I don’t know how I feel about sacrificing the other two Digimon. It feels unnecessarily sad. I know they’re not technically dead, but we thought up personalities for them. @Lord Orgasmo gave his mons nicknames and everything. We get attached to them, and now they have to become cannon fodder for our main Digimon to be able to evole?

I get what you're saying. I don't want to anyone to sacrifice any of their Digimon if they don't feel comfortable with the idea. How about we just let each person decide for himself how he/she wants their partner(s) to Digivolve? For me personally, it makes sense that only one of my partners reaches Mega stage eventually (tho all 3 of them will have personalities), but I guess there's nothing wrong with people maxing out all three of their creatures.
Right.

Character sheet.

Here's a suggestion. I'd like hear what you guys think about this idea.

To have our Digimon go from Rookie to Champion they have to merge with us. Think of this like a combination of Biomerging (like in Digimon Tamers) and Spirit Evolution (like in Digimon Frontier). The result is the Champion level of the Digimon we were going for.

But there is more. Your other 2 Digimon will have to be sacrificed into data for your third to Digivolve. After the battle is over, your Champion can remain that way OR De-digivolve back to the Rookie level and then your 2 sacrificed Digimon will reappear to you as 2 eggs.

For example. You have Agumon, Gabumon and Patamon. You, the human, merge with Agumon to Digivolve into Greymon. Gabumon and Patamon are sacrificed. Afterwards, you can stay merged with Greymon or you can separate from him and get Agumon + 2 eggs.

Then, to go from Champion to Ultimate, we need to find a Crest/ArmorEgg (like in Digimon Adventure). To reach Mega level I was thinking we need the Spirits (like in Digimon Frontier).

Thoughts?

As a fourth person entered the scene with just the same amount of confusion and also accompanied by the little creatures, it started to look as if they had been brought there, wherever that was, for a reason. He addressed his Kapurimon directly. "You there. Now that you can talk, can you tell us where we are and how we got here?"
Kapurimon looked at Minomon as if they were two scientists who had to explain something to a child. "Why, this is the Digiworld of course. I can't really explain how you got here but for quite some time now, we have been expecting you. You see, we have this prophecy of a select group of heroes that will save the Digiworld from destruction. I am positive that those heroes are you guys."
Nathan rolled his eyes. His dreams sure boosted his ego. "I think you'll end up quite disappointed then."
Minomon interrupted Kapurimon. "You may not realize it yet, but together we will do great things. But... I won't be any good to you in this form."
Nathan just listened to the speech before commenting.

Minomon continued: "All of us can now talk but we're not very good at fighting yet and unfortunately, there will be battles ahead. We can Digivolve even further and becomes rookies, where we can actually fight."
Nathan looked at the Digivice. Surely it wouldn't be that simple.

"Hold your horses, Nathan. The first Digivolution may have been triggered by the Digivice, but to reach the rookie level, each of us needs to develop some sort of connection with their human."

Nathan looked at the Digivolved versions of the Digimon the other people brought along. Lucas and Seth both gained a DemiVeemon. Cadence and Seth both got a Kyupimon. Seth's last Digimon was a Moonmon. Cadence's team was completed with a Budmon and a Tokomon, while Lucas' team contained a Minomon and Tanemon.

The most pressing matter was addressed by Seth. "So this is all well and good, but, uh... now what? We should probably find a way out of here. Maybe find a road or something to follow that'll lead us towards some sort of civilization."
Nathan knew Seth was right, they should figure out what to do next. "Well, Digimon, lead the way then."
It was Minomon who came with a suggestion. "If we all need to form a connection to get us to the rookie level, the best place to start would be the barrows just north-west of here. Unless Vademon's minions have taken that place too."
Nathan frowned at Minomon. "Vademon?"
Minomon sighed and looked at Kapurimon. "Do you want to tell them?"

Kapurimon cleared its throat and tried to enlighten the group.
"Our world is facing a great threat called Lilithmon. Each of her four Hell Generals has been assigned a part of the Digiworld to dominate. Where we are now, Vademon is in control. His gun will give you a lot more than just a flesh wound. If you want to be able to defeat him, you need to get us even further than the rookie level, but let's take it one step at a time."

