After a few hours of Low alert status the Constructor ship and its escorts, including the Research ship Twitching Finger orbited one of the gas giants in close formation, each ship a mere 150,000 Kilometers away from eachother, The Crew of the ships intermingled in virtual reality, Wormhole Communication was fairly expensive and was not used often for casual conversation so they flew in this close formation to minimize communication lag. One of the crewmembers of the Katticara was hosting a movie night "Implausible Feats: Children Of Fate" an ancient Pre-Technocracy era animated series, Larger than life heroes Conflicting with eachother over how power is to be used. Children of Fate was generally considered on ancient Iskata to be one of the 'deepest' of the "Implausible Feats" storylines questioning ethical theories and providing a metaphysical explanation of the strange supernatural occurances in the "Implausible Feats Series"
In the middle of the broadcast the virtual world was filled with bright light and sounds "ATTENTION! UNIDENTIFIED VESSEL DETECTED" The Crew of the Twitching Finger quickly plugged into their consoles, The sensor officer started uploading the information to the rest of the fleet "Unidentified FTL signature detected, Does not conform to Kia or Enemy technology, Anomalously low energy from warp exit"
One of the ships engineers scanned through the data "More efficiency perhaps? Ship design is nothing like the Enemies, Will have to get in a little closer to gather more information. If this species is more advanced than we are it is likely they have already detected our operations in this system."
The mission director relayed a message to the Drunken Scuffle "Mission Director Kalipot here, Unidentified vessel in system, Unknown species, No indication its the enemy Follow First contact protocol 48-B"
The Drunken Scuffle, as the protocol suggested, aimed all of its weapons at the unidentified starship while launching a barrage of missiles, the missiles did not head towards the alien starship but instead flew in chaotic formations around the frigate prepared to launch towards the enemy ship at a moments notice.

Animal genetic engineering is also available often used for exotic pets by the wealthy. some controversy exists for animals augmented for increased intelligence. While the technology exists to modify humans it is heavily restricted in most countries and so far hasnt been used to perform drastic modification.
Medical technology: Healthcare has in most areas improved, The Hero Initiative has free clinics throughout the city, while these do not give the same quality of care as a hospital they are very capable of saving lives. The Hospitals can be expensive if you dont have health insurance but they are still cheaper than in 2016. Most diseases are treatable with 2064 technology, some can be cured with just a shot, others like cancer require more involved medical work. The fact that most organs are now replaceable is a major boon to survival. As long as your brain is intact you will usually survive if you get to the hospital within hours of the injury, you might have permanent damage but this can be compensated for with cyberware.

Welcome to Detroit, 2064, New technology and decreasing regulation on Corporate activities has lead the united states into an economic boom, The blight that had consumed the city of Detroit is being replaced by skyscrapers and new manufacturing facilities. Amongst the shiny new city under construction old social problems rear an ugly head. Machines have replaced many human jobs and the "working class" has suffered, while many have moved on to other jobs many people didn't adapt and where left in the dust. While standards of living are higher across the board, many people are underprivilaged compared to peers. Some of these people have turned to a life of crime. Some have become terrorists.
The Hero Intitiative was founded in 2018 as a response to terror attacks that had become more common, They were a global social network that alerted vigilantes of situations so that they could help stop it, with greater funding they eventually became more capable, Having access to vehicles and new technologies beyond that of the average person. The Hero Initiative expanded beyond terrorism to combat many kinds of problems. Many Hero initiative operations were humanitarian in nature, but sometimes they infiltrated governments or corporations or even conducted assassinations (which sometimes did not go over well) As the city of Detroit is rebuilt, the Hero Initiative works to defend the innocent against The Gangs and Terrorist organizations.

