So that leaves only the option of what do I do? Forneus in his current state isn't strong enough to face DIO, let alone kill him for being impudent towards a demon lord. But yet I can't help the feeling that he'd try and eventually die. Time would stop it's three against one etc, so he's in quite the predicament here.
Keep in mind that DIO did not audibly defend his relationship. If you're referring to this...
<Snipped quote>
He was needling Forneus for his inability to gain allies, much less gain them meaningfully. DIO was also not given power. True, it came from a stone mask, but he wasn't given the stone mask, and even if he would have been, it would have been so that a Pillar Man could feed off him.

Ah, absolutely. Forneus' inability to gain allies is definetley one of his weaknesses, and since DIO basically killed the only ally he had he's pretty upset upset. I went on a walk on a bit and I think that Forneus would most likely scold DIO for hurting such a defenseless creature, and then telling him that such a creature with power has no reason to defend himself against insults if he's already THAT powerful. Plus I just realized since Forneus can read Aura he can most likely see the image of the stand, not that he could harm it- he'd just know of it's existence. It's a law that a stand may only be hurt by another stand or recieve damage equal to that of its user. This is quite a predicament!

I have never seen such a display of writing. It appears that I have hit another plateau, but I won't give! I'll have to figure out something! I just don't know what! Forneus could make an ally out of DIO if he told him that the Death Eclipse would reset the world and if that DIO joined him he could have a high place in the Abyss and even be in charge of the new worlds that it created. But then again, DIO's intentions are to rule over everything are they not? So that wouldn't please him in the slightest.

He could get flustered?

What I was thinking was that for Forneus he would've gotten a bit externally flustered, probably calling out DIO for the need to defend himself when Forneus belives that a being stronger than humans and who has amassed amazing power (The World, he doesn't know about it- he thinks DIO possesses some sort of telekinesis) should have no reason to rebuttle insults at an Abyssal Lord if he does not fear his power. With the cat since it was a creature of the sea, Forneus is- well, really angry. What he would do next is that he would pick up the remains of the cat and absorb her (it being a being of water) then scold DIO for killing a creature of the sea. After that, Forneus would begin to basically say to DIO that "You cast of your humanity to become something you were never destined to be? You're a living disgrace, how dare you take power that is forbidden to humans, you're arrogant etc."

Either that or Forneus would hold his anger, he would admit that DIO is very creative with his insults but they are simply trivial to an Abyssal Lord. He would then absorb the cat, saying that if DIO truly treasured companions- he wouldn't have been so quick to defend his relationship. Then he would take that and say that a true creature of the night would not need to defend himself for that he already knows the greatness of his power, anyone who does is a braggart and is simply abusing the power he is given- much like a corrupt politician.

That or I don't know, I should take this in a new direction.
I'm unsure how exactly to respond to DIO, I've never had this kind of sitaution where someone devises a well layed insult. I got no ideas! Maybe I should try to write down ideas and think about them.

After some thinking now I think I've got it! I'm just gonna wait for Guru to post and then I think I'll begin.
@Lugubrious

Aha! I love Dio's Rebuttle! It has mixed elements of both his own personality, his scumbagish side and I'm unsure if this is what you intended but you got me thinking of Dio's abriged form with the, "Dick-measuring contest." line!

And now to wait for the others to post, this is gonna be good!
My objection is that it's not necessary and that it makes it very difficult for anyone else, in case another person wants to interact, to jump in. There's no need to tie three different people's responses together in one post.

It's not an isolated scene, either. They're all responding independently of one another.

I might not like collab posts, but I can say what they're most suited for is isolated sequences with low numbers of characters. I'm not saying that Forneus should be able to interject between each comment. But this scene is not isolated and three people independently reacting to something does not seem suited to a collaborative post.

I agree with this, this is why most works of fanfiction fail. The writer either doesn't know how to make more than at least a whole bunch of characters interact to each other accordingly, or just has one character be the center of attention every new paragraph. The reason why the whole Dio and Juri thing worked is because it was two characters who were completely isolated from everyone else and thus that's why it worked in the first place! In this scene there are four people in total, one of which the other three are reacting to- so it only makes sense that multiple posts are needed and not just one big post wouldn't do it justice.
@Grey Star @Lugubrious

Absolutely, thank you both for being so understanding. Also seeing DIO done right in an RP is perhaps the best thing I've seen this year! Props for getting his personality spot on.

Also I re-etided the post to make it more like Forneus was more or less jumping to conclusions and analyzing the aura of the three rather than "reading their minds".

@invisible man

The water that Forneus creates is artificial and imbued with magic. He wouldn't really to be able to drown the metal man unless if he pushed him into large body of water, or was near one and happened to use Maelstrom.

@Raineh Daze

I have never done that before, that actually sounds brilliant.

@GameGuruGG

Hell yes I approve. I haven't had this much fun with the RPers in this place since Legend of the Rudaras.
Hm...@Luciansmentor, DIO's eyes are orange, his fangs would only be visible when talking (and not 'under his lip'), and how do voice and posture give away a vampire? As far as vampires go, Jojo's ones are pretty unconventional. Either way, it doesn't matter; the rest of your post made it clear that your character's pretty much omniscient, although I suppose I should have expected it from what's basically a god. You might want to add that to his abilities--that, and he can communicate silently and instantly with every soul he absorbs as power.

