Some people need to make a hard choice when deciding which two karaoke streams they want to listen to. I have no such weakness: I have two ears for a reason.

The hard part about trying to play some politically savvy mastermind is the assumption that the world operates off real world politics and not your DM’s politics.

Don't put too much stock in prophesies. At best they're full of shit, but more often than not they're one of those self-fullilling kinds. Plan for what happens afterwards instead.

A character isn't deep or compelling just because you let them get hurt a lot, are always depressed, or do morally questionable things.

Bio

If you're here either you're wondering what I'm doing cause I need to post in your RP (In which case, calm yo tits, I'll get around to it), or you want to know who I am. So let's begin.

I'm a college age asian kid who has more heart than he has senses. I'm still working out this whole "adulthood" thing, so until then I just do what I feel I must. As far as personality and traits go, I'm not one for boasting. So if there's anything redeeming about myself you'd have to figure it out in person or by word-of-mouth. Generally however I'm rather perverted, in the best and worst ways. nothing is too much until I've crossed the line, and that just means I've started.

As far as Roleplays I like, I have a thing for fantasy, though I'm also good for some types of sci-fi, supernatural, Modern, and slice-of-life. If it's open and sandbox, I'll probably join it. Never really been a romantic, I often chose to sexualize any notion of romantic encounters I come across. I generally write at Casual quality, though I have no issues with Free-Level Rp/Players and I can hold my own in Advance.

Tyrael shook his head as he answered Allard's question. "Unfortunately I do not know much about these villains myself. I was merely traveling through the desert when I spotted the sand skiff. I had noticed the girls, and came to the conclusion that it was a slaver vessel. As they had few numbers and I had the element of surprise, I attacked the skiff with the intention to utilize it's supplies and quicken my journey to Kalla. It was then I was assisted by Lynn as well as another companion of hers. However we lost him to a sand wyrm that attacked us during our journey here. Not long after we arrived to Kalla." Tyrael did his best to explain in both as much detail and omitting pointless fluff. Though it did remind him he forgot to mention one thing.

"On our journey here, a strange creature arrived onto the skiff. She had powerful magics, enough to allow her to quickly arrive and leave far faster than anything I've seen. I believe she calls herself Kitchi. She was looking for something called the Krogan Soul, for an oracle. Someone by the name of Jeevak needs it. Now that I think of it, I believe she came from the direction of Kalla. I do not suppose these names are familiar to you?" Tyrael asked looking at Allard. More information about this would be best for Tyrael, he imagines that it may have something to do with Lynn's quest, plus he's certain it'll be an issue that will fall into their hands one way or another.
Nice. Okay, so I'm sure he's going to try and make a run for it again, but now he'll have to spend at least half of his movement to get up and make a run for it so he'll only get 45ish or so feet away. And if Azzen does come after, he can use his Vicious Mockery to do some damage or something since it's a save cantrip, and thus wouldn't need to worry about the guy being prone. Don't know how much spell slots Azzen has or what spells he does have, but if he happens to have a Hold Person, Hideous Laughter, or something, that'll be aces too.
"Like hells I'm going to let you escape! Azzen, we have to finish them off before they bring back more enemies!" Orchid roars as she chases after the Masked Man and the kobold. The last thing she needs is for these people to gather reinforcements if there truly is more enemies in this keep. Continuing the pursuit, Orchid chases after the duo, running right up to them and trying to knock the Masked Man off his feet. That ought to prevent him from going too far, and she can't imagine that he can go very quickly while carrying the kobold on his back.

