Hi, Caesar, welcome to the guild!

Did you consider PanicAtTheFallOut as an alternative username?
Fang

The bunch was lively, save for a gentle looking woman with long white hair. Like Fang, she preferred to remain quiet and observe as the others introduced themselves. She smiled politely as their gazes met, looking away suddenly as Orkag bellowed with laughter. Despite being among the gruffest looking of the group, he didn't seem to mean any ill will. He was just loud and took a liking to the girl. She in turn explained some of her magic: nature and animal magic made sense, Fang decided as she glanced again to the cat ears upon her head. She remained still as her head turned to look around at the others as they continued to ask questions.

The fiery woman introduced herself, and Fang couldn't help the tilt of her head as watched her speak. She fairly asked about compensation. This service could be potentially dangerous, after all, and people need to feed themselves. The second pyromancer introduced himself as well, even summoning fire to show off his magic. She eyed his tattoos curiously; they were unlike hers in that they were simple. However, they were similar and clearly connected to his magic. Her smile faded at his aggressive display, but the warmth was nice.
Fang
While she didn't have a reason to trust the old mage, Fang wasn't too concerned about distrusting him either. The words he spoke seemed genuine enough, if vague. She nodded in acknowledgement of his explanations and glanced around at the others and found herself uncomfortable. Even with the cold, wet weather dampening her magic, she could sense not all magic was equal among her fellow magic users. Some of it seemed quite dark, and her gaze lingered on the large orc and the tall mage with a raspy voice and cloud of sickness. She refrained from verbal judgement, her attention flickering back to the old mage as he shot sparks from his fingers. She was pleasantly surprised that the room began to heat. How lovely.

The woman beside her had been radiating warmth, however, and Fang found her rough around the edges, but charming. She would have introduced herself, but she didn't have the time as the orc caught her attention again instead. She watched as he talked to the youngest member of the group. He asked a question no doubt on the minds of many, and she watched quietly, waiting on the girl's response. She supposed formal introductions were in order now that everyone has arrived.
Mirabelle Kingston
Mira was already prepared: she had her necessities with her in the couple bags she intended on taking to the Kingston's. So hearing that someone was sent to her mother to clear up any confusion was a relief, as that was her only worry. She imagined the elves were quite happy to hear that she was gone, on the other hand. It soured her mood, but save for lips twitching into a slight frown as she listened, it wasn't obvious. There thankfully wasn't much time to dwell on that, though, and her eyes flickered to the gates. Stepping through would bring her to Japan. Of course, she's never been there, but most of her video games of choice were produced there. Other than that, she know nothing about the country or its people.

She glanced around at the others: a few walked through the gates, some returned home first. With a shrug, she re-shouldered her bag and walked through the gates.

Her violet eyes flickered to the man, but then quickly wandered to the rest of the environment. It was a bright day and she squinted against the sun in irritation. Ugh. I can't wait to get inside. She fixed her hair as she looked back to the man, waiting.
Fang
She wasn't the first to arrive, as Fang was easily distracted by anything else that asked for her attention. She was committed to the journey itself, and it often meant taking any cue to wander off the path for a bit. Talking to strangers, playing with children, stopping to pet stray cats: there wasn't a concern too small to pique her interest. Clearly, she wasn't a person in much of a hurry, but she also wasn't one to inconvenience others due to her whims. So she arrived about on time, and she wasn't the last to arrive either.

Despite her indifference to time, she had been on her feet the entire day. So she was grateful for a place to sit, even if it was a hard, unwelcoming stone chair. She sat with a long leg dangling over with her foot resting on the floor while her other leg was bent so that her foot hid under her opposite thigh. The stone was initially cold against her foot, but she had sat still long enough that it wasn't terrible--and still more comfortable than standing for a half hour. Her comfort in a stone chair could be the least of her worries, though: against the cold outside she had a bald head and simple robes. She had not cloaks against the cold and the soles of her feet were rough from walking through all sorts of elements.

Some came in and introduced themselves, and she would follow politely. Other than that, though, she remained quiet and detached from the on goings of those around her. It wasn't until their host finally spoke that she paid much attention to anything in the room. She watched him curiously, as he jumped into introductions and then...left it up to them. Not many things confused Fang, but now she tilted her head and glanced around the room. She wasn't the only one lost, to be sure.

