Since they were going to rest anyways, while also seeing Willo lay her sleeping bag on the floor, Imgor concluded it would be a good opportunity to catch the rest of the night's sleep. He had no sleeping bag or matress, but he also didn't need any back when he was living in the wild.
So Imgor just lied down on the stone floor, which was harder than the soil or tree-branches he had used to sleep on, but he would manage.

After a few minutes, he had fallen into a light slumber — the hard ground didn't allow him any deep sleep. Should a fight ensue nearby he would surely wake up from the noises.
Well, I'm not done, but nobody(not even you, nano) was there during the time for the collab. Unless I was looking in the wrong places.
JOE VERONA
HANGAR, NEW ANCHORAGE

Joe didn't like being subjected to tests, considering he had already shown what he was capable of in previous missions.
As he thought about Graham's statement he noticed a possible loophole, allowing him to possibly circumvent negative consequences of the tests:
Joe didn't think Graham had the authority to relieve him from his sentence to military service, but he couldn't be sure either.

To clarify the situation, Joe followed Graham, and waited until everyone else was either too far away to listen, or busy with something else.
Once the time had come he asked: "Pardon the question, commander, but I'd like to clarify whether or not my sentence interferes with the consequences of failing the tests."

Graham paused as he turned around to look at him as the two stood in a corridor with only a small amount of soldiers nearby. ”There are complications Verona, yes, but it does not excuse you. The fact is while I cannot discharge you like I can any other member of this team, I will tell you that there will be consequences— one of which being that I won’t let you fly Swarm until you pass my tests.”

"I thought so far, but thanks for the assurance." Joe replied, before returning to Unit 01 of the main hangar to continue working on his latest delivery. Before the end of the day he at least wanted to know whether or not he could build a prototype of a long-range-acoustic device from the speakers.

Joe seemed to be immediately greeted by the engineer from before, Katarina Poux. “Oh hey! You’re back! I heard your lunch turned into an important meeting, huh?”

With a sigh, he replied: "Correct, although it wasn't what I'd call useful." His tone changed back to normal: "So, how'd the tests go?"

“Yeah, I can tell by your zombie-like expression! It must’ve been real boring! At least its over with, right? As for the tests things are off to a good start, though I am not sure why you want me to mount a rudimentary sonic cannon to your NC. I don't think I've ever heard of anyone trying to weaponize sound successfuly before— it's kind of genius really if you look at it from a weapon design perspective, but will it work? I wonder if it will work.”

"Well I stumbled upon an article about it in an old archive a few days ago. At its time it was used as a nonlethal weapon against protesters, I mean who likes to stay around in a cone of 150 decibels? But no, that wouldn't be viable in an NC, on its own at least. However, I am sure you know about resonance, and the forces it can generate."

“Well, duh! I mean who doesn’t know about resonance of generated force from an amplified sonic cannon? That's like kids stuff.”

Joe smiled, he didn't expect less from an engineer, but as the son of an engineer, your knowledge about machines and physics usually eclipses that of other normal people: "Well, before we can get to work on the resonance frequencies of other NCs, we first need to get the speakers working, don't we? Before we get to work on the final array, I'd like to set up a prototype from seven speakers, as a proof of concept."

“I can have a working station setup in one of the engineering labs in like thirty minutes, assuming the chief relieves me.”

"Thank you, but for ease of access, I think the small prototype won't take up much space here, in case you can't get a spot right away."

Kat nodded with a light sigh. “Though there are regulations now, so we cannot exactly use the space here. I’ll be back in a few!”
JOE VERONA, ALEXANDER SKY
MESS HALL, NEW ANCHORAGE

Joe Verona could see where Percy's outburst was coming from, but he decided to not interject - not because it would get him in trouble, but because Graham might not have intended to cause the outburst with his remark, he was following New Anchorage's law so far, so unless Joe could prove this wasn't an accident, there was no reason for him to act. The soldier's reactions were a bit harsh though, for his taste.

Unless Graham either added more fuel to the fire, or rekindled the same outburst shortly after, there really was no reason for Joe to act.

After a few short glances at everyone's faces to determine their reaction to the situation, he noticed Percy's outburst caused another commotion between two of the new recruits, specifically Alexander Sky and a woman, who hadn't mentioned her name in Joe's presence yet.
The commotion was over rather quickly, but Joe still decided to walk to the scene to at least see if everything was alright.

"Is everything alright?" Joe asked both recruits in a tone that made it apparent he thought the answer to his question was 'No'. If he wouldn't get an answer, he would simply walk to the hangar.

Alexander looked at him like a deer caught in a headlight, saying sadly:

"Thanks. As I said, I'm not resigning, because, if you hadn't heard me, future generations deserve a better life than present ones, and Graham can still..." he trailed off, trembling.

"How can we fight together like this? There's nothing gluing us together now."

