My favorite bit was when Wesley subtly referenced Thor and Iron-Man.

It was a bit on the head, but as the first Defenders show it has to establish the tone for the others. The connection with the MCU was emphasized more at first, along with the Batman Begins references, as something to anchor it while it developed a distinct mood. It's especially clear with Battle of New York enabling the Kingpin's plans, where they take an MCU element and turn it into something darker and more socially involved. Other than the Kingpin being awesome, I thought the finale had considerable flaws, but the series has definitely made a world for the future characters to inhabit.

I'll feel silly now if you weren't being ironic.

Daredevil

I think things improve quite a lot halfway through the season, in episode 6 we get to see some of Matt's limitations. Episode 7 seems to mark a shift in tone slightly away from realism, but it is one of my favourite episodes. I'm also really loving the shows focus on the Kingpin, seems to have been more his origin story than Daredevil's. I'll get to watch the finale tonight, but even if that's crap it was A.K.A Jessica Jones I was looking forward to most anyway.
