Up until today I've never had any trouble with my EUIV Japan games. Today I got stomped five times in a row before even uniting the country.

I'm a weeaboo communist. Are you surprised?

EDIT: You probably are now, but I'm not going to tell you why you wouldn't have been like two years ago. You get to agonize over that yourself.

Well. my interversal FTL goes to a universe that's a bit inhospitable. You know, with the whole 2D thing. Plus, I can only send ships to that universe, and nowhere else due to the nature of the particle that allows the connection. Some outposts in other universes would be okay, but no major planetary colonies. Someday they will be allowed, but not now.

They Equestrians thought was that they just didn't want to join and wanted to be left alone. It's more likely they were helping keep peace since all Void Humans have a strong sense of justice, they probably not having be tied down with other Empires be out attacking the Sazkarjhit pirates

Gotta agree with this. However, the Triarians probably didn't know that, I think what Wilson is trying to say is that the Triarians should have been more hostile and then placated when the Equestrians said what you just said.

Anyways, I was going to go and make more backstory for Fergus and Lahnha, and tell you what the shiny things that keep showing up on AIF ships are, but there isn't any time because I found a link to the old Cheezburger "Restore your faith in Humanity Week". So instead I spent the entire afternoon dehydrating myself through tears of happiness. It was worth it.

Also, the shiny things are really mundane and not special at all. They're just a realism thing that I didn't add at first, so I'm only bringing them up now. I just won't tell you until one of my IC characters says it because I'm obsessed with keeping really lame secrets.
Galactic Center
The AIF shield dropped in a blinding flash, revealing the blue-tinted hull of the Abh ships and the curving white armor of the Dolphin craft, only broken by dots of the intense blue of water. The turrets on the ships deactivated, folding close to the hulls (In the case of the Dolphin ships, they disappeared into small holes which were then covered). A message was transmitted from the flagship.
"The Federation will recognize your claim to this territory, information on it is being sent to you now. We advise you to stay away from the very center unless you have advanced radiation shielding or are biologically immune, as this was a huge antimatter manufacturing factory at one point. We wish you good luck, but considering your apparent level of technology, you probably won't need it. Bile éna, good voyage."
Just before the fleet left, a message was sent to the Triarian and Equiis Pact ships.
"This area is of no use to us, but it may be of use to these new people. Let them have it, it is clear they wish to have peaceful relations with us. I don't know what your nations will do, but the galactic center will be marked as "Supreme" territory on Federation star charts."
The ships jumped out, heading to the border of the Federation to enter Fath, at which point they would head to their respective postings.

Retsukuu
The Andal Provektkrei Av had been listening in on the messages sent by the ships, but the crew could only understand the Equestrian messages. Lahnha had only spoken to Fergus through the conveyance of thoughts and emotions, not the sounds of words. The Federation had switched to speaking Federation Interstellar (A simple language with very few grammar and spelling rules), the crew would have only understood if they had arrived at a time when the military still used English as their primary language. However, it was obvious that the magical abilities of the Equestrians had been dampened. Suddenly, a light on the bridge of the starship shorted out, and a loud crackle was heard as the room heated up intensely, only to be dissipated by the cooling systems. All eyes turned to where the light was, and saw Lahnha holding her arm out towards its former location.

"We still hold power." She said, lowering her arm. "We shall assist in this fight. Move us out into the open, launch the fighter squadron and order them to provide point defense! When we're out them, I want everyone in on the effort! Weaken her, if you have any energy left, try to kill her!"
The crew began rushing around the bridge, carrying out her orders. The ship moved out into the open, and five small craft launched out of its hangar bay. They were obviously primitive, armed only with an archaic gunpowder weapon, which would probably jam after two shots. They apparently knew this, and the fighters kept close to the main ship to provide only completely necessary point defense. Then, the magical energy of the entire crew was focused on Retsukuu. Any magic-sensitive creature in the system would be able to feel their power as they unleashed it against Retsukuu.

Elsewhere, on the bridge of the McClain, Fergus stared at the main viewscreen, which was showing an image of the newcomer vessel. Despite having lost his magical powers for the time being, he could somehow sense a single person on it. He whispered something, too quite to make out, it was the name of the one who captained this alien ship. What he saw on the viewscreen wiped away any doubts he had, the Federation style warp ring, the plasma engines, even the fighters used a chassis similar to the standard human one. He had the answers to the question of who crewed this new ship, but it was then replaced by another question: How could he have known without his magical senses?

