Oh my god, it's funny you mention that because I'm actually getting a parrotlet once I start working again. My dream bird is probably a Greater Vasa or a Caique but it'd be super unfair for the feathered friend because I'll be in university in either a year or two years (hard to know in alternative schools) and they're a lot more needy than parrotlets, plus I wouldn't be able to afford it. That being said I still love parrotlets tons. My true dream bird is a curl crested aracari but as it happens I do not have the money for those guys, nevermind these.

I've taken care of parrotlets but only ever had one who I named Jirachi (I was younger than Salamander at the time, no comments), who was this poor little elderly guy who was a pity buy more than anything. Some guy on Kijiji put him up advertising him as a young and healthy bird when in reality he was kept in a cage far too small for a parrotlet (they need a lot of space for such a small bird) and kept there all its life after a traumatic incident in which it got stuck inbetween the doors to a nesting box that wasn't his and the mother cockatiel chewed most of his foot off. He was so scared of everything, the poor guy; human and bird alike. It took him over half a year to be okay with me and eventually made friends with our Budgie Emi who never got along with other birds (She was far more parrotlet in spirit than Jirachi and I swear she was as smart as a Gray - I know you're not supposed to have favourites but Emi was a very special little girl). So my experience with them isn't typical but I miss the little guy a lot. He was a one person bird as well (only me) but it almost felt things were more special that way.

I'm not usually this bad, I promise! I tend to get unfocused easily due to my ADD and it's worse when I don't get my daily nap, like today. Sorry to hear about your dad, I hope he's alright. And hopefully Salamander cooperates with you, I know what it's like looking after other people (and animals). Not always the most fun!

Sucks to hear about ADD. I get the unfocused thing because of MDD but I imagine it's much worse with ADD. (pair that up with GAD and you're constantly battling between being hyper aware with racing thoughts and an irrational sense of dread to giving exactly zero shits about life while being tired oblivious and self-loathing and it's just .~*.gReAt.*~.)

I'm hoping dad will be alright but he's a pretty tough guy, I'm sure he will be. And Salamander...He has his moments but for the most part he's a good kid, when he's not completely ignoring me and his responsibilities because of minecraft anyways.
And animals? Oh boy. I've got myself the dorkiest Green Cheek to have ever graced this planet and as much as I love him ((and he loves me if the pouncing on me the moment I go by his cage (he's figured out every lock in the universe so we mostly just trust him to behave, which he has after a few mishaps involving the toilet) and snuggling up to my hand and refusing to go away for three hours is any indication)), he can be a handful of trouble too.

I'd take the parrots over kids any day though. Except for Cockatoos. I freakin' love Cockatoos but I don't think I could ever live with one.

@Cynder No problem mate, 's all good. 'Sides, these things happen and sleep deprivation is a pain to deal with.

I was hoping to have mined PMed today but things have been kind of hectic as my dad's hospitalized and I have to care for the little ones, including Salamander (Whethere he likes to admit it or not, lmao) so it's been hard to sit down and focus. I've mostly just been around the OOCs of RPs I'm in. Things have quieted down a bit now but I'm not sure it'll be ready for today.
