"You were staring at me like a creep," Lillah pointed out defensively. And she continued to dislike the way he looked at her, smiling in a way that she didn't exactly perceive to be friendly. "Why don't you stumble back home?" She was tempted to add some cliche line about how dangerous it was to be out after dark, but she didn't have much room to talk. Granted, she was confident enough that she could knock the drunken smirk off of the man's face if he tried anything funny. She doubted any confidence he had was backed up by the sort of strength she had--especially since he seemed pretty wasted.

They could have made one of the coop stand in Assassins female but you wouldn't see yourself playing that female Assassin because you are playing Arno no matter what.

Maybe I should've clarified that my frustration extends primarily to my favorite game mode: multiplayer, where they've always offered female characters since the mode was introduced. But yeah, they could have made one of the stand ins female, especially since you're stuck with Arno no matter what.

I don't really care about what they do in campaign mode.I've been playing male assassins single player since Altair and I've been happy with that. Single player mode isn't my problem.

However, Ubisoft's excuses anger me to no end. "We can't animate women in time--" Between 9 studios? Clearly, that's 9 studios that need a whole new team of animators if adding boobs to a model is too difficult. It's bull and I'm not going to support a company that doesn't care to recognize that very much of their fanbase has been women.

Really, the games have been going down hill for me since Revelations. And if it wasn't this, I'm sure something else would discourage me from playing AC anyway. I really used to like the story but lately, it's just been...weird and not too great.
I didn't catch it at E3, but Fantasy Life for the 3DS looks ridiculously cute and fun. Might have to check that out.

I still need to post, but just assume Lacey is writing until I do. I'm having some writer's block on this thread in particularly for some reason
Just submit a race sheet first. Again, the race needs to be approved before the character
I'm a firm believer that representation of all kinds is important--even, if not especially, in role play. And it's definitely easier to write into some RPs compared to others, but I believe it's doable no matter the RP with enough determination. The most common ones I see played out in role plays are amputees and the blind.

Unfortunately, it rarely works. Not usually at the fault of the RP itself, however, but at the fault of the player. If you can't empathize with your character well enough, you're not going to be able to play him effectively. If you have it in your head that the disabled can't contribute, you're not going to have much to contribute within the RP either.
Lillah was coming upon the park as she turned the corner. She assumed the most she would find there was druggies and drunks. Sure enough, a man clung to a bench as if protecting himself and his alcohol against the dark night. Though, his expression was annoyingly amused and curious as he stared at her. For fucks sake, she thought in irritation as she still approached him. Typically, a strange drunk man in the park was a young woman's cue to take a detour, but Lillah continued on her path with nonchalance. Either he was harmless or harmful--and if he was the latter, Lillah was right where she needed to be to solve some of the problems in town.

Instead of passing the man and continuing on her route, she slowed to a stop before the bench, scowling at him. "Can I help you?" she prompted aggressively, pulling the music from her ears and letting it spill out into the night yet again. Predictably, her breathing was heavy from all the energy spent and beads of sweat trickled over her olive skin. Her tank top was darkened with perspiration, as well, and the phone strapped to her upper arm blinked to life as an app encouraged her to keep running--don't stop now! However, the man before her had her attention: he was dressed too nicely to be a hobo so any business he had in the park was worthy of inquiry.
I have no idea. I've been following, but no one's been posting for the building group.
Awh, okay. :(
Yay, assuming it's done right. I agree with what Pachamac is saying, really. Most of the other issues I have with romance is within a group setting. One on one, I've never had an issue.

That said my problem with romance in a group setting is that it all too often detracts from the importance of other relationships dynamics. And God forbid the romance is ever one sided. Just recently a player changed the sexuality of her character so that the crush mine had on hers could eventually be returned. That's nice and all for the characters, but it eliminated a chance for some good character development. It eliminated what I would've preferred to see: a platonic friendship.

Romance also tends to lead to characters avoiding the same gender with group RPs. This irks me for a couple reasons: 1) LGBT characters are kinda left out of the romance altogether and 2) it again detracts value of platonic, sisterly / brotherly / mentor-apprentice type relationships. And they can be super awesome and fun. I'm not saying these sort of bonds can be built between characters of opposite genders, but very rarely is Male A's intention to become BFFs with Female A.
