Alexis didn't care about the prize of having one of her Gunpla featured in an anime. It would certainly be cool, and something she could brag about for years. But that's not why she was her, not why she'd worked so hard over the last 3 years to build a Gunpla capable of getting her here and winning this thing.

One reason she was here was for her own pride. She'd spent the last decade of her life in the Gunpla scene, building, battling, even going to a school to get better at both. The other reason was sleeping next to her in a stroller, her daughter Cassandra. Alexis knew she'd have to choose between the hobby she loved, and being, in her mind, a good parent and devoting her self to her child like she had her Gunpla career sooner or later, and because of that, she felt pressure, more then normal to have accomplished something, to go out on top, or as close to it as she possibly could.

Right now though, she was all registered and just waiting on her brother, who had come with her to baby sit while she did 'glorious battle that they will sing tales of for generations!' as Raechel put it. He was staying in a hotel close to the stadium, and right now was just stowing his bags in his room.
Name: Alexis Voll

Age: 28

Gender: Female

Appearance: Long brown hair blue eyes an light skin. Alexis stands about 5 11 is in general just average looking in terms of build and looks. She general keeps her hair braided and wears glasses for reading or building due to poor 'close' vision.

Clothing wise she is very 'jeans and t-shirt', though she generally wears pants a size or two to big so she doesn't feel like she's being choked by them. She also has a plain black leather jacket with 'Celestial Being's emblem embroidered on the shoulder that she got as a gift from her brother. However recently she's had a new version of the jacket made, which looks the same save the edition of a purple snake coiled around the Celestial Being emblem

Nationality: American

Back story:
Alexis got her start with Gundam thanks to her brother, Damian, who got introduced to it via the legendary first run of Toonami, with Gundam Wing, 8th MS team and G-Gundam, as well as Gundam SEED later, and kept following it off and on over the years. Damian, while still a fan eventually drifted from it due to life getting in the way and just gave the DVDs he'd gotten for Wing, SEED, 00 and several 'spin offs' like 8th MS team, Stardust Memory and War in the Pocket.

She was initially annoyed her brother just dumped at those DVDs on her, being 14 and all, she just tucked them away until one Friday night after getting stood up by her now Ex-Boyfriend who turned out to have been cheating on her with a now Ex-Friend, pulled the back out and binged on them, starting with Gundam 00, expecting little more then mindless explosions. By the following Tuesday she'd burned through everything her brother had given her and started looking for more.

Still, while she'd become a fan of the anime, buying and building a Gunpla was something she'd hadn't considered, even after a local mall got a battle system. She'd watch the battles from time to time but felt that Gunpla building and battling weren’t for her. At First.

Naturally, curiosity got the better of her and she walked into the hobby shop that specialized in Gundam kits and supplys. Her first reaction to all the kits, many of MS and Gundam she'd never seen before was 'holy crap' in that surprised 'this is really this big?!' way, she wandered the shop a bit before grabbing a plain old HG Zaku II, as she generally had a thing for Zeon MS. The kit turned out to be the first of many, though she usually just went for 'show accurate' rather then any kind of custom build.

By the time she was 16 she graduated to battling, just casual matches with the damage set to the lowest
setting with friends she'd made with the regulars at the hobby shop, or the occasional shop run local tournament. Her brother encouraged her to take part in a more serious tournament, after seeing one of her more intense battles. She didn't hesitate like before on this though, she did how ever not enter the first tournament to come around though. What she did instead was talk to, and learn more about customization and tuning for higher performance. Plus she had to pick a Gunpla to 'trick out' and get really combat ready.

The answer to that present it self fairly quickly. The process she used was simple she'd look over her now, impressive collection of Gunpla and pick the one she liked best. Exia got picked because she had like 5 of them, with a 6th in the form of the then newly released RG Exia, which sat unbuilt in it's box still.

With her Gunpla chosen, she still had 2 problems to deal with though. She didn't know what she wanted to do far as customizations went, all official tournaments in her area all conformed to 'World Championship' standards, which meant Model Damage Level A, a setting she'd never fought on. She'd seen others fight on that setting, and even seen the aftermath of those battles. Still she steeled her self for the ass kicking she was about to get and asked if she could join a game with one them. A couple of them teased her a little, the 'fresh meat' joke being tossed around, but they where generally helpful and one in particular, another girl fighter named Rachel offered advice on how to improve her game.

Mean while Damian suggested she make Exia a 'sleeper', A 'straight build' looking model hiding a much higher performance level then its looks would imply, Alexis liked this idea, Rachel thought it was underhanded, and she loved it and Alexis set to work building her Exia, field testing it on Level A with her friends, though Exia wasn't ready in time for the first tournament and family issues caused her to miss the one next year so she didn't make her debut till she was 18.

She made it all the way to the first round of the Semi Finals before what amounts to bad luck took her out of the tournament her first year, next year she made it to the finals, but lost to an Eypon after a long fight. Alexis took State on her third try but it was a narrow victory.

It's been a few years since her first State title, since then she collected a few Regional titles and even made it as far as the top 16 in the country. Though lately she's feeling like she's hit a wall, as she's not sure what else she can do to Exia to get more out of it with out. Which is what lead her to apply, and subsequently get into Nielsen's Academy/Lab.

Her time at Nielsen's Labs taught her much. How to be a better builder and fighter to be sure, but also a few more important lessons not taught in a class. After finishing at the Labs Alexis didn't just jump back into the tournament scene though, she took a few years off, partly due to build a new Gunpla, one suitable for for the goal of taking her to the World Stage, and this meant seeking inspiration, which turns out, didn't come easy.

The other reason that slowed her return was 'Cassandra'. Alexis's 10 month old daughter, and tending to her really slowed her progress on building, or finishing a Gunpla that would carry her to the World stage.