"Old Mage," she said--that wasn't exactly what he called himself but it was close--"What needs to be done? Why have you brought us all together?" Her tone was genuine, no hint of impatience or irritation. She couldn't help someone without knowing what they needed.
Mirabelle Kingston
Mira listened patiently as the woman expanded on the detail found in the letter. The relief that had flooded over her came back in tides as Elizabeth spoke. It wasn't her fault that she had failed so miserably in magic. It was certainly a weight of guilt and anxiety being lifted off her shoulders, and she gripped the hem of her sleeves. On top of it, the woman was offering a chance to practice in magic again, and grow stronger. The catch of fighting some evil being only piqued her interest further: it was an opportunity to show the Kingstons that she was worth something to them and to the world, even having human blood. Worry of injury came and went quickly--she was never one for anxiety or fear.

A tap on her shoulder jolted her out of her attention to Elizabeth, and her gaze hardened as she looked to the boy. Then her brow furrowed as she glanced down at her knees. "Ah," she muttered--it seemed she hadn't noticed even the sting of pain. Although he offered politely enough, his red-eyed expression didn't seem particularly friendly, so Mira was hesitant as she took the handkerchief. Was he albino? "Thank you," she said simply as she leaned to pat at the bit of blood on her knee.

When she stood straight again, the bleeding stopped and the boy's attention was elsewhere. Did he want the cloth back? She watched with a tilted head as he responded so eloquently to the woman and her request. So his name was Romani. Supposing she'd have the means to return the handkerchief later, Mira stuffed it into the small pocket of her black shorts. More of her peers were speaking, asking questions and agreeing to join this fight against evil. Should Elizabeth's gaze meet Mira's, she would nod to give her affirmation. Otherwise, she remained silent and allowed others to voice their concerns, learning names as best she good.

Mirabelle Kingston | 19 | Half-Elf

MAGIC
Transformation. Mira is loosely capable of shapeshifting parts of her body: her nails into claws, for example.

PERSONALITY
Mira comes off as rather quiet and serious. Once you get to know her...that doesn't really change. However, she is a woman of action rather than words. She prefers to express her loyalty or friendship physically or through material goods. As a result, she can be rather generous if she warms up to you. On the flip side, those she dislikes get none of the love. Instead, she can be surprisingly snarky and rude if you make a bad impression with her. Mira has a rather dry sense of humor--some would say she doesn't have one at all--and it's difficult to make her smile. Despite coming off as rather introverted, Mira generally craves stimulation from the world around her and falls easily into competitive activities, such as video games and martial arts. In addition, her snarkiness seems to be lost on elven family members, sometimes making her seem meek.

BIOGRAPHY
The Kingston family is renowned for their upholding of the status quo: peace, magical aptitude, philanthropy and charity, politeness, etc. However, Mira is a blight on a pureblood elven family's perfect record. She was born of an affair, her mother merely a human. The Kingstons are rather distasteful of the mixed bloodline, but luckily for Mira, they must maintain their reputation especially now as the world falls into chaos. Mira was raised between the two families, but often made to feel like a stranger among her elven half. Outright abuse is deplorable to the Kingstons, but emotional neglect is a lot more passive.

Among the Kingstons, she grew privileged enough to have access to education in magic. Forever a disappointment to her father and his family, however, she struggled to catch on. Transformation magic came easiest to her--and she still dawdles in it from time to time--but even that proved too difficult for her among the pressure and discontent she felt from her peers and teachers. She was slowly pushed away from formal training in magic.

Needless to say, Mira is happiest at home with her mother. Sometimes she stands out among her human family: she has long and slender limbs, perceptive eyes, and her ears are slightly pointed. But they care for her all the same. School has always been easy for her whether it was upper level physics or a rough PE teacher. Even then, though, she was always chalked up to being the shy kid and generally left alone by her classmates. It seemed to suit her, and she found quiet happiness in hand held video games and other simple distractions.

Since graduating, however, she has felt lost. She works simple jobs and still lives with her mother--occasionally visiting her father's side to maintain appearances. She has a tentative interest in beauty school due to her passion for fun colored hair, and has recently worked up the courage to finally apply.

EXTRA
• When she fell out of magic, she turned to martial arts instead.
• She's ambidextrous.
• She has a nose piercing.
• As a half-elf, half-human, Mira is unable to have children of her own.

Seems good, though I would keep the soul sense to reading emotions and such, not able to pluck actual images or solid thoughts - more a "he looks happy and calm but I know he wants to try to kill me any moment now..." sort of thing, just to head off any use further than that, though I mostly speak to head it off as you never said you'd use it as any actual mind reading. Beyond that, looks good to me, and worthy of the CS tab.

Thanks! And yes, just to assure you, that's exactly what I intended for soul sense. More of a boosted intuition thing, not anything like mind reading.
