It's your match, do whatever you want. Just if it's painfully slow then thats's how it is lol
The trade off for raising the rank requirements with Bronze's addition is overall much higher stat caps compared to the GBA games as well as reclassing and (more prominent) skills.
Those are the ranks they have in Fire Emblem Awakening.

etc

You also have to remember that this is PvP. In PvE it's ok to have those higher-tier weaponry by lower in skill rank (although this was changed in Fe13 despite no PvP).

A mercenary, a monk, a cavalier, a troubadour, all with e-level weapons. Cavalier has both sword and lance. Add a hand axe to Lord loadout. If I know what that amounts to, I can do reclass and distribute vulneraries and d level weapons.

Well so far that costs 20050 gold.

Mercenary: 4800
Monk: 3900
Cavalier: 4900
Troubadour: 3700

Bronze Sword (x2): 700
Bronze Lance: 350
Light: 500
Heal: 600
Hand-Axe: 600

That leaves 9950 gold to spend on the reclass options, and possibly another unit if you have enough left after that.

That doesn't include the vulneraries.
Jsyk eddie I switched from a straight sword to a rapier on my CS. Just a minor thing but it makes much more sense for Vaahn's archetype.
"That's good. My name is Vaahn, pleased to make your acquaintance," he responded with a slight bow. With Shiro's second comment, Vaahn turned his gaze to the base of the hill. With his keener eyes, he was able to see the cart resting in front of a tall, dark figure. The vendor who had given pursuit slowly came to a stop to assess the damage, but seemed unnaturally idle. Vaahn was too far away to decipher why.

"Hmm, yes. I suppose we should make sure no one else was injured."

In a fluid motion, he pivoted and began to walk down the hill.
Olsted! Hiiiiii
What the-

Without a moment's notice, Vaahn was lurched forward by Shiro's air-borne body, knocking him down flat as the dragon tumbled for another few feet. He rose to his feet and dusted himself off, and looked up to see a vendor panicking as he frantically followed the now-runaway cart. Several other people has seen the ordeal, but they quickly returned to their own business.

With his composure regained, Vaahn stepped towards Shiro, who was still on the ground, and extended his hand. "Are you alright?"