Username: Lucius Cypher
Name: Dayvt
Age: 17
Native or visitor: Visitor
Appearance:

Pokémon:
Gren - A male Aron with green eyes. Dayvt's starter. A worrywart who's generally the more careful of Dayvt's team, especially compared to Dayvt himself. Is very sturdy. Wears a Shell Bell that Dayvt made for him.
Signature Moves: Defense Curl, Iron Head, Rollout, Endeavor

Spike - A female Cacnea with a penchant for pugilism. The first pokemon Dayvt ever caught. Has a lot of confidence and is brave enough to take on anyone despite the power difference. Native to the to the deserts of Hoenn.
Signature Moves: Needle Arm, Sandstorm, Feint Attack, Leech Seed

Dia - A Carbink of mysterious origins. Dayvt saved her from being eaten by Sableyes. A bit of a troublemaker as she often acts before she thinks, making hasty decisions under duress. She's actually pretty tough. Dayvt found her in possession of a Diancite, and is helping her journey to become a Diancie.
Signature moves: Trick Room, Dazzling Gleam, Reflect, Secret Power

Personality: Dayvt is an adventurous young lad who didn't start his career as a pokemon trainer until a bit later than most, but it allowed him to absorb more knowledge and experience even before he obtained his first pokemon. He enjoys listening to stories and collecting lore as much as he likes battling. He can be a bit vengeful against people he thinks are bad, but he also tries to be honorable. While smart enough to approach most things cautiously, he's still the type who would go into a obviously dangerous situation just for the fun of it.

Background: A young man from Hoenn. He grew up in Dewford Town and his parents were avid jewelers, making various accessories and such using the minerals and stones collected from the nearby Granite Cave, as well as other materials they could dig up. Growing up Dayvt learned the trade but was more interested in exploring the caves rather than digging up rocks. He would watch the pokemon go about their lives, sometimes helping but usually only watching. When he was ten years old he went with his parents to Rustboro City for business, and it was there that Dayvt really begin to get interested as a pokemon trainer. While there was a gym in Dewford, his parents didn't allow him to go there because they thought he was too young. But at Rustboro, there was a trainer school, and Dayvt was quick to beg his parents to let him join it. They were hesitant at first, but after talking to the Rustboro gym leader, arrangements were made for Dayvt to join the school and learn more about pokemon and pokemon battling.

Dayvt attended the school for a whole year, becoming quite a capable student. His teacher, Roxanne, saw much promise and gifted him an egg to take care of. She told him that if he can make sure the egg hatches, it would mean he is ready to finally become a trainer. And so Dayvt made sure to take care of the egg while continuing his studies. After almost a year the egg would hatch into an Aron, becoming Dayvt's first pokemon. Thanks to his time at the school, Dayvt was able to tutor his Aron, who he named Gren, some moves he thought would be great for him, such as Rollout and Endevour. Dayvt and Gren grew quite close to one another and complimented each others personality fairly well. Dayvt was adventurous and willing to try new things, while Gren was tough but careful and knew how to make sure both he and Dayvt were safe at all times.

As the school year was about to end, Dayvt was given one final test to see how well of a trainer he'll be. And that test was simple: he had to catch a pokemon. Different pokemon from around the Hoenn region were brought to the school and put in simulated environments to test Dayvt's knowledge about pokemon and their habitats. He choose to look in a sand area simulating a dessert. He figured that such a location might whip up a sandstorm, which he knew would boost Gren's resistances if they run into any enemies who would attack Gren's weaker special defenses. What he found instead was a cacnea who was roaring to throw down with Gren. It was Dayvt's first battle, and to him it was always going to be a memorable one. He knew what a cacnea was capable of and figured that Gren's sheer bulk would be enough, but the Cacnea was a tough plant to put down. Eventually though it was weak enough for Dayvt to capture, earning him his first captured pokemon. In commemoration, he named the Cacnea Spike, for her rather notable spikes on her body.

After graduating from the trainer school, Dayvt sailed back to Dewford Island to show his parents his graduation papers as well as his new pokemon. For a while he stayed with his parents since he was waiting for his Pokedex to come in the mail. One day while Dayvt was in the Granite Cave exploring with his pokemon, he spotted some Sableyes. He was going to just watch them at first until he noticed they had dug up some sort of giant crystal. That crystal turned out to be a pokemon, and it was getting eaten by the Sableyes! Before Dayvt would've just watched, as this was a natural part of pokemon life, but now he had pokemon himself and he wasn't going to stand idly by. So he brought out Gren and together they were able to save the crystal pokemon and drive off the sableyes.