Whatever the case, he was absolutely convinced that he was right. Everybody on the bridge turned to him, their hands already on the controls that they expected him to order them to press. They were just waiting for the world.
"Take us in, right above the newcomer vessel! Extend our shields around them and transfer all the ultrareflectives they need to have equal defenses!"
"Yes sir!" Came the unanimous reply, and only one person needed to move their hands. That was the communications officer, whom expected an order to open a channel.
The behemoth of a ship awkwardly moved above the much smaller newcomer vessel, and the blue glow of the standardized Federation plasma-laser shielding extended around the pair. Inside the shield, tiny dots of light maneuvered to cover the hull of the newcomer, and once they were all in place it looked almost exactly like an old Earth Alliance cruiser just after the shielding revolution.
"All power to shields!" Ordered Fergus. "They'll take it from here, we just have to watch and make sure they don't get harmed."
Sorry for not posting, I was sick for a bit then I got overloaded with homework, and only now have I gotten an internet connection to work. Will post tomorrow. Maybe.
So first, you make a Mary Sue OC. Then you ship them with every single main character, no matter their sexual orientation. They then save the day.
The AIF is stupid and paranoid.
Galactic Center Anomaly
A radar disturbance has been reported in the galactic center, as it could be Seeder in origin, a war fleet of 100,000 Abh and Dolphin ships has been dispatched to deal with it. After arriving, the ships raise their shields are power their weapons, training them on the unidentified newcomers. Torrents of fighter craft swarm out of the Federation launch bays, moving into attack squadrons which then thrust collectively towards the unidentified fleet. A message is sent from the IFV Achilles to the unidentified fleet, along with a translation matrix.
"This is Lue spen Ekuryua of the Allied Interstellar Federation, not responding to this message in any way will be considered confirmation that you are our enemy, in such a case, we will begin an attack. If you are not hostile, please forgive the apparent show of force, we're at war and don't want to take any risks."

Retsukuu
The AIF has finally gotten a location lock on Retsukuu, and of course they were too late because their computer systems are completely and utterly worthless. Fergus, Emily, Yuuki, Dmitri, and Empress Ablïarsec Néïc Dubleuscr Bœrh Parhynr Lamhirh (Who needs to get a shorter formal name) have been sent to the system along with their respective fleets, numbering 5 million warships total. This represents an extreme investment on the Federation's part, especially since they are at war already and Retsukuu logically poses little threat to them (Of course, she obviously gave up logic a while back).

After travelling through Fath to the outskirts of the Federation, the ships activated their wormjump drives and appeared above the planet in only a few seconds. They ignored the "possessed" ships, and instead headed straight for Retsukuu. Once they entered effective range, fighters swarmed Retuskuu, attacking her from every angle. The rest of the fleet began to barrage her with everything they had, creating an almost comical stream of missiles and directed energy and particle weapons from the fleet. Retsukuu didn't know it, but the nanobots inside of her could easily be used against her, especially if the tractatori dispatched with the fleet could find a way to detonate them. Fergus meanwhile, concentrated on probing Retsukuu for a weakness, the best way to use magic against her. However, for some reason he could not get what he thought was nothing more than an insane figment of his imagination out of his mind.
[i]Lahnha, do what I have asked, preserve our memory. While we survived the war, there is no way humanity could last forever. I have always thought I hated humanity, but truthfully, my love for my species is second only to my desire to return home. Remember us, learn from our mistakes, and never let anger cloud your judgement as my people have. You can be better than us, perhaps you can bring peace to the universe. If you cannot, then make sure some other species does. Pass on the dream of peace.[/b]

SISA Andal Provektkrei Av
Lahnha stopped speaking and moving, she could hear Fergus again. It was so much stronger now, no longer the faint whisper it had been so many years ago.
"Captain to bridge, forget the alien quantum gate. We're performing a wormjump, go to the coordinates marked by my magic." She said into her microphone, and the ship lurched forward as the engines began to burn towards the position at which the wormhole would appear. The engine test proved that the acceleration tractors would not be needed, and the ship floated through the wormhole unarmed, exiting it in just a few seconds. They appeared in the middle of a warzone.
"Hide behind the largest vessel." She ordered, the engines of the ship seemingly complying themselves as they began burning for the IFV McClain. Those best trained in magic projected a shield around the whole ship, almost as strong as a standard AIF plasma-laser shield. The ship mainly stayed behind the McClain, and the AIF didn't seem to care. There was no way that the vessel could hurt the McClain, and it wasn't harming the battle by taking cover.
Depends on what you want, he is one of your characters, after all.

