As the light slowly dimmed down, Alex, half expected to come face-to-face with that slimy black horror from the year before. Yet instead, he seemed to be in front of some sort of castle. A castle academy? Seemed odd, but stranger things have happened. Like that teleportation spell. Or that Eldritch Horror. Glancing to his sides, it looked as though others were arriving as well. Not very surprising considering it was a school and all.

The next thing that grabbed his attention was an old man who started approaching. He was likely Tohru. He looked like a wizard, at the very least. He pulled sword out of... somewhere. And raised it skyward. A bright beam of light flew out of the sword. "Jeez, Talk about dramatic intros..." He mumbled. So this was his welcome huh? Better than a test or something, though he'd better not speak to soon.

As the old man walked away, he turned his attention to the woman who was standing near him. "So, uh... what now?" Presumably, they'd have a day or two to get situated, and likely show off what they know. Then classes would probably start. He just got out of college, so he was used to the whole "class" thing, but would Tohru be everyone's teacher? Or perhaps there were teachers for specific magic types. Guess there was only one to find out.

The day started out great! The semester was finally over, and it was only yesterday he received his Associates Degree. That still wasn't enough, though, he still needed another 4 years, but at least this was a major point in his career. Unfortunately, tuition was pretty expensive, and he needed to save up before starting his next semester.

He walked out of his house, to check the mail. He still lived with his parents, as he only had a part time job, and was paying most of his tuition. He really didn't like the idea of having student loans to pay off, and tried to keep his debt to a minimum. Right now, he was debt free, but would likely need to take out a bit to get started on the next year.

Reaching the mailbox, he looked inside. Nothing. Well that really wasn't unusual. He began heading back, when a winged woman seemed to descend from the sky in front of him. "What in the Goddamn-" He was cut off by the woman, who pushed a letter to him and simply said, "It's urgent", and disappeared.

Well that was... anyways, he began to read the letter. So that tentacle thing last year was likely said mysterious entity. Or worse, it wasn't. It looks like this Tohru guy was going to teach them magic. And something about saving the world? Well, at the very least, this could be an opportunity to explore unknown wonders. It sounded like a great idea!

He ran back inside the house to his mother getting ready to leave for work. "Uh... hey mom. I have to leave for a while.
It's... school related. I don't know when I'll be back." His mother smiled at him. "Another 'adventure' huh? All right. I'll tell your father. Stay safe, ok hun?" Alex nodded, and his mother left.

He ran to his room and began to pack things into a Satchel. A set of clothes, his wand, and a notebook. He assumed there'd be food and stuff there, but he might need money. He grabbed his wallet and looked inside. $44. Well, it might help. He put the strap of the satchel on his shoulder and held out the letter. "Well, here goes!" He ripped the paper in half, and watched as he was once more enveloped by a bright flash.

Biography: Alex was born to a pair of fairly well off set of parents. A businessman, and a banker, Alex would surely be a happy child. And he was. Alex, throughout his childhood, was fascinated with old things.
Ruins, artifacts, and old buildings were some of Alex's favorite things. Family vacations would usually involve tours through caves, or visits to museums. And Alex loved it.

During his sophomore year, he was asked the age old question "What do you want to be?" And of course, he already had an answer in mind. "An Archeologist!" And so he graduated high school and began his career as an Archeologist. Sort of.

When he was about 21, he decided to go on another cave tour, just for old times sake. But then he thought to himself, "Why don't I find my own cave?". Of course! This is what archeology was all about, finding your way through the unknown. So, he set off.

But where to look? Perhaps the mountains? Or the desert an hour or two away? Yeah, he'd start there. Making sure to have plenty of water, a turban for heat protection, and a few other possessions, he set off into the desert

Dear god this place sucked. How could it possiy get so hot? And there's sand stuck everywhere! Suddenly, through the sandy plains, he spotted a large rock, coming out of the sand. Running up to it to take a break from the heat, he noticed that it was not a rock, but a cave entrance! How odd!

