/me comes to the conclusion that Kidd has as many problems understanding boys as boys have at understanding girls. In school, everything is simple and straightforward, except girls.Or, are you wondering why none of the main-cast has developed a love-interest in Cardin yet?

I'm not wondering anything. It's just that in a lot of media, dudes are the focus and any girls are just kinda on the side / there to make the dudes look better. RWBY totally flips that, haha. It's uncommon is all. People are complex, I get that, but I'm just saying that RWBY uses the males to make the females look better whereas it's usually females that are plot devices for the males.

I'd prefer all the characters be useful and contribute not only to the plot, but to the fight scenes that more or less make RWBY worth watching. I feel as though they butt monkey the male characters just so they can have the 'bragging rights' of being a show where their females are the dominant force because gurl powah is 'cool' nowadays and it 'breaks the norm' of female characters always being useless. The fact Ruby was like 'Oh fuck, we need back up, better call Jaune' does give me hope that Jaune's gotten stronger and his team will be useful for more than just 'lol hi im pyrrha get rekt' and the occasional Nora one liner though. Maybe everyone will be of use in the finale instead of Ruby mary sueing it up and soloing the final Grimm boss.

Well, for a lot of people, it's not only that "gurl powah is cool." Quite frankly, it's important. But, yeah, it breaks the norm as well. I mean, I agree. I like equal positive representation of male and females. But it's important to understand that's it's also perfectly fine to have one gender dominate the cast every now and again. It's just more-than-typical that that gender is male, so it's not just breaking the norm that women are becoming dominant in media, I'd say it's necessary. Legend of Korra does a good job of this, too (without making the guys useless like RWBY does, admittedly, haha).

But yeah, I would like to see more characters working together as well. I'm also really looking forward to Jaune's character development.

Whether or not Jaune is gonna be awesomeI have a feeling Jaune will kick Neo's ass-cheeks in a dance-off.-Almost immediately recognized her technique, knew Yang was screwed from the start. The only people who use an umbrella in combat are people who rely on grace over brute mauling, and Yang's only real strength has been mauling.-All of Yang's injuries were pretty much "Stop hitting yourself". (also, in about 30 seconds, people will say Neo is Torchwick's daughter, and a shameless panty-thief)Jaune, meanwhile, has strength of limp noodle, can't use against him what he don't got.

Yeah, Neo played it very smart and makes me wonder what she knows about Yang's semblance. She kept her blows to a minimum, where as Yang is used to just letting people beat on her until she can counter, haha.

I like this twist on the dudes not being useful tbh, lol. I couldn't care less that they get screen time just get their asses kicked. I wouldn't enjoy it in everything I watch, but it's different and I appreciate it for that. It's also interesting that the show applies the reverse (almost) Bechdel test. We've yet to see two men talk to each other about anything but a girl or girls unless they were fighting or demonstrating a negative male-male relationship. Examples that come to mind would be Sun talking to Neptune about Blake and Neptune and Jaune talking about Weiss. Or Jaune and Ren "talking" about girl problems.

I find it fascinating and it's not something I expected to see with so many men working on the show.

Seems a tad obvious, but that's happened before (Blake being Faunus, Penny being an android).

Haha Ikr? RWBY hasn't had all too surprising plot twists.

Otaku95 said On a side note did anyone else catch that RvB reference?

I did not, but I don't follow RvB much. The only RvB I've caught this season was, "Like a puma?"

Guys. That Neo.

Dude.

She was perfection.

Neo is awesome, Chainsaw Lieutenant isn't bad, that mysterious figure with the Grimm mask is certainly intriguing, since they apparently use blades made of pure Dust or something, and I bet it'll be suggested, but I don't actually think it's Summer Rose personally. Just a hunch, even if they did save Yang from being aggressively shanked before ripping a hole in reality to leave.

Not Summer Rose...but maybe Yang's mom?

Now then...This plan doesn't seem very well thought out. Leading the Grimm to Vale I can understand, but after ramming through a wall, how were they expecting to unload all the stuff they had on that train before the Grimm caught up and started killing everything? Then again, I suppose the people inside the train weren't all knocked unconscious like Team RWBY was on the outside of the train.

Yeah I'm not sure. Maybe they'll be unloading / escaping while the grimm wreak havoc.

On an other note, we learned that dust works universally with semblances. I thought it was just Weiss' glyph-stuff, but Blake was able to use the elements in a p. cool way.

But MVP of the episode is definitely Neo. I mean, Monty confirmed early on that Yang had never lost a fight. And yet Neo single handedly kicked her ass--without breaking a sweat, it seemed. She's gonna be trouble.
It's fine. Have fun!

We're still waiting on people to post anyway. We might have to open it back up again to fill spots if they don't show

Guys. This episode.

Guys.
Dagny

She heard Ariadne say her name, but her attention was back on the Draconian before it was ever off. She just cocked an eyebrow at him as he blabbered on. His cool, nonchalant attitude just added to her irritation, quite frankly and she crossed her arms.

"...Get out of my way. Otherwise.. well. I think we all know what will happen."

"Ohhhh," Dagny drawled, realization flickering across her face as she uncrossed her thick arms to tap at her chin. This asshole thought he could take her, for one. For two, was he seriously belittling attacking another student? And a sexy snake chick of all students? "Right, right. I get it. Yeah...no." She wasn't fast, but she was suddenly throwing her dense fist into the Draconian's snout. On a human, she'd hold back because she didn't necessarily want to break jaws and teeth over this, though he wasn't human so she allowed more force than usual. Assuming that hit and the Draconian took a moment too long to recover, she would smash her second fist into his stomach not really bothering to hold back below the neck.
Not typically unless I'm close to one of the RP'rs. And it's been a long, long time since I've been close to a frequent RP'r...

But I guess I should follow a RP or two just for reading whether or not I know someone, haha. Definitely a potential learning experience.
Dagny

Her head tilted slightly as she watched Ark give Ari his jacket. A better person wouldn't have been bristled by such an innocent and kind gesture, but annoyance vibrated up Dagny's spine. First this this guy attacks her and now he's playing boyfriend? She snorted as he stood up to face her, smoke filtering out from her nostrils. She smirked, though, making a point to show show off her jaws. Admittedly, she couldn't see the Draconian in front of her very well. Being far sighted meant he was something of a white blur before her. But she wasn't going to put on glasses to see the guy better and her mind wandered off a bit as she considered how ridiculous that'd be. Though she caught notice of the crinkle around his eyes--he obviously wasn't happy to see her. The tone of his voice when he acknowledged her confirmed that.

"It's Dagny," she corrected with slight growl to her voice. "Get it right, Mr. Nine," she provoked, poking a finger to the taller lizard's chest.
