Alright, all my ranked fights have essentially ended, so this is another open challenge to anyone who feels they have a suitable character.

I'd like to fight with either

First Arc Clockwork Man http://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/79934-people-trapped-in-a-giant-melon/ooc#post-2635038

Adrian Valdovsk http://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/79934-people-trapped-in-a-giant-melon/ooc#post-2776623

Or my new character, who I will finish up for the fight, Aegis. http://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/79934-people-trapped-in-a-giant-melon/ooc#post-2818058

Anyone interested in fighting the undisputed King of the Arena? (At this present moment)((Please note, Melon industries does not take any responsibility for demoralization, salty tears or frustration caused by your impending loss))
Well, he has had to change his signature to 'I'll never beat MelonHead' for a week, that is pretty terrible.

But imagine having to have a pink Mech, forever? That was a fate worse than death.

I think that also puts me at 1400 points, so I can afford to sit around for a while and see if anyone can catch up.
Best thing to do with any Arena questions is head over to Arena FAQ, or RPG Ranked, or just general Arena Chat.

However.

1. Usually you're fighting to decide that, it is essentially a competition, which rewards originality and thinking on your feet, as well as detailed and realistic attacks. Usually I've won fights by beating my opponent into submission, but in some tournaments the winner has been decided by a judge.

2. Depends, the whole point of the Arena HQ is establishing a multi-verse where rivalries can form, but many other people fight without a greater story connection. Personally I like to establish rivalries and interconnected stories with other fighters.

3. That depends on how you want to fight, there is an established system in place where you essentially fight in 'turns' which involve an attack, a defence, movement, etc. When someone launches an attack at you, there are three initial choices based off logic. One, if your character can't avoid an attack because of the situation you take a 'hit' where you describe what your opponents attempted attack does to you. Two, you avoid the attack, which is usually the safest option but not always possible. Three, you defend yourself, raise a shield, parry, whatever you want. After this you have the chance to either counter attack, where you launch your own attack, or allow proceedings to reset. Ultimately it all depends on the flow of combat.

If you're still interested you can start learning some of the more complicated stuff like preps and how magic works into this system, but like I said I'd recommend checking out that FAQ or Arena Chat, there are plenty of people there who can answer any questions you have. Also, check out some fights and you'll see how they go down.

Hope you give it a try, see you around.
Let's be honest, we do a lot of things that don't make sense.

And as it stands, it can be handwaved with magic as it doesn't make much sense summoning a pack of fire breathing kittens. The concept can be explained thusly

Big bad magic, omnipotent man of the magical arts developed a game. A challenge. A fight. The powerless start, and the powerful... or crafty... mainly lucky... win. To enter, he does some magic mumbo jumbo, and from then on can manipulate the person for the duration of the bout.

Essentially it's just a game, either way, not really different from any other concept. In your example, your leg would simply change, and you'd have to go with that. You could add some story to it, or just have it happen. Then deal with the consequences or advantages therein.

Sounds like something a certain God of Madness might be running.
Finished beating IN up again?

Apparently. I was able to concentrate fully on this fight after my last opponent ran away in fear.
I love the buff/debuff idea, it's literally the definition of thinking on your feet and I suspect it will be good practice as well.
I guess this battle is over @Rilla
Higan couldn’t help but laugh as the man stripped down, having not realised he wouldn’t have some sort of padding or some-such underneath. He was down to his boxers, with printed dogs on them no less, and the sight was hilarious after the battle which had just been fought. Higan clicked one of the many support systems on his Mech, and metal ridges protruded from both sides of the Mech’s legs, obviously providing decent perches for men to stand on in relative cover.

“Alright, hop on kid, I’ll carry the armour and we’ll see where we go from there.” Higan’s mech bent to pick up the discarded armour while allowing the smaller man to hop onto its left side on its leg before his vulnerable skin started to burn in the unhospitable environment. It wasn’t a very easy thing to do, his Mech’s hand was damaged after all, but he sandwiched all the pieces between the body and arm, and once Saanja was safely aboard they’d begin walking back to base, Higan spouting witticisms and bad jokes all the way.

“He gives up? Well that’s no damn fun.” Higan considered his options, the rifle poised to blast a hole through his stricken foe’s back while he was hoisted upside down. He thought about pulling the trigger right then and there, that would be the smart thing to do, this was a search and destroy mission after all. However, the anomalies were becoming more and more common in the Grent Republic, it was possible that they couldn’t just keep killing everything unusual that entered their perimeter, as of yet he hadn’t heard of any of the anomalies being questioned. This humanoid he held at his mercy right now could be the answer to the countless questions the scientists had.

He centred the rifle on his target, finger brushing the trigger system, mind racing. Eventually something clicked, and he came to a decision based off his fairly significant experience in the field.

Projecting his voice outside the Mech, Higan addressed his target for the first time.

“Alright, this is how it’s gunna work, you’re going to take off your fancy armour and stop resisting, and I’m going to carry you back to base. Any funny movements and I’ll put you down permanently, understand?” The Mech dropped the man suddenly, and trained all three weapons on his inert form, at this range more than capable of obliterating him if he should do anything less than remove his armour.