After taking the pokemon back home to his parents, they were quite interested in what it was. Dayvt himself didn't know, as he's never seen it in any books at the trainer school his parents were interested in the gemstones it seems to be made out of when his father noticed a particularly odd rock. That's when he found the mega stone. Dayvt had heard of Mega Stones before but this was the first time he's ever seen one in person. After some research, he learned that this pokemon was called a Carbink, and the stone itself was called a Diancite. He started doing a bit more research on the pokemon on the computer, and after he got his pokedex he gained more information about what a Carbink was. The whole time, Dayvt was doing his best to take care of the Carbink as well. She seemed to trust him well enough, but at the same time she seemed very restless.

Eventually after a few years of research and helping his family's business, Dayvt became old enough that he decided it was time for him to leave. He'd been training his pokemon at the Granite Cave as well as at the Dewford Gym and felt that they were now strong enough that Dayvt could go off on his own now. More importantly, he learned of a phenomenon that might help his Carbink, who he named Dia, that could transform her into a Diancia. Something which seemed to be Dia's personal goal as well. Before he left his parents gifted him one final thing: A Mega Bracelet. His parents had to use a lot of their connections to get one for him, but they were proud of Dayvt finally being able to go out into the world and taking care of himself. After a fond farewell, Dayvt left his home of Dewford Town and headed to the Rorie Islands, where he intends to not only help Dia's personal goal of transforming from a Carbink to a Diancia, but also become a great pokemon trainer himself.

Other: Dayvt's pretty good with his hands and likes working with metals, though despite his training as a jeweler he actually hates having to set stones. Dayvt also has a PokeNav Plus, which he's almost constantly on. Dayvt owns a Mach Bike to get around. Despite being from Dewford Town, Dayvt is actually a terrible swimmer and dislikes being in the ocean. He hopes to catch a water pokemon one day who can ferry him across any body of water so he doesn't have to swim himself. With Dia's help, Dayvt often makes secret bases for him and his pokemon to camp out at when they're traveling.
Ugh. I know I'm going to miss because of this guy's splint mail, but I rolled a 15 for my first attack and 16 for my second. That really bites, but I could probably catch up to him and kill him on my own if I really got to.
Oho. In that case, before I roll again I wanna know if this is gunna work:

Kobold provokes an AoP from Orchid so she attacks, misses.

Masked guy provokes an AoP from Orchid, so she smacks him.

Because presumably this masked guy is going to move at least 5 ft, Orchid uses her Tunnel Fighter Reaction to smack him again.

Also regardless if she hits or not, the masked guy will be taking 4 thunder damage due to the Booming Blade effect.
Alas, I imagine a 9 isn't going to make the cut. If it matters I get infinite AoP's thanks to Tunnel Fighter, however I could also use my reaction to smack the kobold also thanks to Tunnel Fighter. But at the same time, I ought to save the reaction to beat the shit outta this masked dude. Ultimately, that's what Imma do: Hold the reaction so I can use it against this masked guy if he moves out of or within my threaten range.
Though I don't intend to metagame, if I had to guess because I used one in a different RP already, this kobold is probs a Dragonshield variant. They got quite a bit of HP and survivability, but as you can imagine with a small race with an innate -2 to strength, they don't hit particularly hard. Being tanky in a narrow corridor is pretty much their job.
Well keep in mind that all of the characters applying will be new to the college. And again, if you intend to apply a character who is already inexplicably capable of magic before even arriving to the college, then there's no reason the college would need to accept such a person since they obviously managed just fine without them. As for obtaining prominence, that itself isn't going to be as easy as you may think either.

While the plot will mostly be about the party, that doesn't mean the world doesn't also move at it's own tempo, and there's plenty of other people in the college competing for prestige and spots to learn Esoteric magics as well. After all, even with all the dangers there are to them there's people who are more than willing to risk it for the power such magics hold. To that end, there will be other NPC's who are doing things like trying to win competitions, do research and invent something, or otherwise also make the dean's list. Keeps PC's on their toes.