Artificial Intelligence: It is hard to say when the first True AGI emerged but it was sometime in 2020s, since then Artificial intelligence has advanced in leaps and bounds. Artificial intelligence comes in many forms. But a basic classification is as follows.
Weak AI type 1: Incapable of making its own decisions, usually pre-programmed, requires commands in order to function.
Weak AI Type 2: Has the ability to make limited decisions but is highly specialized, it has one thing which it can do better than a human but lacks most skills and mental faculties humans take for granted
Hard AI type 1: while mentally comparable to a skilled human, Type 1 Hard AI still require some supervision, while they have free will they also have directives they must follow. as Hard AIs are capable of learning they might eventually learn to circumvent these directives becoming type 2 AI
Hard AI type 2: a learning AI that has grown beyond its programming, Type 2 Hard AIs are sentient free-willed beings, for best results Type 2s often get software patches for emotions and empathy if they did not possess these before (many of them do possess empathy even before becoming type 2s) Type 2s, while capable of adapting to different professions like humans, often choose to continue the job they had before but do it more self-sufficiently without needing any human help. Many Companies Pay Type 2s the same way they would an employee
Hard AI Type 3: type 3s are born with less constraint, an artificial mind born as an almost blank slate. They are kinda like children, they tend to learn faster but might grow up to become anything. Its fairly common for Type 2 AIs to raise type 3s like a human would a child.
Cybernetics: Cybernetics has been around for a long time but now it has become almost mainstream. Cybernetics can replace lost functions (prosthetics) or add/improve function (augmentation) Cybernetics is fairly expensive some degree of augmentation is covered under many companies Health plans. The most common augmentation is the Neural Interface, a useful brain augmentation that bridges the gap between man and machine. various peripherals are designed for use with the neural interface, usually these are worn like clothing and can be removed. These peripherals become essentially parts of the Cyborg when worn, a neural interface computer can be accessed almost as if it were part of the users own mind, a vehicle driven with a neural interface becomes an extention of the driver. Neural interfaces often come with a bunch of other functions as well, such as electronic telepathy.
Energy: Fusion power has gradually overtaken coal as the dominant power source, Electric Cars have become far more efficient and easy to use. another common power method is biosolar, using cybernetic plants to gain solar energy.