Main Gunpla:

Back Up Gunpla;
Welp, my suspicions raised by the earlier kick have been confirmed. The XS Faith is legit invincible as evidenced by somehow tanking a full-on hit from a suped-up satellite cannon with minimal damage.
With that, this game is officially too powerwank for me. Have fun.

um, wot. did you read what the Faith can do or you pulling a Zero Hex and just assuming 'because you have a big gun' that automatically means you get to OHK what ever you point it at?
@Lunar Templar
Well, yeah, but let's be honest, the Tryon 3 team deserved to be the protags.

Eh .... only the one had any real 'character' to him, and I hated him almost as much as Yuuma. Fumina and Sekai I didn't have a problem with, hell, given what the Winning and Star Winning could do, I would call Fumina a better builder the Yuuma, certainly more imaginative, that's for damn sure.
Should I just create new units with ever-stacking win buttons after every battle? It's fine if people want something with a ton of gimmicks but I shouldn't have to tack extra ones on because people don't want weapons to damage their machines. That a player is already ignoring a character's special attack and taking just "paint damage" then doing a whole lot of assumptions to magically catch on to a machine going ridiculously fast in a straight line by using "shortcuts" in space doesn't bode well for those who don't want to godmod and constantly add new powers. That the GM seems to encourage a behavior that is generally frowned upon is even worse.

They also auto hit them.

I don't care how good you think your (insert what ever here) is, you don't get to auto hit other player. Period.

ESPECIALLY if said hit would cause significant damage. Like, ya know, taking off some ones head.

OR killing them outright, like your basically say you should have been able to do.

The Tryon-3 had 3 mechs worth of batteries. Since, you know, it was made of three mechs with their own generators. The only reason it lost was because it EVENTUALLY ran out of gas in the fight immediately after the "THIS IS WHY WE HAVE LIMITS" fight where they showed why they had limits- to prevent exactly what's happening in-game.

no, it lost because the plot required it to.

By all rights the final battle should have been the Crossbone FC VS the Tryon-3.

Nah, the beams are straight like normal. It's the emitters, the guns themselves, that are mounted on swivel joints so they have a range of motion, allowing them to track targets and "drag" the beams across areas without the machine itself moving.

Except this contradicts the show? Lucas Nemesis was a top tier player and the limited energy rule was what made sure he couldn't just run rampant with his Crossbone Full Cloth going super fast, using a bunch extremely powerful weapons and having two i-field emitters to boot. Which is kind of what pretty much every unit here does, btw. His entire strategy had to take the limitations into account and use his teammates as resupply depots, and he essentially lost because he hinged his bets on being able to blitz a team before gassing out and couldn't pull through.

True, but that and the Try Fighter match against Tryon-3 are the only time energy management was ever mentioned as 'something to keep an eye on' and it was only used as 'plot armor' so the Try Fighters and Celestial Sphere could battle each other.

Also, keep in mind it was coming from Yuki's perspective, she's not exactly the most 'attentive' when it comes to the 'Pro Circuit'... or Gundam lore ...
case anybody's wondering.

yes, Suku gave the OK for the reason given for the revoking of the energy limit rule.

As well as several reasons (from the perspective of running the game, and Gundam Lore) why it wouldn't be possible to enforce if it was in place.

Yuki had resumed watching the battle as it unfolded, drifting a bit.

She saw Kyo chancing a beetle looking Gunpla now. She never understood why people based thing on bugs.

She was more interested in the fight with Verdi and a beam spamming Zeong. 'Such is the price we pay for being more inclusive' Yuki thought. Beam Spamming had kinda died off when the energy limits where introduced, it also raised the 'bar of entry' as from what she'd heard from friends that actually paid attention to the pro tournament scene, the then new rule really didn't have the effect they where looking for. Sure it curbed the 'spam massive amounts of particles to win' at lower levels, but at the national, and world levels it didn't change anything. Those fighters ether came up with new systems or changed load outs to make the energy limit as moot as possible, if anything it only made it harder for new blood to break into the pro circuit, and if her friends reactions where anything to go by, having some newbie break in to the pro circuit and cause a ruckus by doing way better then anyone would think they would is just good for every level of the Gunpla world.

The down side to all that was 'no skill' Beam Spammers came back, which, is why the I-Fields on her Gunpla bounce the beams back at the person firing them. Which made her wish she'd installed something like that in the Gunpla she was using now, but the thought never crossed her mind to do so.

Yuki how ever had had enough of watching this Beam Spammer picking on Verdi due to her Gunpla seemingly not having a ranged option, it smacked to much of cowardice, so Yuki was going lend a hand to her friend. She reactivated her Wings of Light and brought the Zeong in to range of her 'Ki' Blasters, opting to come at it from behind, once in range, she deactivated the Wings of Light and switched to Super Mode. Probably didn't need the attack power boost, but she figured why not, she'd already used one special system already might as well use another, that and this would be an excellent opportunity to see how effective switching between a 'Speed' and 'Power' Mode would work for her, or if she should just pull it and go with the Hyper Mode.

Once in Super Mode she immediately opened fire on the Zeong with numerious rapid fire shoots from the Beam Cannons, in what was probably a rare display of some one using the Palma Fiocina Beam Cannons the right way. As ranged weapons.

As to the thermal camera, just like how you assumed radar absorbing paint wouldn't matter, i did the same thing with sensors, except sensors are standard on military machines where radar absorbing paint was not. we're piloting machines designed to fight in most if not all enviroments, to have the ability to view heat sources is invaluable for Gunpla. any sort of sensors like thermal cameras, night vision, motion, all would be standard on just about every gunpla.

And if you don't believe him, its mentioned in the show that Gunpla have a several different sensors inbuilt as part of the 'base systems'
