telephone was never invented, but the transistor was. Mobile phones are there, but as I mentioned earlier, voice calls aren't a thing, and instead they send messages in Morse, which is translated automatically into text. One of the other large differences is that the Internet doesn't exist, as globalization is in it's infancy. Each nation controls it's own internal internet, though, and programs exist that allow connection to the networks of other nations (Tor, which is pretty much exactly the same as it is IRL, is one of these). Censorship is widespread on all networks.

As for what the colonies and nations are like, here's something to give you an idea:

China/Chinese Colonies: Skyscrapers built for function and made entirely out of metal are common, as are electronic billboards displaying advertisements for a huge variety of companies. Smaller buildings have a much more traditional appearance. The wealth gap is unprecedented, with most of the poor being in the colonies. Socialism is becoming popular, the symbol being an aquamarine-colored (representing Lánméi) flag with a hammer and gear.

British Empire: Skyscrapers are usually square glass ones, held up by white, metal support beams. Smaller buildings look the same as the ones that existed at the time. The society in general is the same as it was IRL at the time.

British Colonies: Building styles are nearly identical to that of the modern USA, the middle class are dominant and the socialist ideals of the Chinese colonies are slowly seeping into the British ones.

France: WIP

French Colonies: WIP

Sweden: Building designs are modern, with unconventional skyscraper shapes and glass houses being common. A system similar to the Nordic Model is in place, and the nation still has a large number of people that follow the beliefs of Norse Mythology, making it a much more tolerant nation than others.

Swedish Colonies: The Swedish Colonies are the odd ones out in North Columbia, being generally against socialism as well as the Nordic Model, though their buildings are identical to those found in Sweden.

Spain: Think about modern Spain. It's that.

Spanish Colonies: Like Latin America today, but with far superior industry.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So yeah, that's about it. Obviously things are subject to change.

Anyone interested? Anyone want to hang me? Anyone want me to become President of the Universe? Anyone love everything but that one little thing that they absolutely hated? Anyone hate everything but that one little thing they absolutely loved?

Hey guys, sorry about the delay/silence. The big snows have arrived in my area and knocked out power as usually happens at the start of winter each year. Since I live out in the middle of nowhere and a half it will take a few days longer for me to have it back up and running. The utility co says it should be done by Sunday, and the past few years they have kept their word on deadlines - so i'll get back here with a vengeance as soon as that is sorted out! I have a bunch of ideas brewing!

Glad to hear it! You're lucky to have a power company that keeps their promises, my neighborhood is one of the ones that uses the last power, so it always takes forever for our power to come back on. The big ice storm we had last year here in NC kept my power out for what felt like an eternity. Of course, it came back on the day we bought a portable generator because we couldn't afford a hotel. And my fish would have died.
