Portugal isn't half as bad as (all of south america). Seriously, anyone catch Argentina earlier? They play like cunts. It's their whole regional league or whatever. They all flop. Portugal likes to act too, but nowhere near that level.

Surgery #6 has failed

The rare not-a-joke thread in spam. Had my sixth knee operation yesterday -- this pretty cool thing where they go in under ultrasound and drop an EMP on your nerves to numb the pain. It's supposed to last six months, but it didn't make it six hours. My dad was in town to help out. I'm pretty sure he thought this was gonna be the one to fix everything (I didn't really expect much), so when it was obviously not working he decided to get me hammered. I just finished drinking him under the table -- triple shot of jeremiah weed, two fingers of scotch, and half a bottle of Jameson. I started going 2-for-1 on the Jameson, because it wasn't even close to fair. Anyway I'm almost buzzed now. So there's one more operation in the works, which is stupid and not going to work, and then they'll finally cut this damn thing off so I can get on with my life. I'm gonna try and cut the corner; there's no reason to dick around with another hail mary when clearly we're on the wrong tack. If I'm lucky I could be going in for the elective amputation by the end of the summer (if I can get it done before november I'll consider it an early birthday present from uncle sam)

Anyway that's what's going on with me.

ghana/germany was the best game so far.

We've had a 'best so far' almost every day now.... this is quite the World Cup! At least in the group stage. Very interesting shit going on.

Happens to me all the time. I mean, not that I necessarily hear NEW words that often, but obscure or oddly specific words. Names, too. Like if I think to myself, 'Who's the guy that wrote the 3:10 to Yuma soundtrack.... oh yeah, Marco Beltrami.' Within a day or two (it seems like without fail) I'll stumble across a movie or show where he did the soundtrack. Sometimes I think it's subtle mind-control by the lizard people who run our zeitgeist.... but honestly it's just an affirmation bias that happens naturally in your head. Like how it seems like a lot of street lamps turn off as you're watching. They turn off all the time, but you only notice when you're watching. Same principle -- you hear new words all the time, but when you hear it twice it seems to be happening much more than it is.