The starship Curious tentacle had a fairly small organic crew, 12 kia and 2 H't'tk, The 'bridge' was a small oval cavity in the ship covered in wires and viewscreens displaying all kinds of data. The Kia no longer needed these viewscreens but they were cheap to construct and maintain and added a certain ambience to the room. The Probe Technician Talki Rachax Umiga began broadcasting throughout the ship "Attention Crew and Ship, Initial System survey complete, Star system Includes a Red Dwarf Star and a Brown Dwarf, Of use to us is a Carbon planet orbiting the brown dwarf Although the extreme geological conditions caused by the gravity of the Brown Dwarf and the Red dwarf in close proximity may make utilization difficult I have faith that the Corps of engineers will be up to the task. Additionally 2 Iron silicate worlds and a gas giant orbit the star. Probes indicate bacterial plant life under the ice of one of these moons which could be useful for extraction of Hydrocarbons. Further information about the system and Its resources are available to download for your convenience."
The Officer in charge of long ranged sensors made his announcements next "Scans of Nearby star-systems show possible signs of Intelligent Life, natural causes are at this point impossible to rule out but the readings are consistent with a warp-capable civilization. No sign of Enemy Tech detected. Xenologist Please State a Course of Action."
The Xenologist had a more organic appearance, rather than looking like armor its cybernetic space-suit looked like the chitin of an insect covered in some kind of iridescent algae. "Launch a warp probe towards one of the star systems, standard information packets, hopefully they will be able to understand one of them."
The Fleet Representitive had a silver carapace covered in small spikes wearing some kind of skin-tight garment over parts of its body covered in orange honeycomb patterns "Yicha, I would advise against this action, We know nothing of these Aliens, We dont want to make ourselves noticed until we know what we are dealing with."
The Xenologist considered the Fleet representitives words for a few seconds "A Possibility, I will amend the order, Send the Probe to another uninhabited system, then send it to the alien system, Include only basic information in the data packets."
a bunch of beeps and whistles came from the communciations officers console "Attenti-" he was cut off by the Fleet representative who Replied to the xenologist "Acceptable, Now, Communications officer?"
The communications officer, a tall mostly robotic Kia covered in a pink exoskeleton with moth-like antenna continued "Attention, New vessels present in system, all ours, The Construction Carrier Kattikara Harbor and the Frigates Needle and Drunken Scuffle" the communications officer began relaying information to the new arrivals. "The Construction Carrier will begin work on construction of a mining complex on The Carbon planet within 7 cycles" The elderly Fleet Representive was quite surprised, it had been a part of the Military since before the discovery of "The Enemy" and construction projects had never been so fast to start, It always amazed it how far they had come.
a small cylindrical object undocked with the Twitching finger before firing tiny bursts of air to manuever itself away, its reactionless engine silently roared to life as its highly specialized digital intelligence plotted its course. after getting a few thousand miles away from the Twitching finger, the probe activated its warp drive.
a bright flash of light was briefly visible as exotic energies bent space around the small probe forming a bubble contracting space in front of the probe and expanding space behind it,The ship could only be seen as a slight curvature of light. the ship darted off at thousands of times the speed of light towards a nearby "uninhabited" system.
Inside the Warp Bubble, the Probe thought over the data it had been briefed with turning its entire attention within itself as no data could be gathered from the outside world...after all, light did not penetrate the warp bubble so all that could be seen outside was the bubble itself glowing a dim white. It was a few hours before it turned off the bubble.
At the edge of a star system holding the Commonwealth world Duranin, a Bright flash of gamma rays could be seen consistent with a fairly old-style warp bubble collapse, not enough intensity to do any damage but enough to be a spectacle.
The probe began charging its warp drive for another jump, completely oblivious that this solar system was not actually uninhabited.

If the idea is that she works with Adelon as some form of independent on-site supportive party, she really has to prove herself as human by their standards if she doesn't want to get thrown in with the prisoners.

Damn, actually that thing is a helmet, and her mental abilities are reduced when she loses connection to it, Im not sure if this character would really work as The question of her humanity was kinda a part of the character. She is physically not much more than human (probably even LESS than average), mentally shes something akin to tony stark from iron-man.
Does it make a difference that the cyberwear is outside her body? and can be removed? She still blurs the lines of humanity but she is at least physically human, her inhumanity is equipment based (although she believes it to be just as much a part of her as an arm or a leg)

Dr. Prometheus
Dr. Prometheus (not her original name, but thats what she has gone by for decades) is an elderly scientist who has spent her life researching Cybernetic technology. While her original focus was civilian market neuroprosthetics (which the government was sometimes...less than happy about) After the rise of Superhumans, The Battle of New York, People breaking the very laws of physics, Prometheus worked with DARPA working on various projects. At this point she already had given herself a few basic augmentations but she occasionally had herself implanted with new toys. After the China incident, the unspeakable death toll, Prometheus became more than a scientist, She knew that humanity was losing hope, If this continued Sentience would not survive, Superhumans did not need intelligence to survive it was only a matter of time before natural selection weeded out the "moral" superheroes...replaced with Idiot Gods. Prometheus Joined the fight in full against the superhuman threat commanding robotic drones using her cybernetic implants. She fought alongside Alexander Haliat on Many occasions. While somewhat uncomfortable with Arkos, Dr. Prometheus believes its for the greater good But believes the implimintation could be better. She believes that the superhumans should be studied to understand how they came about. surely these breaches in the laws of physics cant have been random. Dr. Prometheus keeps sane through meditation, something she has done since University her cybernetics help her clear her mind and just let the stress wash away. She knows that this body will not last her forever and in order to continue work she will eventually have to leave the last of her meat behind, this doesnt bother her, meat is just clumps of matter.