Nathan hesitated. This was a lot to take in and he barely knew this people and their Digimon. After sighing deeply, he decided the only way was up. "Well then, let's get started at those barrows then."
Or do it in bold text, to emphasize that it's a digimon talking, and it doesn't get lost in the text.

Good idea. I'll go edit my post.
@Lord Orgasmo@Crimson Flame@DankDutch

I've added the in-training levels of my Digimon in my character sheet.
I will edit this each time they digivolve. Please do the same with yours.

I've put the Digimon's spoken text in white.
I think it could be an idea to do this for all Digimon to avoid getting too many colors mixed?

Nathan felt some sort of relief when two more people seemed to be clueless on what those little creatures were. If this was a dream, wouldn't the other people know and explain everything to him? Something told him he was very much awake. The blond boy-next-door type and the girl in purple both had a winged creature among their new friends. There were also some strange looking ones like a waterdrop and a thing with a leaf on top.

"Uh, hi there. Name's Seth.
"I'm Cadence by the way."

Nathan reached out his hand to shake theirs. "Nathan."

"You know what's going on here? I seem to be a little lost. And uh... You know what these things are? It looks like you have a couple of them, too."
"I somehow wound up here with these cuties at my feet. As if by magic."

So none of them knew how they had gotten their or where they were? Surely, it couldn't be some f'up experiment with them as lab rats. Then suddenly Nathan remembered something.

"Well, the only information I can share is what I've read in this book right here. It says those devices over there are called Digivices and we're supposed to somehow use them to Digivolve these little creatures. No idea how to do that, though."

Nathan aimed his Digivice on the three creatures that have been following him, as if it would somehow automatically do what it's supposed to. After a few attempts, he sighed and stopped trying. "Hmm.. How about.. trying to use it on them one by one.."

He aimed it at the left creature first. "Come ON. Do whatever this thing is here for. Digi..something.." He looked at the word in the book again. "Digivolve!"

A beam of light came from the Digivise and hit the creature, changing the appearance of the creature drastically. It now looked like a cat with a helmet. "Finally, you figured it out!" the creature said. It could talk! This definitely took Nathan by surprise and he gasped while staring at the thing.

"Oh, don't be frightened. My name is Kapurimon. Now I can explain everything to you. All of these creatures you see are at their lowest level and should be Digivolved so they become more like me."

Kapurimon looked at Seth and Cadence. "Go ahead, your partners are waiting for you do the same."

Nathan stared at the leafy creature and repeated the Digivolve process. It turned into this larva-looking creature. "I am Minomon." it said.

Nathan looked at his companions and was glad he could at least communicate with them now. He then looked at the Digivolved version of the creatures that Seth and Cadence brought.

So, for our first IC post, do we do the same thing as you? (Find our three mons, a book, and the digivice)

Where exactly are we? Is it a forest, a random field, the desert?

Are all the characters together? (Meaning will Cadence see Nathan and whoever posts before me? Related: Is there only one book we all have to share?

- Doing the same or similar thing would make the most sense.
- We are sucked in the Digiworld.
- We are at the same place. There is one book.
Looks good y'all!
Despite the battle going in the right direction, Kjolmar had to drop out in order to get to a poke center. His old mentor decided to accept his request to send one of his water type Pokemon over to Galar but only if he was able to receive it within the next ten minutes. Frustrated with his mentor's stubbornness, Kjolmar apologized to Aro and Lark and rushed off to the nearest poke center.

As soon as he received his loyal Pokemon called Caliban, he ran back to where the battle was, fully aware it could be over by now. He tried not to be too bothered by it, at least he now had Caliban back on his team. Caliban had a power that resembled the one from Neo so that would definitely make up for Tweener's lack of experience.

What Kjolmar didn't know was that he was being followed by 3 Rocket Leaders, informed by the grunt earlier. The woman of the trio was called Sierra and she brought her Houndoom. The buff guy next to her was called Cliff who brought a Tyranitar. Then there was the third one, Arlo, he travelled with his Scizor. It was unclear what the trio wanted with Kjolmar or the others but getting on Team Rocket's radar was never a good thing.

Unaware of his followers, Kjolmar rushed to Aro and Lark. He was exited to introduce them to Caliban but he was even more exited to see if the battle was still going. "Guys! Is it over?"
