@Asuras Yeah I figured that but I wanted to confirm it so that my character would actually make sense lol

Let's break this down.

By asking forgiveness for 'laziness' presumably you mean to say you haven't read the OP in its entirety. This is strange in multiple ways; by saying such you want to make it clear you've purposefully forgone reading the OP, and yet want forgiveness for it? I would ask, "Why not read the OP?" to which your answer is apparently, "Because I'm lazy," which I can assure you isn't something anyone (especially ERode) is going to just shrug off and 'forgive'.

The OP is there for a reason, and has the answer to your question.

Just to be sure of myself I went ahead and reread the entire OP for the third time now before I wrote this. Unless I am well and truly blind I see only one reference to even potential monsters like I've asked about and that only saying "man eating beasts". The laziness I'm referring to is my unwillingness to read each and every one of the 100 posts that could contain the answer I seek rather than simply ask the question again.
@eRode Forgive my laziness please but are there traditional monsters in this world? Werewolves, goblins, drowners, undead that sort of thing?
Sorry for the fuss everyone I had the perfect idea for a character in the universe and I am tossing the power armor idea out the window.
Also, running out of ammo can happen at any time not just the worst moments.
For a zombie RP to really work, there needs to be diverse characters. They can't all be the badass ex-military who can head shot a zombie from a mile away with a pistol. There also needs to be a real element of danger when fighting zombies, when moving around looking for food or shelter. People have to make shitty decisions to stay alive, and that needs to also be an important part of it. Hence, the characters will have to rely on themselves as each other to survive. I also think there can't be one leader, but many leaders. Each bringing their own skill to the table to help the whole group survive.

That's where I see most zombie RP's have failed and those are honestly the most crucial parts. The pathogen, however it started, isn't important. Because if the survivor's goal is finding out what happened then it will stray away from the survival aspect. TWD has done this in season 4-5, then gone back to just survival in the last season which honestly made it better.

I agree with this, however I think that in a standard kind of zombie story the zombies never end up being the real threat, it turns out to be people so unless you intend to have a lot of human adversaries the infection would have to be akin to the Rage virus or something like the virus from Warm Bodies.
@Skyswimsky The whole concept of my character is as a tinker from Dansila that is secretly a mage. He's not terribly agile so he wears extremely heavy armor thats powered by and infused with magic.
@eRode So magically powered armor is useless and gunpowder doesn't exist?
Logic. Regardless of what kind of plague it is, I want logic. Also, gritty darkness.
@eRode I was thinking Brotherhood of Steel or just generally heavy armor with a big gun.
