Suddenly the attention was on him again, and Klaus remained frowning when confronted. Only his eyes narrowed as he processed the situation; he knew the rogue attack made the Kingstons look suspicious and it certainly didn't help that a Blackmoore went missing. Doubt finally trickled its way into his mind. He had thought that Mira would have no business orchestrating an attack like this, but now he wondered how the rogues would benefit from abduction. He finally spoke, slow and deliberate as he sorted his own thoughts as well, "I know nothing. Mira has no connection with the rogues, however." As far as I know, he thought to himself. He made a point to maintain lose eye contact with Beatrix and spare Alistair a glance as well. It was definitely a good time to take his leave--he didn't want to meddle too deeply into family affairs--but his protection of Mira as her sire held him there a moment longer. If these Blackmoores decided to act against her, he'd prefer to know before returning to the manor.
So, does this mean we should be figuring out partners/teams?
You can go ahead and plan OOC, but everything will be determined IC. Assuming we're doing this the same way as the first thread, students can choose their own partners.
Sweet, can't wait to start :D Though I'll be slow to post (if at all) this week since I forgot my laptop charger at home and probably won't get it back until the weekend. BUT don't wait up. I can catch up when I get back.
I've been struggling with this a lot since I was a kid and it's not even a nervous habit anymore--it's just something that I do. Luckily, I'm a little more conscious of it than some, and I never bite too low or close to the skin. That said, it's still a bad habit and one that I can't seem to stop. So, does anyone have any advice on how to go about stop biting my nails?
I love, love, loooooove Superman. I'm not surprised by the general dislike of him, though, haha. He is relatively dull and generic to many of the superheroes who have the spotlight today. In fact, in addition to what's already been said, Captain American is another favorite of mine who's similar in a lot of ways, but just done better. And, to be honest, my love for Superman is more of a nostalgia thing for me since my father really liked the superhero. As for my answer, I'm not even sure how I would go about the actual story itself, but ever since getting into anthropology, I've headcanoned Superman as dark skinned. I mean, he's all about the sun and using the sun's energy and, evolutionary speaking, dark skin is a result of a really sunny environment. Plus I like the contrast it adds to the pale, brooding, under-the-moon superhero Batman. I do know that anything I would write about him would emphasize his struggles to accept himself as Kryptonian / not human. I'm more interested in what's going on in a character's head than how many bad guys he's beating up. Edit: Also, reading through, I disagree also that he's supposed to be a symbol of what humanity should be. To me, Superman has always been representative of those who struggle to find their place in the world. He's aware early on that he's a freak of nature and it actually affects how well he can use his superhuman powers. It isn't until he grows and learns to accept himself as a Kryptonian (an outsider on earth, not human) that he reaches his peak strength. The whole point of Superman (in my opinion) has always been to show that you should embrace who you really are because that's what can make you great. As mentioned, he doesn't have a metaphorical (nor literal) grenade to jump on like Steve Rogers did. That's because his story isn't about earning your super powers or strength or anything. It's about accepting it, even if it makes you stand out.
Although Vivian continued to play it cool, she internally relaxed as the fight ended before even starting. Then a newbie walked in, and her gaze flickered to him with narrowed eyes. Robin was kind enough to greet him and the young man revealed himself to be Pestilence--and a half-vampire. Vivian's eyebrows furrowed together; why were her fellow halfies so okay with announcing their heritage? Was it strange of her to be so self conscious about her human half? Not liking where that introspection was going, she offered a wave and a "Yo," to the newcomer before falling back into silence.
I'm dumb af and I forgot my laptop charger at home. I'm at work now, and I'll be working again Thursday, but other than that I won't be able to post much until next week probs. But I'll try to get on when I can.
Okay, so I'm an idiot. I forgot my laptop charger at home so I won't be on much this week save for today and Thursday. I'll post from here at work when I can, but I don't even have a smart phone so I'm limited save for work, lol.
"We won't be able to work together if we don't know something about one another," Vivian offered. She opened her mouth to add more when Pinkie pulled her thin sword and closed it again. Oh you have got to be kidding me, she thought in irritation, looking between her and Muscles as she waited for something to happen. Though, seeing that Dracul wasn't so quick to act, Vivian decided to speak up after all. "Okay, kids, let's not kill each other before we even get a whiff of fresh air. Save the squabbling for once the hunt is on so the boss man can't step in," she suggested, her gaze sliding over to Serenity in challenge. "After all, what sort of coward starts fight only for it to be stopped?" Vivian was not about to let these freaks ruin her chance at freedom.
When he admitted he knew her sire, Klaus watched Beatrix's whole demeanor change. Unsure if that was good or bad-- "...I could show you just how fun it is to be a fighter and a lover." Oh, probably good, he decided, watching her a she stalked away. He rubbed at his nose, allowing his gaze to flicker away. Two thousand years and incoming flirting still threw the man off guard. When the head spoke again, Klaus' gaze was reeled back and he looked down again at the mess. With a wrinkle of his hook nose, he shook his head. "Perhaps I'll start my share come tomorrow night," he said, raising his shoulders helplessly. Then another member of the Blackmoore family who had been relatively quiet until now spoke up, bringing attention to an absentee. Not knowing of this Maria, Klaus fell back into an alert silence.