Running inside, the temperature immediately plummeted. It felt like the beginning of winter for some reason. The cave went down and down only getting colder, eventually sprawling out into a large central room. Looking around, there wasn't much. Just some rocks. But as he turned to leave, some strange marks on a large stone caught his attention.

They were letters! But... not any words he knew. He looked closer and repeated the words aloud: OL ZIR A NOCO DE ELO. What could that mean?

Suddenly, the rock began to shine with a blinding light, and Alex felt his senses fade. Feeling the sensation of "waking up," he opened his eyes. All around him was endless swirling purple darkness. He couldn't move,
Just the sensation of falling. Out of the darkness, something even blacker appeared to writhe in the darkness. It got closer and closer, until he was face to... face(?) With a horrid shifting mass of eyes and tentacles.

He was overwhelmed fear as the creature's oily tentacles began to wrap around him. He'd felt fear before, but this... nothing could describe the horror he was feeling.
He could not scream. He could not move. He could only observe and accept.

Once completely wrapped up, two of the creature's eyes began to float down to meet Alex's fearful gaze. A booming voice spoke in his psyche: "OL EDNAS ELASA"

And just like that, it was over. Alex opened his eye once more, screaming in pure horror. He was back in the cave. His head was pounding as strange new knowledge swam in his head. Some strange language was also present in there. He sat up and looked back at the rock. It was still there. But the words were now... familiar to him.

"I am a servant of God" What the hell? What had he gotten himself into? He realised he was still shaking from fear,
Or perhaps it's the cold? Either way, he needed to get out. Now.

He turned to Sprint out, when something appeared in his mind. A strange creature, and some sort of chant?
Was this some sort of vision? He stuck his hand out towards the center of the room and repeated the chant.
"TOREZODU EN NOCO"

And enormous swirling... portal... looking thing opened in the floor. A clawed arm reached out and gripped the stone floor, and a creature began to claw its way out.

What the hell is that? Oddly enough, Alex felt no fear this time. He guessed after seeing that tentacle thing,
This thing was relatively tame. Alex began to walk backwards, and the creature followed. It continued to follow him, even out of the desert, back to his car, but it stayed at a respectable distance. It seemed intelligent enough. Maybe he could keep it?

Well, this creature wouldn't fit in his car very well so,
Seeing no other option, he asked the creature "Can you go home please? I'll summon you again later! Promise!"
The creature began to slowly fade, until it was gone. Well, that was easy. Alex returned home, the images of the tentacled horror still in his mind.

As the time passed, Alex began to get more in-tune with his magic. He eventually got a wand, made of pointy hickory, and lacquered to prevent damage. The creature, Alex would name Chuckles, and after sifting through his new knowledge, found it was known as a "Shambler".
He also would learn a new spell. He soon learned a fear kind of spell. He would throw out his hands (Or wand) and black smoke would billow out, and according to his friends whom he cast the spell, once you look into the black fog, you see monstrous versions of your worst fear.
Trying the spell on himself, Alex could confirm: this is true.

Still on the road to becoming an Archeologist, he resumed his studies, while also making sure to touch up on his magic.

Biography: Monica was born to a fairly normal family, and had an almost normal family. Her mother had heart problems around her 10th year (Monica's, not her mom's 10th year. Talk about a baby momma). Monica, constantly worried about her mother, took an early interest in biology. Her father, a Marine, was on tour...Somewhere. She never did find out. Once her college years came around, she took the opportunity to Major in Biology, with an emphasis on Cardiology. The years were expensive and toiling, and the years flew by through medical school.

Her mother passed due to a severe heart attack not a week after she got her Ph.D, and Monica was left alone, with nothing but a piece of paper, and a father who's off fighting who knows what, who knows where. Rather than breaking down and giving up, Monica was inspired to complete her medical training to make sure that nobody else had to be in the situation she was in.

One fateful day, she received a call from her father. He was in Belgium, of all places. He couldn't say why, But he was allowed to tell her where he was now. Ecstatic to hear from her father, she decided to move to Belgium, and found a job as a cardiologist in a local hospital. Things were... Different here. For starters, she had to learn French, but if that's what it took to meet her father after all these years. Things went by fast, but her father was nowhere to be found.