While following Alexander on the way to the hangar, Joe Verona replied: "Not right now, but on the battlefield there is one thing gluing everyone together, the increased chance to die if one is alone."

Alex felt woozy, the pain in his head finally getting to him. He wanted to say something, he wanted to doubt, he wanted to rage; if he were not in a migrane right now, he would go on a monologue about how he doubted everything Joe told him. Instead he said bitterly:

"It feels like I've been neural shocked."

Joe didn't respond, he didn't know if trying to help would be a good thing in this situation, if he even could help at the moment, so he just continued heading for the hangar.

Alexander, meanwhile, also thought: If I were with my old masters, they would have given me painkillers by now. But that line of thinking was banished by the memory of just what those painkillers were used for - a carrot and stick to guarantee his obedience.

This is still better, he said as he held his head...
@M127 I agree that a collab would do well to maybe move things along.
@Mcmolly@Natsucooldude Tomorrow at around 11 - 12 PM GMT/UTC? That should accommodate for @Eklispe's time zone too?
We can do it today too if you guys think you can all get together on such a short notice.

I'll be available in that timeframe.
I'm open for a collab regarding the dialogue.
As instructed by Lazarus Imgor put Alexander down into the center of the rune. While he didn't really trust Lazarus, Willo and Jonathan yet—he had just met them—up until now the situation didn't allow reluctancy. The fact that Joshua seemed to trust them didn't matter much to Imgor.
However, as he couldn't really do much now, he decided it wouldn't be a bad opportunity to get to know them a bit.
"So—what have you been doing here, if I may ask? You look as if you had been fighting."
Decided to change Joe Verona's dialog color from default to edb25b. Shouldn't be a problem as so far he only spoke in a single post, which is already edited to accomodate that.
DEPOT -- LOADING AREA, NEW ANCHORAGE

“This is Commander Graham. I know many of you are still adjusting to the change in military administration, but the new pilots will be arriving within the hour and I need things to be in order. I want all personnel to look busy by that point. I will be reassigning the NC squadron sometime following the acquisition of these new pilots. Thank you.”

Graham's voice resounded from the speakers in the supply depot facility of the base, where Joe Verona was expecting a delivery. As he stooked in the cargo loading & unloading area, a few of the workers seemed to look bored as they rattled on with nothing much to do. Joe didn't need to be at the depot, but he wanted to ensure his delivery arrived safely and was then delivered to Swarm's cache in the base's NC hangar. Hopefully it would arrive before he had to leave for lunch.

Fifteen minutes passed until the supplies were scheduled to arrive, which it did with a minor delay of about two minutes. Personell quickly got back to work as they began unloading the crates, boxes, and cargo containers. Joe looked across the platform, trying to spot the crates of his delivery.

He spotted them at the end of the industrial tram, being unloaded from an additional wagon.

“This one goes to the NC hangar! Unit 01!” The voice of the depot chief, Maria Lopez, echoed over the depots PA system.

It seemed that everything was being properly coordinated as far as Joe could tell, because he didn't have the patience for missteps if he continued to be stuck in New Anchorage. There was a sigh of relief as Joe was relieved to know the cargo had safely arrived, and the depot chief knew where it was supposed to go. He didn't expect less, but he wanted to make sure. As he had no reason to stay in the depot, he then proceeded to head back to the hangar, to ask engineering staff to test whether or not the speakers and their control circuits were working to their specifications. Joe himself didn't have the time to check them all on his own, especially with lunch and new personnel arriving soon.

Fortunately, the hangar facility was directly adjacent to the depot facility so it wasn’t much of a trek across the base. Once in the hangar, he headed back towards the NC station hub. Joe moved almost in a double-step before stopping at the base of where Swarm was stationed. A large “01” lining across the walls in faded black paint. The engineer currently working there was one he was familar with but hadn't decided to converse with before.

Joe cleared his throat to get the girl's attention. "Excuse me, a delivery of speakers and circuitry will soon arrive in the Swarm's cache, could you please help me check if they function correctly, I sadly don't have the time to check them all on my own."

The engineer turned with wrench in hand, her black hair tied up in a rough ponytail. “Hm? Oh! Hi! Yeah, that won’t be a problem at all. Is there anything else you need me to check for?”

"Thank you, and there is nothing more I can think of right now, although you should probably know what the circuits are supposed to do before you check them." Joe paused, if the engineer already knew, he didn't have to explain their function in detail.

“I'll do some diagnostics beforehand, of course. Kind of like, electrical engineering 101.”

"Ok, thanks."

“No problem! Let me know if you need anything else, okay?”

"Will do."
Darn, I would have loved to have gotten in on an RP as active as this. Oh well.
Is it weird I'm still going to read? Even not being involved, it seems interesting to see where you lot take this.

I'd not say it's wierd. I mean to an outside onlooker an RP is nothing but a book still being written, isn't it?
