Hey everyone, I want to know if anyone would be looking to join a hard-core Sci-Fi RP? The story is based on the Eclipse Phase PnP universe, and will play out pretty dark. There are three chapters to the story in which 4-6 people will take part in. Once I can get my notes together I will put up an OOC illustrating the premise for our first chapter. The year is 2152 and much has changes in the last century of humanity, so many great achievements, but nothing great comes without sacrifice. Nearly 100 years ago humanity was facing the calamity since the extinction of the dinosaurs, Extreme Global Climate Change. For decades people has seen it coming, but despite their best efforts they could only delay the inevitable. The polar ice-caps began reaching down expanding of the northern and southern parts of our planet like a slow moving sickness over the surface. Along with the ice that now covered close to 40% of our planet came the extreme heat at the planets equator. Most places along the 150 mile wide band became uninhabitable with temperatures peaking at close to 73 degrees Celsius, and plummeting to -64 at night. These changes brought about many problems: Lack of resources, Loss of life but the biggest problem of all was the immigration. Countless masses of people groups and nations had been forced out by the climate changes, and looked for new homes. The more fortunate countries that still had somewhat normal climates were the unfortunate targets for these people. These countries were not able to support all the refugees that came seeking help, and because of this began walling themselves off from what was outside. They were so worried about the people on the outside that they had begun to neglect their people on the inside. As things began to slowly decline there was a shift in humanity, a divide so to speak, where the countries began to construct better cities where the wealthy and privileged lived leaving the rest of the populace to rot in squalor. This brought about civil wars all over the world as the countries were being run by corporations that sought only to better themselves, and cared nothing for the other people. This was not the only fight they had to worry about; the refugees on the outside were also assembling gorilla forces that ever tried to breach the countries’ boarders. The world was a mess, and nothing about it looked to be getting better.
For some years the corporations began exceling in their research of mechanical engineering and Bio-Robotics, but not without set back. Things began to get dark as they tested their inventions on war prisoners and kidnapped individuals, earning them bad publicity worldwide. They began to tire of the constant struggle to keep safe their work on the ground and began constructing orbital stations that would allow them to not only proof themselves from attack and espionage, but also from cyber-attacks allowing complete security. Then something wonderful happened, amid the great advancements in Bio-Robotics and inhabiting moons and other world; the birth of human level AI came to be. They were Total Information Tactical Awareness Network, or TITANs, and were created to learn and help humanity fix it self. It was after creating the TITANs that technological advancements really began to pick up. Terraforming, Climate control, Networks, Weapons you name it them made it ten times more efficient for us.
They were also set on helping the earth to be made whole again, but that was something they could not complete. Not everyone saw the TITANs as saviors or helpers, no matter what they did, and the TITANs could understand this. It wasn’t long after rebuilding a lot of what we had lost, that the TITANs decided without warning they would go and explore the far reaches of space that we could never get to. Like that they were gone; with beyond human intelligence they assembled themselves as four crews and left. It didn’t take long for humanity to begin tearing itself apart again with war and cyber-terror. This was the nature of human behavior, and could not be corrected no matter what you gave to them.

He stood in an auditorium on board one of the many TITAN Orbital stations around earth. “Now we come to see a pattern in what is humanity’s life line. At the end of the 21st Century Humanity was at a peak for the time, and was followed by a crash. This pattern is followed throughout history, and I can happily put the rumors to rest and say…” the man looked around eagerly. “We have received a transmission from the TITANS, and they are on their way back here saying they have found a second enlightenment!” The crowd in the auditorium began to clap. “We are ready to start our climb from this crash we have been in, but this time we will stay climbing because now we are united for one goal!” The crowd was now in standing ovation as the man bowed and walked off stage concluding the meeting with the plans on meeting the TITANs as well as some station announcements on their yearly happenings.
In this Roleplay there shall be 4-6 players taking part in the return on the TITANs that bring their new finding to help humanity in its drive to excel.
