Yes, I've been waiting for people to start posting IC, and I've been too lazy to check Nation Sheets.
Here is a rough outline of the timeline: 2015 - Reaper Virus breaks out 2016 - World Ends 2045 - Nuclear Winter Starts 2057 - Nuclear Winter Ends 2088 - Descent of Man Starts
Alright everyone, it seems there are more inconsistencies and more people having trouble getting the dates of events straight than I thought. I'm going to be making a timeline later today and I hope it will clear things up. As for @UltikanaRe's post, I merely misinterpreted the scale of the conflict. EDIT: Not going to finish the timeline today, it will be up tomorrow.
Guys, I need to talk to people faster and have quicker conversations, so I opened a chatroom for us to use. http://tlk.io/dom Come ask questions, get comments, or just chat
Hmmm, I have a question. How much of the Earth actual some sort of vegetation left on it? I mean, most of your pictures on the first post are completely barren (with the exception of that first one), but there's obviously some plants left. Right?
I have been meaning to add some scenery with vegetation I just didn't find any good ones at the time. So I'm going to do that now. EDIT: Added a couple
Hey Marshall, how common is Old World technology exactly in this world? I mean, Ultikana's post mentioned air support and firebombing, but DAWNSTAR's sheet says that guns aren't common.
The notion of still having air support /is/ surprising. That requires a working airport, fuel, a source of fuel, a way to refine and filtrate it, a sophisticated housing and maintenance facility, more spare parts than you can fit in a garage and all that other jazz. One would presume most of the infrastructure required - at some point or another in that sequence - has been obliterated or rendered derelict.
The fact is, old world tech is rare but if you are in a death struggle with another civilization you spend more resources on military equipment. His agriculture is bad, he exports weapons like almost everyone else and his people aren't used to fighting mutants so if any show up he'll take more heavy causalities. There are drawbacks to everything.
Alright Ultikana you gotta change that up a bit. The way you make it sound is like this is somewhat common. This would have to be the biggest battle to have taken place since before the apocalypse. The Nuclear Winter didn't last 73 years, it actually lasted about a decade and that flucuated with nuclear summers which can enhance the growth of plants. Hence people survived. The Nuclear winter has been over for maybe 20 or so years. So please change up that post and realize that if you use planes and things that you will be using massive amounts of resources. Like desperate measures, you can continue like this or completely redo this. I suggest a more realistic battle, if the lake was frozen over, one side would just post up snipers and wait. Change it up and get back to me.
