My sister saw me watching the Co-Optional Podcast and thought I was skyping my friends. How ridiculous! I don't have friends.

The farm boy’s brief responses stung slightly, but there was no wound to her pride which Ghisronia couldn’t heal by gorging on copious amounts of food, which is exactly what she did.

“Can I call you Ghis?”

“Sure!” Ghisronia exclaimed, beaming broadly.

“My name's Lilianna but that's such a long name, so everyone calls me Lilly. Or shorty",

“Liliana? That’s such a pretty name!” The words flowed effortlessly from the larger girl’s lips, an almost flawless imitation of the giggly young maidens she’d found intolerable her entire life.

Ghisronia scooped up a handful of fried squirrel, scoffing it down with a loud crunch, licking up the remaining crumbs with her thick tongue. She chugged down a few decent glugs from her recently filled wine cup, before ripping the meat off of a rack boar ribs with her teeth and snapping it up like some crazed reptile. A ravenous look flashing across her eyes, Ghisronia snatched a large powder-slathered pastry off of the cake tray, stuffing it down in several quick bites.

"Wow, you sure are hungry," chirped up Liliana.

“Not exceptionally so,” Ghis confessed, in a tone that was slightly more akin to her true demeanour than the bubbly manner she’d been adopting whilst talking to the girl next to her “just a smidge peckish.” The corpulent young woman picked a lightly crisped pork pie off of a nearby serving tray; promptly followed by the rest of the tray’s contents, which all ended up in her mouth. “Besides, it’d be a shame to waste all this food.” She mumbled between mouthfuls.

"Just a man who enjoys his sprouts," the white-haired fellow remarked, in response to Ghisronia’s earlier statement.

“That makes one of us then,” Ghis replied, only half joking “Can’t stand those sickly green death-balls….Eurgh…” She scrunched up her face for dramatic effect, letting her tongue hang out. Now plagued by visions of sprouts, Ghisronia took the opportunity to devour some crisp honeyed-lizards, and begin work on a greasy chicken leg.

"I think he's a learned man,” Lillian whispered in Ghisronia’s ear, whilst she still had a mouthful of chicken.

"Look at his clothes, he reminds me of my tutor, back when--" the young girl stopped abruptly, which served to pique the thickset woman’s curiosity. She’d be a fool to take each of these people at face value, everyone had secrets after all, and the prospect of unravelling whatever it was that this seemingly innocent girl was holding close to her chest enthralled Ghisronia, but before she could inquire further she was rather abruptly cut off by a loud "Speak up, lassie, it's not polite to whisper.", followed by some curious head-bobbing.

“Lilly was just sharing with me how best to savour the taste of the orange-spotted eastern lizard.” Ghisronia shot back, keeping her tone polite and well-humoured. “Apparently running one’s tongue along said spots evokes a rush of flavour, however such a display would be unseemly at the dinner table, so my new friend thought it best not to speak this aloud. I’m sure you understand, sir.” Ghis gave a gentle nod, smiling sweetly before she turned back to Liliana.

"I'm so glad you're here," Lilly bubbled in a slightly more reserved fashion. "I thought I'd be surrounded by dark warriors and black mages. Glad there's someone like me here,"

Ghisronia grinned inwardly at the notion that she and this copper-haired stranger had anything more than their gender in common, but aloud she said “Me too! I was absolutely petrified that I’d be completely out of my depth here, but I’m so relieved to meet someone so sweet and amicable,” topping it off with a sugary little “I really hope we get a chance to know each other!”

Ghis spent the next few moments waging war on the banquet table; tearing through a plethora of pastries, several slices of meat, a farm’s worth of roast animals, and a few generous handfuls of sea food. Once her excessive spree was over, the young woman took some time to relax as her stomach let out garish gurgles, and her chair continued to buckle beneath her.
Sorry for the delay, I've been examing lately, but I'll get something up tonight. Shall also take a look at Kirk's link.

=========UPDATE========

Aaaaaand posted!
I figured we were just waiting for the king to make his announcement :)

Just waiting for a reply from Kierk before I do my next Ghis post. I thought it'd make sense to reply to everyone at once.
I just might have Lilly haunt Ghis with good intentions and innocent attempts to make conversation until the poor girl either grows to like her, strangles her in the forest or runs away screaming. I'm afraid that picking up on ill intentions isn't something that she understands. Hope that's okay ^^

Also, that youtube clip - hilarious ;D

I can see her getting annoyed at first, but then ever-so-slowly becoming over-protective of her, in a "no one gets to talk shit to her but me!" kind've way. Yeah, that's totally cool, I kind've assumed she was abit naive, which is why I targeted her on Ghis ^^

Heh, glad you like it! I saw my opportunity, so I took it shamelessly :P
So if Klaus befriends Ghisronia, is she going to eat him eventually?

