I hesitate when answering a specific city/country(as I personally am not from the US or UK where most commonly I see these settings are based) however it will be set in a rather vast and sprawling city, that I can say with confidence.

As for ai, robots and cybernetics, full ai robots are outlawed(if anyone would like to play as a robot, feel free though, as it's definitely possible for them to be blending in with humans) cybernetics are not outlawed, however there would be a social stigma surrounding them.

Just to clarify; robots with human level AI that are capable of self awareness are outlawed, but general use, Industrial, and luxury robots are allowed?

Based on the option to be an AI that can blend with society even thought they are outlawed it is fair to say that robotics have advanced to a point of replication of human bodies?

This timeline is following a similar political/social view of body augmentation as the Deus Ex line?

I am glad to see there is some good interest in this, and apologize for not responding to all of you sooner.

Thank you all for your support, and willingness to participate. I will eventually put up a thread for charting the progress and eventual launch of this story. Story to Remember

I understand that there was no implementation of a multiverse into the EH system since it was a persistent universe system. I was hoping to open the door of a multiverse for this scenario to add a new level of play, with new interaction from points that don't already exist.

As for keeping your group there I do plan on there being a great deal of destruction within the EH universe as we know it, but there will still be room for players to write in surviving groups, factions, new alliances, ect... We are still in the early stages of developing the story, but we will keep people updated as we continue.

The Gauntlet of New Beginnings

Paradox Event

Description
This event is meant to breath new life into the Expanding Horizons Section of this site in order to carry out the writer's oath “I will never discard any idea of writing that has been started until it has gone five years without edit.” I plan on orchestrating an event that will carry through every version of the Expanding Horizon Multiverse. This will cover a wide range of game play mechanics such as code Cryptography, Investigation, Exploration, Battle, Diplomacy, and many others. This event will essentially blot out most of what already exists with an event that causing what is known as a “Ripple Effect” across the Multiverse with a fixed point. This collective adventure will bring new content and rules to table as multiple iterations of the verse collide and fight for dominate existence, while the fabric of reality is torn and will only choose one to survive.

Being a fixed point of the paradox there will arise the discovery of many different iterations of the universe and each one will have its similarities and differences. The rules for each of the iterations will be predetermined and set to avoid any more confusion than there needs to be. Some of them may be vastly more primitive in technology, involved in all out war, performing a scientific study, conducting a religious ritual, and many other scenarios that could prove to be useful or a hindrance to those who wish to find out more about the event.

As a massive undertaking I wish to recruit some fine minds who have an interest in would building, storytelling, and foremost who can work with discretion as everything that will come must be kept closed until the players find the clues, fight through the battalions, find faith, and/or become enlightened to what is happening. Please let me know if you have the time and interest in this for it will truly be a project like no other.
