"No kidding," Ariana muttered--she couldn't admit she wasn't paying because she was scared. She just sighed and shook her head. "It's no big deal, I guess," she added, rubbing at the back o her neck. "Uh, I'm Ariana. Wha--who are you?" She eyed the girl, forcing herself to smile awkwardly. Please be human, she thought hopefully.

Ariana was walking quickly, putting as much distance between her roommate and her as possible. She was clenching and unclenching her fists and shaking her hands free of the stress. He was trying to scare you--so calm down, she thought in annoyance. Suspiciously, she glanced at her shadow as it followed her down the hallway and then--crash. She had run into another girl--a red head--who's attention was focused on the room numbers among them. "Oww..." she groaned. She had managed to stay standing; Ariana was built of muscle, but the impact still hurt.