"By the gods... an entire planet? Gone? Our people have the power to destroy cities with a single weapon, and I thought that was horrific enough, but entire planets? I never even imagined such an atrocity! At least the Alliance species survived, I can't imagine the foe that caused that kind of destruction! Can you send us the coordinates of your homeworld? You are a magical species, and while the energies are different, my people could pick up a message from us if we were near a hub of magical activity. We assume your homeworld would be such a place."
Shuroh, SISA Andal Provektkrei Av
The final elevator to the massive craft came into the bridge, it's doors opening to reveal the command crew. The other crewmembers walked around the room, some in an almost dreamlike state from the excitement. Just a few years ago, they had been using steam power to travel between continents in a few weeks, now they were about to travel between the galaxies in what was expected to be an instant with an engine that works off of what was once a crazy fringe theory. Front and center in the new group was Lahnha Latayn, someone whose entire species considered a genius. She had been picked to captain the mission, due to apparently inventing everything that made it possible. She had also suggested that the exploratory crew consist of scientist and the best soldiers, saying that it was possible that hostile life could be contacted. Everyone immediately agreed, as there was no doubt in their minds that Lahnha could possibly be wrong.
"Captain, final prep is complete. The negative mass is in position for wormhole generation. All military personnel and civilians are secured in the acceleration tractors. We're waiting for your command to cast off." Said T'Vaklian Yepar, head of the ship's engineering crew.
"Perfect! Activate bridge acceleration tractors Mr. Yepar! Miss Entayta, engage neural link!"
"Acceleration tractors engaged Captain!" Called out Yepar, and the blue glow of the tractors latched on to the crew on the bridge, who had to remain outside acceleration chambers to operate the ship.
"Neural link engaged!" Said Entayta, and the crew found that they could control the tractors, allowing them to move around the bridge.
"Initiate wormjump!"
The ship lurched as the sublight M/AM drive lit up, propelling it forward at 1g of acceleration. The crew was held in place by the tractor beams, which relieved the fears of everyone slamming against the wall at relativistic speeds. A wormhole appeared in front of the ship, a brilliant cloud of blue that engulfed the ship.

Two minutes later, in Equestrian space, a Federation-style wormhole opened. A huge starship came through, bristling with sensor arrays and primitive landing craft. The acceleration tractors on the bridge were deactivated, and the crew began trying to get a visual of the planet that they had just entered orbit above. The moment the sensors officer got a visual, his mouth dropped right open and he screamed at the top of his lungs.
"Akatii! Akatii! Ei Ophr Tleir! Tleir Inhav!" Translated, his words meant "Contact! Contact! There are lights! City lights!"
The rest of the bridge crew rushed towards his monitor as fast as they could, and he put it on the main screen for the rest to see.
"Comms! Open a channel, send a translation matrix for reference!"
The comms officer activated Lahnha's mic, which she was wearing on her head, and sent the translation matrix as ordered. The office nodded to Lahnha, telling her to begin.
"This is Captain Lahnha of the Shuroh International Space Agency, currently commanding the Starship Andal Provektkrei Av." As she was speaking, Lahnha headed for the nearest landing shuttle. After she had left the bridge, she continued. "This is our first contact with an alien species I can actually talk about without being out into an asylum, and I wish to meet with you face to face. I can feel your magical energy, it is different from ours, and it seems... fainter almost. No matter, I have come to search for someone who asked for my help. He called his species human, and his name was Fergus McClain. I first contacted him by accident while trying to speak to my best friend after they moved away. Somehow, I ended up speaking to Fergus instead. After that first conversation, he told me I had saved his species from extinction. Turns out he was about to kill his entire species, including himself. He recently told me to preserve the memory of his species, as he expected his people to destroy themselves over beliefs. His nation is the Earth Alliance, and his species human. Have you contacted them?"

Alien Contact
The other species (Called the Ethra'Hirel) has joined the Federation as well, and they too appear to be a Terran species as well! Apparently the Boskops took an interest in them for the evacuation effort, realizing that these reptilians were on the verge of evolving sentience. Turns out all they needed was a way for the mutations allowing conscious thought to stay alive throughout the generations, as most of the mutations also involved decreased law strength. Being on a Boskop spacecraft was what allowed that. The Ethra'Hirel appear to be quite militaristic, but only to protect themselves and their allies. They have been referred to by the Boskops as "Extremely loyal" and "More Noble than any other".