Just a note, I'm sure you meant 'spell' in the figurative sense, but just in case, DIO's persuasiveness and attractiveness aren't a magic spell. He's just that charismatic, not that that would make any kind of a case against a god-tier character.

I can hold one thing against you, though, which is that DIO has not created a zombie plague. Any spawn he creates are completely under his control, and he has confined them strictly to the Hotel California. His zombies cannot create zombies themselves; there's been no infection.

@Gamegurugg, @Invisible Man want to collab a response?

Ah I see, sorry. I too have read Jojo, I recall in part 1 they said his eyes were red- this was apparent in the fighting game as well. But now that I think about it that's Series One Dio did have red eyes, however Series 3 Dio doesn't. I don't understand Araki's choice in that but eh, screw up on that one. As for the nation of spawns I apologize for that, I thought Dio would have done what he did in series one which was have them take over the town of Windknights, however I need to think again, this is Series 3 Dio, he wouldn't do that. Also he was that charismatic? I thought vampires had that power, they do in RS. Damn, that makes me like Dio even more than I did after Part 6!

Forneus isn't really meant to be a god, sorry for him to come across that away. He is an Abyssal Lord, mind you a powerful one. Of course in RS3 Forneus does slip up the heroes in the game by reading their postures and faces (plus Black, a Pirate who was with you basically blabbed about them while you were in the dungeon kind of tips that off as well.), perhaps I was a bit too explicit with that, my apologies. Forneus is meant more to be a powerful demon who can absorb souls to sort of complete his mission and restore the Death Eclipse. So yeah, my post was pretty out of line, with writing it's a bad habit that I should definitely fix. As for the souls part it is true that every Abyssal Lord can communicate with the souls they absorb, it's a part of the whole Abyss thing in which the souls of the damned constantly scream. As for Forneus he can also sense spirit energy due to the Abyss, the whole area's basically a giant powerplant, large and deadly. Also spell was figurative, Forneus likes to use those words just to patronize someone, if you haven't noticed he's kind of an intellectual dickwad.

But no excuses, the post I did was solely meant for Forneus to basically demonstrate that he doesn't want an alliance with anyone, he is no god, he is a demon lord and I should redo what I wrote post haste. Sorry about that. It happens to me a lot and it's a very passionate area.

Overlord only gets mentioned once inside that huge post, sulk.

I also have some reservations about Forneus, and agree with both VitaVitaAR and Lugubrious points. I mean, Forneus has some pretty strong powers! He could most likely just decimate all of Roanapur in only a few seconds, and most likely deck the floor with anyone that would try to get in his way. I'm mainly just looking at the PvP aspect of your character, but I don't want to just restate everything that the two have already posted.

I wouldn't mind collaborating a response, dialogue flows much better when it is done all at once rather than chopped responses being dished out slowly.

Forneus' PvP aspect is that he is strong, beatable though. In the Abyss and in the Real World it's all the same. The only way he came back was due to how the Abyss itself works, if he was to die here however that'd be it. He wouldn't come back. Forneus' main weakness is that even though he is smart he tends to jump to conclusions and overthink things so he might actually slip up himself and become flustered if outwitted. He is also nothing without water, sure he can create it but without large bodies of water he's basically the same as any other wizard. And even with the body of water all he gains is the ability to use Maelstrom, that's it. Without the Power of the Abyss in the Death Eclipse he can't even summon minions anymore, much less decimate the entire city of Roanpur.

I'm okay with a collab post myself so long as it's not too padded out, the players are in character, and it doesn't exclude people from interacting with a GM post by having too much time go by. And also once in a while since other people would feel left out if it's constant and I think it's easier on the flow of narrative if people didn't constantly have to bounce around perspectives in a single post. Generally I'd prefer it if the scenes were isolated to the two characters in question if it's going on since it'd be awkward to get in on it with anyone else around. My sub-GMs can tell their own opinions on this if I've missed anything.

Also um, yeah. Omniscience is a thing that I'm not okay with. If you want to interact with someone, then just having focusing on one area is better than knowing everything going on at once. Also once again saying that if you haven't put a really significantly powerful skill/ability/item in the character sheet and you use it in the game, that's grounds for me to take out the nerf bat.