Which, I mean, could make for a pretty fascinating plot but

Not so long as she finds him interesting, and he's pretty amusing, so I'm sure he'll be fine :P

Don't be silly, there's no meat on him :P

That too!

Hey, me again with stupid questions. Where is everyone's character from? Some have their origins listed but some don't. I'm interested.

Alright, so I'm a touch confused. We've got some people saying that the dining hall is filled with all sorts of people, some saying there are only twelve. It had been my assumption that more people were in attendance and simply would not accept the mission assigned them.
Are we deciding on twelve then? That'd be pretty important for my posts, at least.

I was under the impression there were twelve, so I'd go with twelve. I think those who are saying "all sorts of people" are referring to the difference in cultures/character between all our guys, not a large number. Atleast that was my interpretation.
Holy hell you go to bed and miss everything!

I think I looked away from about 4 hours, and when I came back the OOC had two new pages.
Ghisronia watched the peasant boy sit down next to her out of the corner of her eye, grinning ever-so-slightly, and giving her eyelashes the faintest flutter.

“Nice to meet you, Jobe.” She said softly “My friends call me Ghis.”

Ghisronia took a voracious bite from her mutton, letting out a little squeal of pleasure as she savoured the taste. Lamb wasn’t her usual choice, but she very much doubted they’d be serving her preferred recipe at this feast, and she was more than happy to scoff down most kinds of meat.

“Hello!”

The merry greeting pulled Ghis back into the real world. Turning her neck slightly, she saw a girl about her height, with bright green eyes and coppery hair sit down next to her. She grimaced slightly when the girl began picking at the mushrooms, which Ghis had intended to eat herself, but decided it was best not to make a scene. Adopting her most authentic fake smile, Ghisronia greeted the girl in an overly-pleasant manner, channelling her best ditz blonde.

“Nice to meet you! I’m Ghisronia.” She said, with a great big cheesy grin.

This one seemed sweet and innocent. She’d have some fun with her.

“Wine, my lords?” called out a serving boy from over the other side of the room.

“Over here, please.” She shouted back, gesturing to the empty flagon in front of her.

Polishing off her mutton, and swallowing a deep burp, Ghisronia picked a few cuts of roast swan off of a nearby serving tray, placing them down on her own plate. Not quite satisfied, she cut herself a chunk of bread and a generous slice of cheese, snatched up two fried squirrels, and scooped up a rack of board ribs.

Nosily tucking into her second plate, Ghisronia turned to address the pair who were seated on either side of her.

“So where have you both come from?” She asked with just the right amount of feigned sweetness, licking a few crumbs off of her dark red lips.

She gave the peasant boy’s bulky form a quick look over, smiling just enough to not seem to keen.

“I’m guessing you do a lot of heavy lifting?” she asked coyly.

The young woman was quick to make a considerable dent in her meal, breaking it up with occasional sips of mead from the large metal mug. She picked a few sweet rolls off of the pastry tray, absent mindidly popping them into her mouth before leaning heavily back on her chair, causing it to moan rather worryingly loudly as it strained beneath her.

Her eyes drifting over the other guests, Ghisronia found them settling on the white haired fellow, who seemed to have an air of something other about him. Her interest adequately peaked, she called out to him.

“I can’t help but shake the feeling there’s something more to you, sir.” She declared rather suddenly, with a sugary, honey-like quality to her voice, which held an undertone of something a little murkier and more ambiguous; like the sing-song voice of the handsome cut-throat who lurks about in dingy bake alleys, calling out to unsuspecting young girls, before drawing them in and robbing them blind.

Biting the head off of one of her fried squirrels, Ghisronia undid the bronze-clasped belt she wore around her vast waist, giving her a little more room to breathe as her large stomach oozed outwards.
^word. I anticipate Klaus will pick mercilessly on Jobe like the shy kid in the back of the classroom, skirt nervously around Ghisronia, and study Lily with a regrettable lack of respect for personal boundaries when her magical abilities become known.

Heh, can't wait to see this all unfold!

@Kingfisher That feeling is entirely mutual - I was so grateful Lilly got to pick a spot between Ghis and Jobe ^^ Did you also notice that the entire cast seems to be at least half a foot longer than either of those girl, btw?

I'm not sure the three of them will get along well in the conventional sense, but it'll certainly be fun to play out. I did indeed! Maybe that's what drew them to each other? :P
Thoroughly enjoyed Lillian's first post, @Dominique . Love the sense of innocence about her. Can't wait to see what happens when all of these awesome contrasting personalities get a chance to mingle!