Then on another fateful day, things were quiet. Too quiet. The hospital felt... Empty. Then, outta left field, Several hundred people were rushed into the hospital, all sharing the same symptoms. Apparently there was some sort of outbreak. Despite her best efforts, this mystery disease kept getting worse. The patients eventually became aggressive and delusional, and their skin seemed to be... almost rotting. Because of this, many of the floors were on lockdown, and doctors and nurses were given keys to unlock the doors.

It would be about another week before the news reported some sort of outbreak. People were eating each other, and apparently they weren't staying dead. Then she remembered the mystery disease patients. This place was full of them, wasn't it? This turned out to be true, and all floors were locked down and barricaded. Monica, and about 6 other people were all stuck in the hospital, to an extent. They weren't physically trapped, more Scared Shitless and frozen in fear trapped.

Over the course of the next six months, everyone but Monica had succumbed to the virus, or been killed. Usually both. Monica would spend her days scavenging what she could from the surrounding areas, and she learned to avoid all encounters that she could. She would also trade her medical services in exchange for supplies. This usually worked in her favor, but she has had a few rude people come a-knockin', whom she would try and scare off with some made up drug names, saying stuff like "It'll shut down your kidneys and you'll die in days."

And then there is today. It's another day, and she's low on food again. Perhaps she'll meet a few people willing to trade, or perhaps she'll have to step out into the open again. As the groaning of the undead can scarcely be heard above her, she contemplates her decision.

Personality: Sarcastic, but puts others before her.

Biography: Monica was born to a fairly normal family, and had an almost normal family. Her mother had heart problems around her 10th year (Monica's, not her mom's 10th year. Talk about a baby momma). Monica, constantly worried about her mother, took an early interest in biology. Her father, a Marine, was on tour...Somewhere. She never did find out. Once her college years came around, she took the opportunity to Major in Biology, with an emphasis on Cardiology. The years were expensive and toiling, and the years flew by through medical school.

Her mother passed due to a severe heart attack not a week after she got her Ph.D, and Monica was left alone, with nothing but a piece of paper, and a father who's off fighting who knows what, who knows where. Rather than breaking down and giving up, Monica was inspired to complete her medical training to make sure that nobody else had to be in the situation she was in.

One fateful day, she received a call from her father. He was in Belgium, of all places. He couldn't say why, But he was allowed to tell her where he was now. Ecstatic to hear from her father, she decided to move to Belgium, and found a job as a cardiologist in a local hospital. Things were... Different here. For starters, she had to learn French, but if that's what it took to meet her father after all these years. Things went by fast, but her father was nowhere to be found.

Then on another fateful day, things were quiet. Too quiet. The hospital felt... Empty. Then, outta left field, Several hundred people were rushed into the hospital, all sharing the same symptoms. Apparently there was some sort of outbreak. Despite her best efforts, this mystery disease kept getting worse. The patients eventually became aggressive and delusional, and their skin seemed to be... almost rotting. Because of this, many of the floors were on lockdown, and doctors and nurses were given keys to unlock the doors.

It would be about another week before the news reported some sort of outbreak. People were eating each other, and apparently they weren't staying dead. Then she remembered the mystery disease patients. This place was full of them, wasn't it? This turned out to be true, and all floors were locked down and barricaded. Monica, and about 6 other people were all stuck in the hospital, to an extent. They weren't physically trapped, more Scared Shitless and frozen in fear trapped.

Over the course of the next six months, everyone but Monica had succumbed to the virus, or been killed. Usually both. Monica would spend her days scavenging what she could from the surrounding areas, and she learned to avoid all encounters that she could. She would also trade her medical services in exchange for supplies. This usually worked in her favor, but she has had a few rude people come a-knockin', whom she would try and scare off with some made up drug names, saying stuff like "It'll shut down your kidneys and you'll die in days."

And then there is today. It's another day, and she's low on food again. Perhaps she'll meet a few people willing to trade, or perhaps she'll have to step out into the open again. As the groaning of the undead can scarcely be heard above her, she contemplates her decision.