Definetley is grounds for that, you're absolutely right. I think I might have to re-edit Forneus' sheet to clarify more things and perhaps nerf some stuff myself, in essence I kind of made myself look like an idiot with that. I kind of got so immeresed in the writing that I didn't notice I was kind of going off more of the Game's logic and not the Rp's logic. So again, my bad on that one. It happens alot and definitely needs to be fixed, sorry for the inconvenience.
Forneus - The Sealed Abyss Gate of 4th Street

Forneus heard the a man's voice echo in his ears, he looked up and saw in front of him a familiar face to those present in the abyss. Ah yes, he knew all about it the aura was ripe with Saruin's very essence, the power to absorb another! A vampire- and no less it was a very powerful and charismatic one. He looked to his right, a tormented, but lovely power the form of a young woman. Perhaps Arakes would've liked her greatly because her battle aura was off the scale! He then eyed the rather imposing looking metal figure in the back, obviously his overall body language told Forneus that he was bored as hell and probably wanted some action. Forneus liked vampires, they were born from Saruin's image. This one made no haste to try and put a powerful abyssal lord under his "spell!" Charming. Forneus smiled to himself as he slowly arose from the ground, his green hair flowing in the wind and his eyes being illuminated by the moonlight. A deep shade of red flashed as Forneus looked towards the rather orange eyes of the vampire himself, reciprocating an amused smile.

By now the cat leaped up upon his shoulder, water dripping below it as she stared ahead into the three, emerald eyes glowing. Forneus chuckled, "Mmm... A great sorcerer you say? Frankly I'm flattered, my magic is indeed a sight to behold- I should've realized that my little ritual would've attracted a number. Ah, but I'm guessing you own this town now assuming you've already used your power to enlist the help of some, ahem- servants?" Forneus sneered, onto the vampire. "As much as I do admire your spunk I'm afraid your attempt to charm me has fallen on deaf ears, child of Saruin." Forneus said, shaking his head in disapproval. "I see! However you have a very faithful lady behind you as well, her power matches that of an Asura which is beyond human standards. I'm intrigued! How did you find such powerful servants? Perhaps this world is more rich in power than I once thought." Forneus stared into DIO's eyes obviously seeing that the vampire's smile wouldn't fade, returning the gesture Forneus let down his aquatic friend and from his cape he withdrew his horn.

"Interesting. Well, since you are a creature of Saruin- all creatures of Saruin deserve to know my name! I am Forneus, the Abyssal Lord of Raging Storms and Dark Seas!" The lord stated proudly as he put the horn up to his mouth and began to blow. The horn unleashed a beautiful sound, it sounded like harp strings and woodwinds simultaneously banding together to create the perfect harmony. As the horn's beautiful played the pentagram beneath him started to glow once again. Water began to rise out of the ground where it had previously been used to engrave the symbol of the abyss. Slowly the water whirled around Forneus and began to caress him until it seeped into his skin, making it radiate with a pale shade of green. Forneus took a deep breath and without another word put a finger to his lips as he began to radiate once more, this time it turned from green to red as Forneus' smile once again slowly seeped to a closed glasgow grin. He held his arms out as a burst of abyssal power raged forth, causing the surrounding building's windows to break, the cars to dent themselves and the ground beneath him to simply crack under what appeared to be immense pressure. From the standpoint the three were at all at once they would be hit with a terrifying force, this man wasn't human. He wasn't even considered a demon, he was a lord of a place far worse than hell and he had the strength to prove it. Though his demeanor was calm and rather smart, he struck fear into those he met.

Once finished, Forneus opened closed his eyes, cracked his neck and smiled. "I love doing that. So refreshing to see your power boom after a good gathering". Forneus' eyes opened once again to reveal that the lord's pupils had turned form circular to a rather thin oval, a look of pure evil and a dim gleam of crimson plastered the lord's face. Forneus raised his hand and pointed a finger at Juri, "And as for the lady I have a question for you. Your demeanor tells me that you simply adore this creature of Saruin do you not? Sorry to say but you've been keeping a great eye on him while looking at me! But ah, fear not. Do not be so flustered, for if you do follow him you will be led down a path of love and nurturing. A most prudent creature of the night like this will not use someone as powerful as you as his plaything, I should know. I only keep those next to me whom I cherish. So little girl-" Forneus smiled, "Exactly what is your plan? Are you going to devote the rest of your life to him? Or are you perhaps desiring revenge? It must be because I sense a deep, unguarded hatred within you for someone. I do not know who, but whoever they are they must have wronged you in some way! So what is your true purpose?"

Forneus stared at the three now, smile less wide than it had been previously. "I must say vampire. You have done great work to hide yourself from the naked eye of people! I'll bet like most vampires you have a legion of halflings back at wherever your lair is! I say, you hiding yourself, posing as a human and how much charisma you have makes it seem like you are a lot more powerful than I had expected. Mmm? And what's this? There's another spirit in you! Wait a minute... Oh. Oh!" Forneus cackled, this was too easy for him. "I'll bet that isn't even your real body isn't it!?" Forneus declared, pointing directly at the vampire, "And just how do I know? It's because there's still a faint life force resonating within it that you continue to feast off of like a worthless parasite." Forneus once again smiled, he couldn't help it. He hated false flattery, and what's more is that he hated arrogance- No. He despised it. This impudent vampire trying to trick the Lord of Water? Pathetic. Forneus continued to stare at the three smiling ever still as the moon came out from the clouds, revealing his eyes to be once again scarlet.

You know, "can suck up the souls of the dead in a giant magic whirlpool thing" is really the kind of power that should be mentioned on your character sheet.

Oh sorry! I didn't mention that, that was part of his mission! If you want I can go add that now if you'd like? ^^;
